A whole year has gone by. Where are you Leisl? Much love to you and your family Eccsci.*advertiser censored*

There's an article in the central coast express advocate today about leisl. It says that she parked her car, walked down Bryant drive and got into a white ute. I don't remember reading about the ute before or did I just miss it? Also says the ute driver is known to police. I'm phone posting but will look for an online article today.

I've seen nothing about the Ute before, it had been said that she went towards the Supa Centre but no mention of the Ute.

So this person would be the last to see her, why has there been no mention before this I wonder.

I have never heard about the ute either. Trying to apply more public pressure now? I hate how this has been handled. I hope eccsi is having some luck with the lawyer.

Just to clarify, is the cctv footage from the last day Leisl saw her dad?

I guess it must be if the footage shows her parking her car then walking down the road to the ute. I wonder why we get to hear about this now?

I'm wondering if they've released more info trying to put pressure on a POI or maybe jog someone's memory? Or to get someone else to crack and spill the info they have on the POI?

It certainly is interesting and makes you wonder why this wasn't released earlier, surely that info would have generated more leads from the public!

I hope that this does mean that they're getting closer to some answers for eccssi and family. Hugs to you all eccssi.

BBM - This is a problem, surely this should have been released earlier to raise public awareness !!! 12 months later and they have released the fact that she was seen getting into a vehicle - Why not release this earlier to ask the public if they have seen anything while they had a chance of remembering. :notgood:

I'm hoping it was a strategic move and not an error in judgement!!

I heard about the shooting on the news this morning - as soon as I heard Wallarah my ears pricked but really just thought it was me being suspicious.

This now puts someone else into the suspect frame IMO

Me too. Can't believe they are connected and that he was named.

****, wow, OK then... This is in interesting twist!

Mel, I guess it is OK to sleuth him now.

Most of what he use to have on facebook is now gone- wish I had have kept screen shots. Not that there was anything significant, just an insight into the person.

Shooting connection to missing Central Coast woman

A MAN questioned by police over the disappearance of missing Central Coast woman Leisl Smith has been found shot at his rural property.

The 43-year-old was discovered by paramedics at his Wallarah property with a gunshot wound to his stomach at 11.20pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries and released late yesterday. Detectives were speaking to him last night over the apparent shooting but police refused to elaborate on any possible motive or reason.

The man was also interviewed by detectives in April over the disappearance of Ms Smith, who was last seen alive on August 19, 2012, when she left her home at Wallarah, on the southern fringes of Lake Macquarie.

His Wallarah property, and four others linked to him, including near Clarence Town and Merriwa, have been searched by dogs and police officers as part of the investigation into what happened to the 23-year-old.

No charges have been laid against the man, or anyone else, over Ms Smith's disappearance.

<modsnip>

It is rather ironic that the discharging of a firearm took place on the evening before the anniversary of Leisl's disappearance. JS has been under considerable pressure.

Could I suggest that strike force Wehl is perhaps exploring different angles - driving some to take action and others to re-act.

Does this count as JC being identified as a POI in MSM rather than just rumour? Can we discuss/sleuth him as a POI now?

The latest report states he was questioned by police. It doesn't mention anyone as having been named as a POI or suspect.

Until police state they have a suspect or POI the rules stay the same.
