Death from Cyanide is usually immediate and I think it would be difficult to control dosage to kill slowly. Not something that could be done by a lay person. (god my google search history is really stuffed now!) And generally would be detectable at autopsy.

So there are other ways succinylcholine is a fave - paralysis and asphyxiation but the drug does not stay in the body so it is difficult to detect.

Interesting thanx Liaden - in that vid the victim’s brain tissue showed small levels of cyanide which showed he had given the poison days/months beforehand. Maybe a precursor or a trial run. The victim had presented to the doctors not feeling well during that time. Then whooshka he dosed her hard because he didn’t like the divorce settlement, she walked out of the house and collapsed and died. Still the poison was undetected until years later(?) her tissue samples were sent to a scientist who works with those kind of drugs is the USA.

I just wonder if Karen had bouts of illness that could be traced back to BR’s shenanigans.
Just having a peek outside the box.

How & why was MR RISTEVSKI able to transfer the house into Karen’s name solely?
Did he know he’d inherit it anyway & her insurance pay it out on her death?
Something was going on. Premeditated??

A liquidator was appointed to wind up the business in November 2000 and subsequent accounts filed with ASIC make no mention of creditors receiving any return.

Months earlier, Mr Ristevski had transferred the family home into Mrs Ristevski’s name only.

A land title search reveals the house, in one of Avondale Height’s most coveted streets and worth up to $1.1 million, is mortgaged to Westpac Bank. In February, real estate group Vicinity, together with Perpetual, lodged a caveat over the property, prohibiting it from being sold or transferred.

Karen Ristevski: Family of missing Melbourne mum dogged by debt

I reckon that it could have been as simple as a bankruptcy filing was imminent. There is no reason to think that their financial problems had receded, or that they hadn't incurred even more debt with the unsuccessful operations of the Bella Bleu shops.

Getting the house into Karen's name only, and him taking over as sole director of Warrant Brands/Bella Bleu, would have kept the damage from any bankruptcy filing to a minimum.

While you are allowed to have a residence under bankruptcy laws, it may have been that the Avondale Heights home was considered a luxury, and a less expensive residence may have had to be sought ... perhaps one not up to the keeping of their image .... if the house remained in both of their names.
And getting Karen's name out from any possible bankruptcy or liens would perhaps have meant she could be the 'person on paper' for any of Borce's future get-rich-quick schemes.

Only, perhaps, Karen wanted no part of any more schemes and had decided to leave Borce. Would maybe be a motive for an angry, planned murder. Her walk away, take her money and property, leave Borce marooned in a sea of debt with no easy way out? Not likely.

If he was a hard worker & helping with the household finances then how did he have all that time helping Karen in the shop? I wouldn’t be surprised if he was mostly unemployed.

I’m calling that he’s a bludger and parasite flying high on Karen’s income.

Look what happened - as soon as Karen was absent, he had to sell the shop and couldn’t upkeep the home.

See what happens when you kill off the golden goose or the willing horse?

Mongrel!

Yep. Mr Easy-Way-Out. Always needing his wife or his brother - somebody - to prop him up.

Perhaps Sarah was next in line to be the prop.
Once Karen was conveniently out of the picture, leaving her assets behind for Sarah.

.

Karen drove the 2004 Merc whereas he and Sarah had to new, possibly leased cars.

That alone tells me multitudes.

The Merc is a cutie for sure BUT older European vehicles start costing a fortune to maintain...but she drove it.

A 13 year old Merc was like Ol’Borce, time bomb waiting to implode.

Speaking from experience, you never keep a German car for 10 years or longer unless you have piles of cash or can afford to replace it.

Those things cost a mint to fix, I had a 1987 300E and I could've bought a very decent non-German car for the money that was spent on it. It got written off when it was 20 years old in 2007.

Oh I agree! I hope you weren’t in it when it was totalled.
Audi, VW & Porsche all come out of the same stable and are terribly expensive as well. Such is the power of owning European ‘prestige’. But say the Lexus takes Toyota parts which makes them less expensive for a prestige vehicle to maintain.
The old Holden you could fix on the side of the road with some farmers delight. (Fencing wire). :)

Enter the computerised vehicle - mechanics are known as ‘fitters’ now because vehicle parts can’t be repaired any longer but only replaced.

Anyway I digress......I’m only a sheila so what would I know. ;)

SA I’m waiting to see how bad his gambling habits were.
IIRC he frequented the casino.
Yet another link missing from MSM.

Yes I think it is all about the money. Hard won money. Come from nothing money. Money that all all costs can’t be allowed to be removed from the family unit into the hands of Karen.
To kill ones wife and mother of your child, a heinous act - some men don’t need much provocation but are usually those with a history of things like drug use, assaults, jealousy, violent behaviour. To all intents and purposes - not Borce.
A more calculated, more cold blooded motive is behind this murder.
A very basic instinct. Hold on to what is yours - and in Borce’s opinion, it was all his.

Yes. I, too, believe that it will be revealed that this heinous murder was all about money.

I don't think The Australian dug deep and discovered all of the intricacies about the financial difficulties without a little hint to take a look in that direction - perhaps part of the initial pressure to be applied to Borce.

And I think that Borce's protestations about having no financial difficulties is not so much about pride as about trying to deflect others away from his motive, so he could ask what motive could he possibly have for murdering his wife. It could only have been an evil stranger who was after that $850.

Borce appears to be a simple man who didn't properly understand the delving powers of the police, and how they have pretty much seen it all, when he decided to murder Karen.

What about the money from the notorious Melbourne loan shark Itsa? I can’t wait to hear what that’s all about and if it has anything to do with the motive.

I think that I first brought up the gambling aspect and was roundly condemned by the clique here. I think that he was a gambler.

Where's Vasko??? Time for an arrest yet OR is he helping police in relation to receiving a lesser charge OR is he on a slow boat to China wearing his unsold denim vests and chewing on pecan nuts??? :dunno: :giggle:

No it was from our cherished ‘gold member who said on 29/3/17.
..... BR was a regular at the Mahogany Room where you only get invited to join as a VIP. VIP's only get there as they spend (and lose) big money. What was BR doing work wise over the last few years? I thought the fashion store did okay which it must have been for KR to go overseas so often on buying trips so I wonder why would the family be in such a financial mess as reported in the media?"

This might be one of many. The courtroom might overflow with them

Fringe lenders include both relatively visible lenders such as pawnbrokers and the “new kids on the block” - the pay-day lenders - to the far less visible loan sharks such as those frequenting casinos in search of losing gamblers, and loan shark networks of the type uncovered in South East Queensland recently and which is currently the subject of extensive court action in Queensland.

Awesome photo TGY. Your pictorial commentary has really added to this thread.

I think it was TGY. [emoji6]

That article said loan sharks zero in on gamblers and lend them money on their wages. Well that could stem the argument about the $850.00 that BR needed that to pay the shark if he was gambling.

If the casino knows every $ you loose or win then so will the cops.

What it’s really like inside Crown Casino’s Mahogany room

THE first thing you notice when you enter Crown Casino’s Mahogany Room is the stench.

:floorlaugh:

To gain access to the VIP areas, you’ll need to clock up $15,000 within six months to earn a platinum membership.
And as our gambler is well aware, punters are caught up in a losing game.
“Casinos are built on losers, not winners. All the marble and stuff is paid for by the gamblers,” he said.
“And they know every dollar you lose or win.”
