It's October ... John Chardon is scheduled for a court appearance soon. Maybe we'll get another snippet of information.

"The husband of missing Gold Coast woman Novy Chardon has been charged with unrelated offences.

John Chardon faced Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday.

He was released on bail and his case set for a committal hearing on October 10.
Fairfax Media cannot reveal the nature of the charges for legal reasons.

Mr Chardon faced court in May on other, unrelated charges."

Can anyone find any reports on yesterdays committal hearing? It states in the MSM that SouthAussie put up October 10th - I can't find anything.

Why won't they say what the charges are? Is this an Aussie thing? Novy is a very beautiful lady!!! WTH was she doing with someone like HIM? Grrrr!!! I pray she gets justice and those children are safe!

This is a sick <bleep> in more than one way. Ever looked at his company website? Just read the 2nd paragraph on the About Us page .... sick! Who puts something like that in their company profile? What kind of person thinks that is funny? Or professional? Honestly, his customers should be told a bit more about the man behind the product - don't think they'd support his products if they knew what he is like.

SBM. That's just terrible!!!! No regard for any life, apparently.

2Hope4 - Yes, an Aussie thing.. The terms of service here forbid us talking about those charges, as Chardon's case is still in court.

Hopefully soon, we'll be able to discuss it. I hope he's found guilty of -something- and isn't off the hook, god knows how many crimes he's gotten away with over the years.

Mountain Misst - Dec hearing? You'll be there? Awesome.

Not sure if this already out there, but it seems Novy's car might have been moved after she went missing, so that's interesting:

Detectives believe Mrs Chardon's Volvo SUV may have been moved in the time between her disappearance and the evening of February 11, when it was found near Nerang railway station, more than 20 kilometres from her home.

I honestly doubt Chardon 'vanished' his wife on his own. He had help, IMO.

For those new to this thread and background in this case, there are two occasions when JC had total responsibility for his young children. The first time was after his first wife died in 1996. To the best of my knowledge, these children are not estranged from their father and work in his business.

Some time later JC met and married Novy and they had children together. Since Novy's disappearance in February 2013, JC has again been the sole parent of his young children.

Yes, as Ausgirl said ... an Aussie thing. Especially if anyone involved in the charges needs protection or public anonymity or is under 18.

<shudder>

:bump:

Bumping for you Novy. Think about you often, and hope so much that your children are okay and that you are found very soon, wherever you are, so that the that disappeared you can pay for his crime.

I hope so much that any accomplice(s) to your disappearance, whoever helped move your car around, will listen to their conscience(s) and do the right thing. Call Crimestoppers .. do something to help the police .. they need your help, it is never too late.

I am watching the news. A neighbour said that he or his girlfriend(will clarify with link asap) heard a 'muffled gunshot'.
(Quote above from post #13 in this thread)

This whole case sounds extremely fishy to me. It seems we have an obviously disturbed husband who:

- has a wife who is filing for divorce and disappears, reportedly, carrying a Samsung Android Tablet and an iPhone without leaving a single digital trace of her whereabouts

- doesn't report his wife missing (a friend of her does this few days later)

- is in possession of illegal firearms (or so it seems)

- leaves for Indonesia in a hurry before the police is involved (from goldcoast.com.au: A neighbour, Adrian Scott, said Mr Chardon had left the family home in a hurry on Friday night, not waiting for the garage door to fully open. "He reversed so fast he took off the top of his car," Mr Scott said.)
http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2013/02/12/447076_gold-coast-lead-story.html

- talks about his wife in past tense and suddenly reverts to present (the famous quote "I loved her very much... I still love her actually")
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/que...stranged-wife-now-missing-20130212-2eav3.html

- was about to lose a lot of money, parts of his business and possibly also his kids (at least partly) due to a divorce

- is considered very abrupt by his peers (from goldcoast.com.au: "I think he comes across as dominating, quite rude and crass. He's very abrupt." and from GoldCoastGirl in post #211 of this thread: "Mr Chardon was a very strange man that made most feel uncomfortable around him. He was often very rude to Novy in front of others)

- had a previous wife that died young due to a "suicide" (a drug overdose - JC might not have been activly involved in the "suicide" but it would certainly surprise me if he wasn't a great part of the reasons for it)

- is (or was) attracted by, and married to, a very young female who was less than half his age when they married (24 vs 55). (I find it a bit disturbing that Novy was just slightly older than his oldest daughter)

- is in an unhappy and (IMHO) unbalanced marriage
http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2013/03/02/448030_gold-coast-news.html

- never appears on family photos (Novy had plenty of photos from the kid's birthdays and family holiday's on her FB page - can't find a single one where her husband is present)
https://www.facebook.com/novy.a.chardon

- uses foul language when interviewed ("Tell her to get your stupid bloody arse home mate ... Haha, no just tell her she's gotta come home" + "All I will say is that I did not f---ing do anything to her and we don’t know where the f--- she is")

- sticks his tongue out after a camera crew - see from 0:48 to 0:50 in this video clip:
Husband held, quizzed over Novy - YouTube

- drives like a maniac - notice the wheelspin when he reverses out of the garage from 0:37 to 0:39 in this clip:

This case is just insanely filled with suspicious oddities. It surprises me that the forensic experts couldn't find anything in the Coomera home but I guess the delay in police involvement, theoretically, made it possible for a killer to get rid of evidence and traces. If Novy was killed in a shower or bathtub, perhaps shot at an angle where the bullet wouldn't fully penetrate but instead remain in the body, it might have been possible to wash all evidence away. I have a gut feeling that Novy is buried in a remote area of the Gold Coast hinterland or perhaps dumped in a barrel filled up with bricks as dead weight on the bottom of Advancetown Lake. In my opinion this wasn't a hired kill or with the help of accomplices. This was a mad man's work done on a dark night when everyone else was asleep. Only a mad man would be able to keep such horrible secrets on his own.

I pray for you Novy - hope you are safe and sound - but I'm afraid we won't see you alive again in this world. God bless you.

Hi there Good! And welcome to WS, your posts have been very thoughtful!

I agree with all you've said. My gut told me from day 1 that JC had a hand in this, and every bit of news so far has done nothing but shore that feeling up with facts as you've listed above. Except, I do think he had help. And I don't think he's mad as such -- just cold and greedy.

And OHO-- so now we know he was arrested for illegal -guns- as WELL as "those other charges" that we still can't talk about yet. Gotta wonder how long we'll have to wait for msm to mention those...

Sounds to me like the cops are well and truly out to peg Mr. Chardon for anything and everything they can. Leverage for a confession? I hope so, in one way, as that'd be good to have the case cleared up. But bad in a way, as that sort of pressure is put on when they don't have much of anything else to go on...

Thank you :newhere: - my pleasure
I do think he had help
I really hope he did. We need somebody who has vital information to speak out... I wish a family member is burning in with information that is becoming such a heavy burden that relief needs to be found.

Welcome Good!! Thanks for the illegal firearms info!

Certainly paints quite a picture doesn't it? I'm sure the police have put together exactly what has happened ... they just need enough proof to bring this to court for her murder.

I think some people close to JC were probably involved in covering up the crime associated with Novy's disappearance - at the very least, helping to move Novy's car around. I'm sure it would have been easy to convince them that Novy had 'no right' to make a claim against the business in her impending divorce actions - that would probably have been enough to gain cooperation and silence IMO. If not, a little intimidation from the would do it.

I found this news article dated May 20, 2013 that I think could be related to the case:

"A 65-year-old man has been charged on the Gold Coast today with rape and child sex offences dating back 15 years.
Police charged the Upper Coomera man with three counts of rape and five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 years of age after several alleged incidents in the late 1990’s.
It is believed the alleged offences occurred during 1998 and 1999. He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow."

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/...s-after-15-years/story-e6freoof-1226647153928

Try to Google a certain last name adding the text "three counts of rape and five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 years of age"....

I’ve spent some time trying to do the sums to see if the has always had a propensity for young women.

From my calculations, he was probably about 8 years older than his first wife. Currently 65 years old, he would have been about 48 when his first wife ‘died’ at 40 years old in 1996.

He was 31 years older than Novy ….

“Mr Chardon registered Candan Industries Pty Ltd, and company searches show Indonesian-born Novy Aristananda Chardon became a co-director and shareholder in October 2002.
He was 55 and she had turned 24.”

And I wonder if his current serious charges involve young women. Only time will tell, I guess.

Honestly, if his older daughters know anything about any propensities he may have, they should do the right thing and reveal whatever they know to help protect their half-siblings.

Just to add a little more info to the time line:

"Maureen Monica Chardon -- died on June 23, 1996, aged 40 years."
http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2013/03/02/448030_gold-coast-news.html

"SES crews searched the area behind the theme park on February 22.
That week, police interviewed Mr Chardon’s adult daughters, Angela, 27, and Candice, 28, from his previous marriage"
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/novys-friends-fear-the-worst-20130513-2ji7o.html

JC's daughters from his first marriage must have been about the age of 10 and 11 when they lost their mother in 1996.

"Mr Chardon, 65, took their son, 7, and daughter, 9, to Indonesia on Friday, two days after his wife, 34, disappeared from the couple's Upper Coomera home."
http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/...er-disappearance/story-e6freon6-1226575725161

Novy and JC's joint children 7 and 9 when they lost their mother. Novy's daughter turned 10th last month.
Heartbreaking to see the photos from her 9th birthday on Novy's FB page with the words "9 birthday party..... Bless your heart baby...."

Inox' FB page:

Am I the only one who finds it a bit misplaced/inappropriate to post photos of the Australian flag and writing "INOX IS PROUDLY AUSTRALIAN OWNED" on front of the official FB page considering the co-director / stepmother / wife is from Indonesia? It reminds me of a pickup van similar to JC's that I was driving behind in Nerang yesterday. It had the Southern Cross stars taped in the back window and two stickers "If you don't love it LEAVE!" + "This is Australia. We eat meat, drink beer, and speak F#&@%¤* English!"

<modsnip>

Thank you for sleuthing this case. It's a horrible crime, and I have no doubt this poor woman has been murdered, and no doubt as to who is behind it. It's just a waiting game now, until there's some evidence to prove it.

I wish to heck they could find Novy.. I wonder if they're still even looking for her. :(
