I was also shocked to hear Julene rocked up at a local Logan supermarket. She was accosted in the car park by locals. More front than Myers. Why would you do that after what this family did? Show their faces locally??

I would've paid money to see that! Lovin' those locals. "Accosted". Lol.
Is there a Walmart in town?

Maybe she should buy groceries on line in future?

What I'm seeing is there are two (+) types of murderer,

1) the one who thinks he/she can fool the police and everyone else by going in front of the cameras

or

2) the other who hides and runs from everything.

RT is similar to, say, Mark Galante stood beside a mannequin that was dressed in the clothes of his missing wife, Jody, in a public appeal to find her, he fronted media cameras thinking he was smarter and could out-fool everyone. All along he was the culprit. Our coppers got him.
http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/husband-on-murder-charge/2006/03/01/1141191732157.html

Then, there's the likes of Baden-Clay who he and his family literally ran and hid and did not show their faces in the search for his wife. But as soon as he showed his moosh everyone knew what a lying prick he was.
I'll put my chin on the line and say 'Ol Borce R. is in this category. We'll wait and see until Karen is found, if ever.

Both showed totally different reactions but both were guilty as all hell.

I'll rabbit on about how amazing our cops are.

Either way, either personality and their damage control antics, our cops see right through them.

Glad you're back with us tgy. Back your old form I see :)

Thanx Boho. I was worried I was becoming desensitised because of my love for WS. Obviously not because crikey when a young unexpected death hits within your family it cripples your very core.

Get back on the bike TGY.

My new years resolution is to try not to get t/o in 2017.

Maybe....

i like the idea of your WS' NY's resolution :)

Sorry, I don't know who you lost but my heart goes out to you! Be patient with yourself... it certainly can change your metric of what matters in life and what really doesn't. You are back though, so yay! for continuity.

I lost my 17yo son 10 years ago. I don't think I will ever be the same person I was before and it took me a long time to accept that.

If he is considered at risk of suicide whilst in custody, after examination by a mental health professional, he will be placed in a protective unit and be subject to close supervision. I was talking about his unsuccessful 'suicide attempt' immediately after his arrest.
Gangland Killer, Carl Williams, was bashed to death by another prisoner while in "protective custody" in high security Barwon Prison in Australia with cctv footage. He was sitting outside his cell in the "common area" when he was bashed over the head with part of an exercise bike. He suffered severe head injuries and went into cardiac arrest but was unable to be revived.

My point is that because Rick was "unsuccessful" with his first attempt to suicide while in custody for Tia's murder, there is a possibilty, regardless of him being in "protective custody", that he could have another attempt to suicide or be harmed by another prisoner as Carl Williams was, when he finally realises the full brunt of facing life imprisonment for all the other charges he has yet to face...A gutless and dispicable human being, the lowest of the low...MOO

I suspect Rick sees himself as a self-sacrificial hero, verging on victim. A kind of Jesus. He convinced himself that he killed Tiahleigh for the sake of his family. I think he planned that when/if the cops came he’d kill himself. Probably had a little suicide kit prepared. Imagined everyone’s sorrow and self-blame at the death of a great man.

Whether that’s a genuine suicide attempt is moot. “Must try harder” as teachers used to say. I kind of think Rick’s grandiose self-pity, if I’m right about that, works to keep him alive in spite of himself. Yet people do sometimes die from half-hearted attempts.

All MOO, and I know many of you aren’t interested in amateur scum psychology.

Assuming it was a genuine suicide attempt, you do have to wonder how he managed it, however, induced comas are not done at the request of the patient, so I believe he was making a genuine attempt.

I sincerely hope that I haven't offended many posters on the subject of suicide and I apologise if I have offended anyone, as it was not my intention to do so...Sadly I lost my beautiful Dad to suicide at a very early age and it is something you never get over (very touchy subject)...I will say no more...MOO..

Was that coward RT found barricaded in an outside shed or am I dreaming?

He might have downed something from in there before they nabbed him.
Does rose food still contain arsenic or maybe some Roundup or some horse worming stuff.

Whatever it was I hope it gave him a severe dose of the trots.

Hey sweet Tiddles, how can you offend anyone when we are all sleuthing RT attempting suicide. I love your posts!

AFAIK after Rick was awoken from his 48 hour medically induced coma, he was transferred from Princess Alexandria Hospital's ICU to their secure unit and placed under police guard:

Tia's foster father awake, to be moved

I have yet to read that he has been transferred to a remand centre. I don't care what happens to him save that he serves life in prison if he is found guilty of Tia's murder and interfering with her corpse.

I've read that he is "in custody" and has been "remanded in custody" but not whether he's left the PA for Wacol.

As we haven't heard differently I would assume he was moved to Wacol as planned http://www.skynews.com.au/news/national/qld/2016/09/23/tia-s-foster-father-to-be-moved-to-jail.html

So he was, according to the ABC:

'Police on Friday moved Thorburn from Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital to the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre at Wacol.

Thorburn was charged on Tuesday but was rushed to hospital after an apparent overdose.

Earlier on Friday, Detective Inspector Damien Hansen said police still had not been able to question him since his arrest.
"We may make an attempt, but we'll do that through his legal team," Inspector Hansen said.

"He hasn't spoken to detectives and he's been transferred from the PA to Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre at Wacol."'

Tiahleigh Palmer: Material unearthed at crime scene as police hunt for clues

Pretty quick turnaround. Charged and 'apparent[ly] overdoses' on Tuesday, out of medically-induced coma on Thursday, moved to Wacol on Friday.

I have lost a family member and a loved one to suicide, albeit they were both suffering from depression and hadn't been charged with the murder of a child. It is genuinely devastating for those of us who are left behind.

I urge anyone who is contemplating self-harm to seek immediate help from their local hospital's 24 hour Crisis Team, a specialised telephone counselling service such or their medical practitioner.

I'm sorry for the loss of your son, watergirl x

Just imagine....for a moment, how a mother's agony to lose a precious daughter like Tia while in the hands of the child care system. It was no freak accident, she wasn't even sick. Tiah was murdered and her little body was unceremoniously dumped in a nearby river THEN, THEN!! the theory was pushed and peddled that Tiah was JUST an uncontrollable runaway.

I'm truly sicken by this Thorburn clan and I'm filthy mad.

My heart is with Tiah's mum tonight. That would be unimaginable grief!!

Only now, I understand. I know time is our friend.
I'm so sad for your loss and grateful for your kindness.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger? I beg to differ at the moment.

Wow. So many sad stories of loss among us... so many of us with loved ones who left a big gaping hole in our lives.

I know when I came here I connected with that. I NEEDED to connect with the topics of death and loss and grief that many people find so awkward to even mention. I tend to go walkabout from here for long periods but I keep coming back. [emoji4]

Justice for Tiah. [emoji173]

Seriously, if you turned back the clock five decades or more, this whole excuse for a family, more commonly known as the Thorburns, would have all been hung for the atrocities they committed in violating and murdering twelve year Tialeigh Palmer. As far as I'm concerned they are all guilty - every last one of them! As barbaric as it sounds, I feel a public hanging now would be justifiable and certainly a relief to taxpayers who have to fund their prison upkeep for years to come. And if Rick Thorburn wants to off himself, it's fine by me.

Or Firing Squad (as in Bali) might be better...Line the four (4) of them up and fire...so they all go down together...They are dispicable human beings, the lowest of the low, for what they did to poor little Tia...THE END.....
