That is my thought exactly Tootsie. It must be camera footage viewed after the event, that obviously the truck driver didn't see. IMO

Do they have cameras in trucks for general waste? I can't find that information. I wish I could, just to confirm. I can only find that they have cameras in recycling trucks.

They have stated that Lesley was placed in a general waste bin. They might know that from blood residue.

Just checked with my Garbo in NSW, and there are cameras inside the body of the garbage trucks and also the recycling trucks. He feels confident that Queensland would have them also, but I will try and confirm.

I think they must have cameras …. and the evidence of blood would help confirm the situation …

Is it possible that the rubbish truck hit and killed Lesley? Then the driver panicked and threw Lesley into a bin?
I think that we discounted that earlier, but I can't think why we would have discounted it.

Just thinking that an early morning rubbish truck operator might be just as inattentive/sleepy/impaired as any other driver.

They have seized the rubbish truck. Maybe to do forensics on the exterior of the truck.

“I thank those members of the public … we have so far interviewed,” he added.

“Our doorknocks in the area are coming towards the end.

“It was important the information relevant to the location of her body was kept quiet across the weekend until we were able to exhaust people’s memory with respect to their recollections on Tuesday the 28th of March.”

The wording does make me think that someone possibly saw something????

Police say there is “strong evidence” Ms Trotter’s body was in a rubbish bin near her home on Maryvale St, Toowong, when it was collected on Tuesday, March 28 as part of a weekly collection.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said police did not have any suspects, but “could not rule out foul play”.

“Ongoing investigations can reveal that on the morning of Tuesday, the 28th of March this year, the body of a female we believe was Lesley Trotter was located in a general waste wheelie bin,” he said.

It was evident she was deceased. Due to the positioning of the body, we can’t rule out foul play.

Later that morning that bin was collected by a rubbish truck.”

I keep thinking that wording “…positioning of the body…”’tells us they know more. And how do they know this? Camera inside the garbage truck?

I can't imagine the shock of whoever found the bin and saw what was inside, ie blood or something more

I totally agree …. They know more …. but keeping it close to the vest…
It is like they now know that dear Ms Trotter was inside the bin before it was collected …

And the bin collection and contents has then been confirmed on camera footage ..

IMO

How on earth do they know she was in the garbage bin? It is as if someone saw it... and the wording is as if the body was seen in there before the bin was collected by the garbage truck. IMO
Agree …. Possibly someone lifted the lid innocently to add extra rubbish, saw something….. slammed the lid shut …. But didn’t report it straight away???

Possible for all sorts of reasons …..

It is also possible that the reason Police ended up back at the residence was that someone did report the sighting later???
imo

It may be that someone's dash cam recorded someone placing a 'large item' into a bin.
The car owner may not have even seen it, but may have noticed it upon review of their dash cam footage later on, when asked.

I think it is possible/probable that they have some kind of video that was reviewed a bit later.

The police are very hot on the dash cam videos, still stopping cars to ask for more (as per the presser).
