This article discusses much about the actual property where the Trains lived. ..including tunnels ?? I do wonder if this is going to break into a bigger story of these "end of world" views that Gareth seemed to be preaching.... (oh NO, not again !!)

On TV news this morning (Ch7) they are saying that the police are combing the 100 acre property. Looking for cameras and booby traps. Trying to determine how premeditated this attack on the police was.

I also noticed in an article I posted here yesterday, it was stated that these gunmen shot the helpful neighbour in the back.
Which sickened me as much as killing the two police officers while they were laying wounded on the ground.

Gutless, disgusting perpetrators killing soft targets!

so despicable.

The Qld Police Union says that the property had a sophisticated surveillance system ... but they can't say more than that at the moment, due to the ongoing investigation.

“It was a sophisticated surveillance system and that is very, very concerning to us, knowing that this ruthless, murderous trio went to this extent with a view to I firmly believe, to take police out"

Surely shooting someone in the back has got to be one of the lowest possible acts? Is it a war crime to shoot someone who is fleeing with their back to you? Am asking because I have no clue. TIA.

Trip wires & a kill zone.....I have no words

Those poor cops & neighbour stood no chance

There’s a lot in here. Reports of concerns with Gareth Train’s behaviour, specifically in regards to his conduct at the schools he and/or Stacey worked at, allegations Gareth perpetrated domestic violence against Stacey and was inserting himself into the schools she taught at. So far it appears Nathaniel Train had a positive reputation up until he quit last year. It’s all very troubling.

Cop-killing conspiracy theorist Gareth Train bombarded his younger brother Nathaniel’s wife with cruel threats after she reported her estranged husband missing, it has emerged.

The officers were sent to the home in Wieambilla - three hours west of Brisbane - after Nathaniel’s wife reported him missing to NSW Police.

She had not heard from the 46-year-old since October, but hadn’t seen him in the flesh for a year.

Shortly after police made a public appeal for help finding Nathaniel, his estranged wife was hit with a barrage of messages from her brother-in-law Gareth.

“She’d stopped hearing from him, so she got a missing person’s report,” a teacher who knows Nathaniel’s wife told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Then [Gareth] started sending a barrage of messages over her doing it. They were quite threatening messages.”

OMG! He butchered the pigs alive :(
And no one thought to tell possibly:

1/ the police
2/ the RSPCA
3/ the Education Department

How did this Gareth person hold and retain a Blue Card to enable him to work with the department and at a school, when he is out there in the school community butchering pigs alive? I mean - presumably there’s not an animal cruelty clause as part of a Blue Card application, but perhaps there should be. *please correct me on this part if I’ve got it wrong, posters*

Also, Nathaniel Train and Stacey Train would have had criminal history checks every few years (I’m not sure it is every 12 months or every 3 years up in Queensland) to retain their Queensland College of Teachers registration, to enable them to continue to work as a school leader, teacher or head of curriculum at a school.

How did they continually come up clean on their criminal history checks?

I feel like there is a gap in the system here and three DoE (Department of Education) employees fell all the way through those cracks. I think what the media haven’t explored much yet (and they’ve delved into it a little bit) is that two out of three of these “extremists” (IMO) and that’s what they seemed to be, were teaching, guiding and leading children. For years.

What other potential damage have they done as educators and school leaders that we don’t even know about yet? And also importantly - what have they been teaching the children in those communities where they worked? Or did for example Stacey Train (who IMO did not seem quite as radicalised as Gareth but more radicalised and for longer than Nathaniel), keep her world views very quiet at school?

Maybe they have no “criminal history” as such, but more complaints might come out in a thorough investigation of their histories. Maybe some of it went unreported. A couple of things stand out though:
- The schools they worked in are rural and remote schools, and some in disadvantaged communities. It would be hard to get teachers out there. Perhaps behaviours in teachers would be ignored or tolerated longer by the Education Department in these disadvantaged communities than they would elsewhere.
- In small towns, bystanders might be less likely to report. Note the woman in the ABC article who alleges she saw Gareth drag Stacey up the stairs by her hair, but did not report because she didn’t want to get involved. If Gareth is assaulting his wife in public without consequence, what was his behaviour like behind closed doors?
- Stacey would not be the first victim of DV who found her sole source of safety in aligning with the perpetrator. Better he shoots police and butchers pigs than taking his knife to you.
- If the allegations about Gareth inserting himself into schools where Stacey taught are correct, then it is evidence of his need to control not only Stacey but possibly others as well. It’s not uncommon for DV perpetrators to insert themselves into the partner’s workplace like that. The allegations that he sent abusive messages to Nathaniel’s current wife also mark him out as a family violence perpetrator.
- Just my opinion, but I’ve always suspected some of those who rant about police states and government control and the infringement of their rights actually enjoy a bit of control themselves - as long as they are the ones who are in control.

Sounds to me that the Education Department might have just moved them around, instead of letting them go, for perhaps just the reason you state.

(About Nathaniel) ..... “They ended up stepping him down and moving him and the deputy principal from the school because of the constant trouble Indigenous students and families were having with him,” Ms Kari claimed.

“They were not subject to any Departmental disciplinary proceedings,” the Department spokesperson said.

A funeral service for two constables killed in a shooting rampage in rural Queensland will be held on December 21.

Constables Rachel McCrow, 29, and Matthew Arnold, 26, were shot dead after responding to a missing person report at a property at Wieambilla on Monday.

A local resident, Alan Dare, was also killed.

The funeral service with full police honours will be held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

“Specialist investigators are examining how long Gareth, Nathaniel and Stacey Train knew police were coming to the compound after it was revealed earlier on Thursday that the property was riddled with security cameras as well as housing a massive cache of weapons and ammunition.

Driveway barricades were designed to slow a vehicle’s path, with the surveillance cameras alerting the Train family when a car was approaching.”

Every year, Stacey Train’s mother would call the mobile of her estranged daughter and leave a message on her birthday.

But, according to another family member, if her son-in-law, Gareth, picked up she would quickly hang up.

Stacey’s parents are understood to have had limited contact with Stacey for many years, which a relative has put down to Gareth’s “controlling” behaviour.

Stacey’s sisters were understood to have been at their parents’ home in North Queensland when they heard the news that she had been shot dead.

According to a relative, the family is no closer to understanding how their quiet girl became involved in multiple murders. But they rue the day she ever met the Train family.
