Police from Mid North Coast have been coordinating the search, involving SES volunteers, RFS volunteers, members of the local surf lifesaving club, the police dog squad, mounted police, officers using trail bikes and Polair.

Late yesterday, police divers arrived to search several dams in the vicinity of where the boy was last seen.

Police said the search area has expanded to cover a 10 kilometre area, with in excess of 100 community members registering to search on a voluntary basis.

There is a big crew out there searching - now the area size has been expanded.
I hope they find William very soon.
Prayers to you little Spiderman. Be safe, be found.

oh, i hadnt read that, only that he was playing in the front yard, so even more alarming if he was abducted closer up by the house and possibly off the verandah!

Off the veranda? Maybe Spider-Man thought he could climb like the real spidey. Where are you lil man. I won't say what I'm thinking now but hope I'm wrong. :(

I haven't even seen an article that says they were playing on the balcony. Only that he disappeared from the front yard. Epictreasure, are you able to help with this?

according to google maps if its number 48, which seems to match with msm footage, the house has a high balcony, so any person wanting to abduct a child from there must have been very quick and desperate, or maybe known to the family?

I can't believe William is still missing. If he has been bitten by a snake, well time really is important I'm afraid. :(

How long after he went missing did they bring the dogs in? Has it rained since he disappeared? One incredibly small blessing, if he is stuck somewhere it isn't too hot yet.

Come home William.

It had been raining before he went missing apparantly. The ground was moist so tracks should have been left if he did go into bush land. Think the dogs were brought in not he first day. That's what I have read here and there :/

Hi lovely.

I was told by a local the house was number 50 so it is really hard for me to get my bearings with this because I know that house with the tents is 48 and that is where everything is set up, which should be
"the house"
He would have only needed to walk past 1 house to get into that thick bushland. That is a brown house with a white pole out the front, then it is dense as hell
It is a very STRANGE place for an opportunist to be driving around (unless he knew them)

I have really believed this is a case of misadventure but I could be wrong.
I have not read anywhere about balcony playing, besides the photo that shows William and sister together playing on the balcony which was shown in the news.

There have been a LOT of new messages im seeing elsewhere about people seieng him near a train station and to check the local cameras, i think this is stemming from a man who took his child to a market with a spiderman outfit.

The 2 people out searching I know today, I hope to hear from soon.
Just awful and such a big area.

If there has been no evidence of William being in the 10 square km that 200+ people have searched twice I'm leaning towards foul play :(

This afternoon's SES update (39 mins ago) says that despite the massive search and specialist efforts, William is still missing.

They have been using different teams to check and recheck, to make sure that nothing has been missed.

More searchers are needed, as many have had to return to work today.

Despite a lot of time having passed now, hope is still strong.

I have also not read any reports about the kids playing on the balcony. Instead, I heard on a radio report this morning that the kids were playing 'chasings' and running around the house. If they were indeed on the balcony, BOTH of them, then surely the older sister must have seen or heard in which direction he went?! It is such a high balcony with unimpeded visibility and not all that big...
The house in question I think is the house of which a couple of Google photos were posted upthread, and the close up of the number indicates this is 48. It also aligns with images of the house published in msm that this house is on a corner, i.e. the last bend in Bendaroon Drive, before it heads up towards the bush. It is a house with pinkish-blonde coloured bricks.
As I previously mentioned upthread, I cannot conceive of how an abductor would be hanging around that area. There are far too few places to choose from, from which to potentially abduct a random child, and there is only one proper exit. It is a quiet area, evidently with people at home during the day, a street that is normally devoid of parked cars (as the pictures indicate) - how could someone lurking about not be conspicuous!? And how someone could pre-empt William/children being there, that day, at that time, and in that very instant 'unsupervised', on the grounds of a house that is occupied by elderly person/s. UNLESS they had inside information, and in that case there must be some kind of link to the family...
I can see why police have strongly been going down the path of William being lost in the bush BUT, as time marches on, how could they not have found him by now, in an area of up to ten squared kilometres? For the most part, these are experienced searchers.
I wonder if William went up a tree?
Or, if he's closer to the house still, like someone mentioned, underneath it for in some obscure place no one has obviously thought to look at yet?
If the kids were playing chasings or hide and seek of some sort, then it is conceivable that William found such a good hidey-hole that indeed no one can find him!!!
But, by the same token, if he was in the immediate vicinity of the house, even if not visible or underneath it etc, surely he would have heard people calling out for him?!
It really is starting to sound very bizarre, sadly.

Poor little William. I am very concerned that the dogs couldn't track a scent going off the property.

If something else has happened to William, I just can't see where/how they are going to start looking for him. There seems to be no other tips, as far as what has been reported anyway. The officer in the video in this article from today is very determined that the search should continue for as long as there is a continued chance of survival.

They are, however, still making sure they put the Crime Stoppers contact details at the end of all articles.

"Fairfax Media understands there have been no reports of strange vehicles or suspicious activity in the area about the time that William disappeared.

Police have interviewed William's young sister, who was playing with him just before he disappeared, but she was unable to shed any light on her brother's disappearance, police said."

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this guys comments is odd!!

I HOPE that LE know something we don't, an abduction avenue perhaps.. However, them continuing the search with such strength doesn't give me that vibe :(

The family have released new photos of William to help in the search.
