I thought it may have been part of the police tactics in gaining a confession and possibly proving to a future jury he was capable of empathy.

Aha.....I hadn't thought of that!

I hope you're right MT - because if he just wrote it of his own volition, it feels sickening. But if it's a LE tactic, it seems so much better.......

"Because abusers target the powerless, crimes against animals, spouses, children, and the elderly often go hand in hand. Children who abuse animals may be repeating a lesson learned at home; like their parents, they are reacting to anger or frustration with violence. Their violence is directed at the only individual in the family who is more vulnerable than they are: an animal."

MT, I meant to say the other day when you posted this - thank you so much for putting this on the thread. :seeya:

A wonderfully clear explanation of why children act out in the ways that they do. It's important to understand - no child is a 'monster', just a human being trying to cope with the world around them the only way they know how.

PALMS pressed together and heads bowed in sorrow, Brisbane's Korean Catholic community yesterday said a collective prayer for slain 22-year-old Eunji Ban.

"Ms Cho said Koreans in Brisbane were still "very shocked" by the death but community leaders had stressed the attack did not seem to be motivated by discrimination.

"The Australian community supported Eunji and her family. We appreciate that," she said.

"There is a very strong bond with our communities."

McEwan allegedly screamed at Ms Ban to die as he repeatedly punched and stomped her and placed his shirt in her mouth to stifle her screams.Police will claim he then dragged Ms Ban up a set of concrete and stone steps and hid her body behind a tree. The accused killer allegedly left items in the branches

During the attack, police say McEwan lay down next to Ms Ban in the hope passing cars would suspect the pair to be a drunken couple - See more at:

I leave here off and on due to depression issues....this is horrid; I do sometimes wish for death....and he deserves it! I so seriously find evil prowling the earth but don't believe in a God so think she died for no reason. I fell down a flight of stairs three years ago....brain injured and neck and back screwed for life and even so, I find myself on here....hoping for justice for someone.

I've just posted this in one of the other Aussie case threads. I'm sure there's more names that would go on this list.

There has to be a way to stop these killers from committing all these murders. They're all young guys, all around the same age.

S.A - 2012 - Jose Omonte-Extrada, 20, murdered Jessie Fullerton & Rebecca Wild using knives & an axe.

S.A. - 2010- Jason Downie, 18, murdered, raped Chantelle Rowes & stabbed both her parents to death.

QLD - 2013 - unnamed killer, 18, accused of murdering of Joan Ryther

QLD - 2013 - Alex Reuben McEwan, 19, accused of murdering Eunji Ban.

They're just a few off the top of my head. Then there's the murder cases in US of guys all around that same age as well.

Yes, I think we'll be able to add a couple of handfuls more of young names if police can get the necessary evidence to arrest the gang that massacred Jason de Iosa here in Adelaide.

(This is the case that involved 'missing' Rachael Moritz's car, and young Hells Angels associates. The massacre was caught on CCTV, but the young gang of thugs all had their faces covered. Police have offered one of the largest rewards in our history to try to get someone to speak.)

I get the feeling that someday Shandee's killer could be added to the list too!

DECEMBER 16, 2013

"CRIMINAL proceedings against the teenager accused of murdering South Korean student Eunji Ban have been suspended until it can be established if he is mentally fit for trial, a court has been told.

The Brisbane Magistrates Court was on Monday told Alex Reuben McEwan, 19, was being housed at Wacol's The Park Centre for Mental Health, west of Brisbane, for assessment."
