Okay, I finally discovered Kiesha's full name and DOB:

KIESHA LOUISE ANNE ABRAHAMS: DOB: 22/04/2004

Am just awaiting a reply now to see if this person knows the time she was born, or the time of the phone call to police so we can pass on the info to our amazing forensic astrologers.

Hebersham juniors play for Kiesha

ONE month on from the disappearance of six-year-old Mt Druitt girl Kiesha Abrahams, junior members of the community are rallying in support.

This Saturday, the Hebersham West City Tigers under-12s will dedicate their Penrith Junior Rugby League grand final appearance to Kiesha to keep hope alive and renew appeals for new information. (The team plays St Pats at 9.40am at St Marys League Stadium).

There is also a candlelight vigil planned for Friday 3rd, at 7pm outside Kieshas unit.

342 Woodstock Avenue Mount Druitt, NSW

BBM- for those of you not in Oz, I think Mrs G is referring to the 'baby bonus' that we parents get here from the gvt when you have a baby to help get you started for any baby- related items.

I thought I read that her last name was actually Weippeart, after her father?

Yes DoCS is tragically underfunded in Australia, as are most child welfare organisations around the world. We have a state election coming up in New South Wales, with a change in government likely, but I don't see any major changes coming about with that, the fact that this story has gone quiet and there is a lack of public outrage bothers me, I think when a problem seems to difficult to solve people tend to look away so they don't have to face it.

It's strange isn't it, you need a licence to drive a car or even go fishing, but raising children, just go ahead, see how you go with it, here's 3 grand to get you started, let us know if you have any issues with that. So sad.

The baby bonus was actually $5000 when it first started. Very true what you have stated though - anyone is allowed to have a child and the Government is useless with its child services.

I really don't know what's on the BC. Maybe it's Abrahams- Weippeart.

Maybe it's just Weippeart on the BC, but they used the name Abrahams after Chris and Kristi split.

Don't know if a bio father would have to be included when making an official name change.

It started at $3000 as of July 04, and is now over $5000.

Since Kiesha was born in April '04, they wouldn't have recieved the bonus for her.

Now it's paid in installments over 13 weeks and is $5,294 (from July 2010).

".......The introduction, in 2004 of the maternity payment now known as the 'baby bonus', whereby mothers recieved an initial $3000 per new child."

IMO, there's no way that the police would have questioned these payment installments, since they clearly show up on bank statements as coming from Centrelink/ Family assistance.

butwhatif? - Wow, I'm out of the loop. I thought it had started at $5000 and had been reduced in recent years, but its gone up. (I think we should dump this program, believe me, I've seen many cases of this money NOT going to the care and welfare of the baby)

As to Keisha's last name, I thought her grandmother, on her father's side, had stated in a news article that Keisha's last name was really Weippeart and the grandmother said the media were reporting it incorrectly. But who knows, the parents may have been a defacto couple and his name may never have been on the birth certificate. We're not talking about conservative/traditional people here - no judgment, but if Kirsti and Chris were still together when she was born I would have thought his last name would have been on there.

You could be right about a name change (child benefits and all that) and I would presume you would need the natural fathers permission with an under aged child to do this.

When would Kristi and Robert start receiving payments for Lxxx?

It takes 21 days from the date the paperwork is sent in, and then back paid to the birth date.

They would likely be paid in installments...

Paying Baby Bonus by Instalments

Baby Bonus is payable to new mothers as a lump sum. However, in some circumstances, it may be more appropriate to pay Baby Bonus in equal fortnightly instalments. All applicants 17 years or under are paid in 13 equal fortnightly instalments.

Claimants experiencing any of the following issues may be assessed to determine the most beneficial payment option for the customer (i.e. lump sum or instalment):
History of experiencing domestic or family violence;
Substance addiction;
Intellectual disability;
Gambling problem;
Mental illness;
Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless;
Previously had or currently has a child subject to child protection;
History of difficulties managing competing financial requirements;
or
Situations where a customer may be vulnerable to exploitation
If a Centrelink officer becomes aware that a pregnant customer is experiencing any of the issues outlined above and/or where concerns are raised about the vulnerability of the customer in receiving a large lump sum; then the Centrelink officer should refer the customer for a professional assessment when the customer claims Baby Bonus.

When the customer makes a claim for Baby Bonus, they will be invited to discuss their options with a Centrelink social worker or appropriate specialist officer (such as the Indigenous Customer Service Officer or Multicultural Service Officer). All claimants for Baby Bonus who are aged 17 years or under are contacted. The assessment process must commence within a week of the Baby Bonus claim being made, and the interview must occur within two weeks of the claim, except in extraordinary circumstances. The interview may be in person, by telephone, or by some other appropriate avenue.

The primary purpose of this professional assessment is to determine whether the customer needs additional support including referral to other organisations, as well as to assess whether it would be beneficial for the customer to receive Baby Bonus by instalment, rather than as a lump sum.

Customers may decide of their own accord that fortnightly instalments would be more practical for them. However, if this is not the case, and the social worker or other appropriate specialist officer believes that, given the customer's circumstances, a lump sum payment would be inappropriate, the social worker can make a discretionary decision that the customer should be paid by instalments. The outcome of the assessment may alternatively be that it would be beneficial for the customer to receive Baby Bonus as a lump sum. It is expected that close liaison will occur between the social worker and other specialist officers where the assessment process results in a decision that payment should be by instalments

If the customer is not willing to discuss their situation with a social worker or appropriate specialist officer, the customer should receive Baby Bonus by fortnightly instalments, rather than as a lump sum. This would only occur after several attempts to contact the customer.

Baby Bonus can also be made by instalments at the claimant's request.

KIESHA Abrahams' mother and stepfather were interviewed by police again yesterday, one month after the six-year-old vanished.

Kristi Abrahams and Robert Smith went to Blacktown police station where they were questioned by detectives.

The Daily Telegraph has learned Mr Smith's mother Rebecca and her partner Jim Taupau were spoken to at Mt Druitt police station.

It is understood detectives went over the statements they had previously provided.

Kiesha's father Chris Weippeart and his mother Liz were questioned again two days ago.

Police have not identified any suspects in this case.

September 01, 2010: It's been exactly a month since six-year-old Kiesha Abrahams was reported missing and today police re-interviewed her mother and step-father

http://video.au.msn.com/watch/video/police-re-interview-kieshas-mother/xksh5vz

Kristi gives her usual two finger salute to the media.

Thanks for the link. She's such a charmer, isn't she? :innocent:

I had been reading on one of the FB groups yesterday that they were back in Seven Hills, but didn't want to post it, because it was rumour.

So police say we shouldn't read anything into Kristi and Robs latest interviews?

Sorry po-po, but we will......I will anyway.

Wonder if Chris said anything in his interview, that led the detectives to re-question them?

Did they come back from Canberra specifically for the interviews? Or had they just had enough of sleepy, quiet Canberra?
Was the interview just a ruse to get them back to Sydney so that the police and authorities have more power to tail them, and protect the kids?

Or is some of the evidence back now?

Why is Kristi always so peed off? I really do understand not liking cameras shoved in your face constantly, but seriously, this woman is not doing herself any favours by always appearing so hostile and angry.

If she's like that in public, what the heck is she like behind closed doors with defenceless children? I certainly wouldn't want to be alone with her.

I don't think Kristi is likely to ever tell the truth....even if they have a boat-load of evidence against her, or someone close to her. And I believe whole-heartedly she knows EXACTLY what happened to Kiesha.

I've got a feeling the police are getting closer to breaking this wide open.
Seems like they are trying to play good cop with them atm, for appearances sake.

I wonder why they didn't take them out the back exit the way they did for Chris and his mum? Or did Kristi just storm out?

Please let there be an arrest soon, even if for other charges like neglect for Kiesha not being taken to school.

And pleeeeeaaase take the other children away from them before it's too late.
Can you imagine what she would have been like when she got home from that interview?

ALL JMO

ETA: Quote from the video:

"...the reason to speak to them was that the investigation had thrown up a number of matters which they needed to check out with Kiesha's family".

I can't stand the thought that the two little kids are still living with Kristi and Robert....that's just wrong.

Hopefully every time they speak to the police they mess up just a little bit of their story and that all their conflicting statements will be used against them, no way are these two smart enough to keep their stories straight, and flipping the bird at the media ~ well that's just fuelling the fire isn't it.

It's only a matter of time before these two are arrested IMO, I'm hoping sooner rather than later.

I wonder how they got to Canberra? Flew/drove? Long way for a couple of days. I'm guessing Police must have called them back for the interviews. Love your idea that the police wanted them close by to monitor them - very good point.

You would think Kristi would be fronting up to the media to get Keisha's picture out there and get as much media attention as possible if this was indeed an abduction - but no, she swears at them, gives them rude hand gestures and hides her face.

Surely, surely the police can't be far from arresting someone/s soon?

BBM- My bets are on Rob claiming that the cash deposits came from his Mum and her partner....A loan while waiting for the baby bonus.

Screenshot of Kristi flipping the bird at media once again:

kristiflippingthebird2.png

I couldn't help but notice that Kristi is wearing the same style hair clip as I found at the search. I know that thousands of people wear them, but it just caught my attention.

Another quote from the video:

"Police today all accepted the fact that it's highly unlikely that she will be found alive, but did stress that the investigation would continue until this case is solved."

IMO, for them to be saying this they must have some evidence that she is deceased, rather than her having been sold.

Yeah.....flipping the bird is sure a class act Kristi, it makes her look like just the exact kind of person who would murder a child IMO ~ also I really think the chances of Kiesha being sold were always slim to none, I think they went too far and Kiesha died at their hands, it seems from witnesses and past reports that both of them were capable of this, the little girl should never have been left in their care to begin with. IMO.
