Then look at the ute parked in the driveway of that house on google earth.

Unless I am trying to make the pieces fit it looks like they may have lived in the house at some stage and that is the business ute parked in the driveway.

Thoughts anyone ?........

The front of the tray is different the one in the driveway has a wire front and the actual tray in front is higher, and it seems (not sure) that the one at Inox has roof racks.

Tray and cab height seem a little different as well.

Sorry WWGY - I don't think it is the same.

Agree with sleepinoz - I think they look slightly different. I went through the old videos with John Chardon in his ute and compared with all the ute's on the road I could find on Google Street view (it appears everyone on that street has a ute). Unfortunately no match.
 
Sorry Sleepinoz and Good ! I respectfully disagree.

I've just been studying them side by side.

Both utes have a high tray behind the cabin
Both have the metal frame with the wire / still running horizontally between the window and tray
Both have square side mirrors
Both have the same shape rear window
Both have the same front door panels - shape and detail

I agree that the house ute cabin may look slightly higher but I think this is an illusion because it is parked on a slope.

Have a look at them side by side. I used 2 computers.

I had to magnify the website pic next to Google Street view. There are quite a bit of similarity but I think the support bars on the tray (three on each side) look black on one and grey on the other. It could be lighting or age of course
 
News conference right now on ABC News: "We know that the male occupant of the house has met Mr Chardon in the past"
"We don't have any information that Novy Chardon is buried there"

FWIW, I don't think they are the same vehicle. The bars across the back of the cab look different to me. I'm not even sure that the trays are the same colour....(but that could be the lighting).

Thanks for the photos.

I think the difference in the supports is only due to light. Those supports are usually made of the same metal as the tray back. I think in the business photo they look black because we've had to zoom in so much.

Police have held a press conference in relation to the Novy Chardon case. They have confirmed John Chardon, Mrs Chardon's husband, has previously met with the owner of the home that they are currently excavating. They say they are acting on information that a vehicle is buried in the yard, not information that Mrs Chardon is buried in the yard. Detectives and uniformed police remain on the scene and forensice and scenes of crime officers are on standby. Excavating continues this morning and an update will be provided once, and if, the suspect vehicle has been located.

Press conference overview ...

Custody of children shared between adult daughter and Chardon.
Court decided o/seas travel ... nothing stopping Chardon from travelling.
Info about vehicle developed over last few days.
So far have located vehicle parts buried there.
Definitely something still buried in yard.
Lots of digging still to be done.
If can't locate vehicle in exact spot they are digging, will widen their circle of digging.
Inappropriate to say a body is entombed in car - they have NO INFO that Novy is buried there.
Will update further after vehicle is extracted.

That press conference was very interesting and telling.

Not notifying Mr Chardon about this development seems strange unless he is a suspect.
I would assume that the person closest to the missing would be informed of any development in the case. Interesting that police have no plans to contact him at this stage.

I wonder how John and Gerard BC will get on when they meet ;)

You're right - the one on the right is definitely a Ford - you can see that written on the mudflaps. (I didn't even notice that before you said Ford!!!:floorlaugh:)

And the slight curve of the ute cab body at the front on the one on the left does look like a Hilux IMO.

We shall see, I guess.........
 
I've googled and found a photo of John Chardon getting into a Toyota Hilux.

I agree they are different cars now, sorry for doubting you :blushing:

Thank you for the video clips SouthAussie. You're right - that does indeed look like a small moped - in some kind of "Jack Daniels" cover or decoration. We know that John has had one DUI incident in the past so I'm not really surprised to see a Whiskey brand as decoration. Quite interesting he had a small moped in the garage when police raided his house.
 
Here's another with the Ford on a different angle - It looks squarer in the bonnet area, but otherwise it could be the same car. (Ctrl+ to make it larger)

In Google Earth history the ute seems to have been in the driveway from about 2011

The pool was installed prior to 2009 and has anyone noticed the truck up the side of the house. I can't see any markings on it though.
 
Just catching up after seeing the news today about digging up the yard looking for a car.
Why would someone bury a car. If there was evidence, eg blood, DNA in it that someone wanted to hide wouldn't it be easier to just burn the car somewhere off the beaten track. Burying a car seems an odd and labour intensive thing to do.
To bury a car to hide a body in it just seems very odd. A body can be buried anywhere much quicker and easier than a car.
It's all very strange.
However I hope they find Novy's body in the car. She is surely dead and finding her remains is a good thing.
