More confusing dates in this article, and a couple of classic quotes -

SARAH Cafferkey sat in a sunny beer garden on the day she disappeared, casually chatting to her older, muscular companion and sipping a drink.
The publican had seen her in Bacchus Marsh's Young and Main Hotel regularly, but was less familiar with the man she was with. They left after one drink and the publican thought little of it, until Ms Cafferkey was reported missing the next morning.

Hunter, 47, who has been described as a self-absorbed braggart, was led down the steps of a small flat on a quiet Hawthorn East street about 12.30pm.
He had been staying with an associate, one of his few friends, in the second-storey flat, which is in a brick block in Caroline Street.

The self-described Casanova had been identified in The Age on Tuesday as a person of interest in the case, with police confirming they were searching for him as he had allegedly lived in the house where Ms Cafferkey's remains were found.

Saturday 10th -

TUESDAY: A Bacchus Marsh local claims Sarah Cafferkey was seen with the 'person of interest' sought in relation to her murder, Steven James Hunter, 46, the Saturday night after she disappeared.

Elise, a Bacchus Marsh local, told Neil Mitchell she had heard Hunter was seen with Ms Cafferkey at a pub on the Saturday night - a day after she first went missing.

"From all the information that I've gathered, someone close to me saw him Saturday night with Sarah at the pub sitting right next to her talking to her and that was the night she went missing," she said.

Elise said she didn't know Hunter personally, but said she was acquainted with Ms Cafferkey.

THE mother of Sarah Cafferkey has described her daughter as a beautiful person who only saw the good in people.

Single mum Noelle Dickson spoke of her grief hours after a 47-year-old man was arrested in relation to the 22-year-old's death.

I'm just thinking about my poor little girl. She's all I ever had and now he's taken her and I'm never going to be able to see her again, she won't get married, she won't have anything now, Ms Dickson said.

This is my little girl ... I don't have anymore and nobody deserves this.

She had her whole life ahead of her.
She said Sarah had loved acting and writing, and had hoped to get married and have children one day.

She wanted to get married and she loved kids and ... the dog, of course, that was her baby. She took it everywhere.

MSM Update

Hunter, wearing a white forensic jumpsuit because his clothes have been seized by police, did not speak during Tuesday night's hearing, except to answer yes or no to questions from bail justice Adam Trumble.

The heavy-set Hunter, of medium height, was barefoot and had peroxided blonde hair. He had a graze to his right cheekbone and the right side of his chin.
Senior Constable O'Mahoney said he had made admissions to the murder.

He had allegedly lived in the house where Ms Cafferkey's remains were found.

I feel a bit silly really - while I was complaining about lack of information available, IMO it does sound like the police were possibly onto SH quite quickly but played their cards very close until Sarah was found.

(from The Canberra Times)
That sounds like the publican could have called in what he had seen as soon as Sarah was reported missing.
I'm also embarrassed to say that I didn't have any alarm bells ringing when I checked out his fb page. Not that there was much there, but apart from the irky pic on the garden wall (shuddering now we know what we do) I thought he sounded like a soppy middle aged bloke.
The "casanova" references are sickening, as I imagine he fancied he could charm this pretty young girl into anything -which is maybe when everything went horribly nasty.

With reference to the multiple residences - maybe he was in the habit of crashing at other people's places sometimes when he was working nearby? I seem to remember one of his fb posts being about hating the early starts and mentioning Beaufort?

If you guys go to his FB profile. Click Maps.

You will see his "place in da marsh" this is datedas months in 2011.
If you click on the number 3 on the maps it comes up as Point Cook.

So I am guessing that he lived last year in da marsh : ) and recently moved to Point Cook.

I think he moved around a lot.
He also has this marked this place in Ballarat as home.

Thanks Curiousasacat. Good sleuthing. Also on the SH Map No:7 says "Stalking you in that tree outside your bedroom window" and another says "Rape Dungeon". IMO is evidence of predator thinking.

Narcissistic personality disorder type with grandiose sense of self-importance

:maddening:

Ex girlfriend V would be feeling lucky to be alive today .. I'm thinking he took his frustrations at that rejection out on Sarah, the dirty worm that he is.

Look on google maps at 5 Simpson street Bacchus Marsh. Looks like a familiar car as at PC
