THIS says a lot!!!

So my post was taken off! Why in the world did they not do this after the murder? Chances are whoever did this, moved away be it someone staying with a neighbor or the neighbor themselves.

Ugh, No it wasn't taken off, sorry.

They are getting DNA from neighbors NOW?! This should have done this right after the murder!!!!!!!!!! These neighbors could have had someone staying with them that is long gone for pete's sake or even the neighbor, who could've done, this moved! Two years is a long time.

Iirc they DID do this right after the murder.

They were asking for volunteers to do familial DNA matches.

Yes, I see they are doing it now, but I don't believe they did that back in 2015, when she was murdered. That would have been the time to do this, IMO

I am fairly certain they did it then. I remember discussing it in here and being surprised they would ask it of neighbors etc.

I am in AZ and seeing this case on the news as the 2 year anniv just hit. I doubt this was a random burglary. I hope they make an arrest soon her family must be devistated.

Bringing forward the link immediately above, to a post from June 2015, the video at this link
( http://www.kare11.com/news/crime/reward-increased-in-feldman-murder-case/105480498 )

#1)
at 33 seconds they report that nearly 70 DNA samples had been collected

#2)
at 0:38 seconds they say THE TIFFANY BRACELET ONCE CONSIDERED STOLEN THE NIGHT OF HER MURDER WAS LATER FOUND IN HER HOME hopefully the media picks up on this important detail and stops MIS-REPORTING it is STILL MISSING AFTER ALL THIS TIME, as they have done at the link in the post of mine I am also bumping!!!!!

:banghead:

Wonder why they collect the DNA voluntarily? Can't they do it to Everyone or do they need a warrant? I agree this was no robbery.

They would need a warrant and a very strong reason. They can request people to volunteer so they can compare the DNA they have to not just the person giving it but also familial use.

I wonder why the Tiffany bracelet was initially reported as missing, but the report was later retracted? Could it be something the perp intended to take but dropped on his way out, so it wasn't located immediately?

Interesting that investigators used the word "pocketed." Seems to suggest the intruder took only a few items he could fit into his pocket. Specific items. One item may have slipped out of his pocket during his egress.

If perp hadn't brought along a receptacle for stowing the stolen items, this suggest his motive wasn't robbery. Just 3 very personal items. Stuffed into his pocket?

The video at the link below, posted by Tarabull, states the source of the killer's DNA is from a cut. So, I assume LE is collecting DNA samples from females as well as males? A case of jealousy or rivalry? Hmmm.

FWIW, DNA & fingerprints were collected from the crime scene: http://www.cbs5az.com/story/29317957/reward-increases-to-10k-in-scottsdale-murder-case

Also, somewhere it is reported the DNA belongs to a male iirc....still looking for THAT link.

:justice:
I think you're right, LE did specify male. Guess I don't remember Biology that well any more :blushing:, but I think I have seen mentioned on another case recently that all cells contain sex chromosomes, so investigators can determine the sex of the perp by testing the blood. Thanks!

They could still track down the killer via the DNA sample from a female in the neighborhood.

Maybe a female neighbor has a brother who was in town visiting or something along those lines....

:dunno:
