Lol, yesterday Dianne insisted she met him as WW and he had no other aliases, but she'd always called him Ric for no particular reason. Today he says he introduced himself as FdH and she did not know about any other names.

IMO, I suspect that the point of all this, is so Casselden can demonstrate:
1. he had prior conviction records but was deceitful and hid them in all immigration applications
2. he was using different names to deceive authorities and people, including Marion.

Basically, he is deceitful, regularly and to everyone. So his testimony and excuses are bull. He scammed Marion.

He might be detached because they were his earlier victims? I suspect they weren't real relationships to him, but a con he could benefit from.
