Curious to learn more about the “woodcutter” jmo
A week later on October 5, Coconino County Sheriff's deputies were called to Road 6, a remote dirt road west of Flagstaff near Ashfork, Arizona. They found Grimm's abandoned SUV in the middle of a road that's often used by hunters and woodcutters.

Detectives say Thursday morning they spoke with a woodcutter who told them he saw Grimm's car on that dirt road on September 30 and stopped to talk to her where she was in a nearby field.

“[He] talked to her around noon. And said she was fine and said she didn't need any help. And she was out taking photographs,” said Driscoll.

Moo.. she was parked in the middle of a very narrow. That would be irritating for anyone else travelling the road. I do wonder the reason for her 2 flat tires....moo
Yes, I'm been wondering why she was parked in the middle of the road when she had previously pulled off to the side to stop? Also, how long and how did her tires go flat? Odd that they were both on the same side.

I noticed a few helicopters today circling south of the area Chelsea's car was found in, south of 40, in various locations. Does anyone know if they're still searching for her by air? Like this one - lots and lots of dense circling:

I’d much rather fly with it than drive it through a few of the backwards states looking for an excuse to pull over out of state plates! TSA isn’t looking for it nor do they care for the most part
Agreed! But I was saying that she could easily buy weed in CT/NY if she flew. That wouldn’t be a reason for her to travel by car.

Video is just over 17 mins

Chelsea Grimm's parents tell me she was driving across the country to a wedding and did not fly because she couldn't bring her bearded dragon on the plane. She disappeared in Arizona. Any info -- call Coconino County Sheriff’s Office 928-774-4523.

Maybe it's old news ... and I am late to know as I haven't kept up with this thread, however, on linked (15 min timestamp) video the family Investigator stated some interesting things have come to light as of today, but will not reveal them just yet. They will release it to the news if it comes to fruition because we want the world to look out for it.

Thanks for pointing that out. For me, it's difficult to watch videos as it takes so much time and so many repeat the same info. Will go check it out!

the officer tells her where the nearby love's gas station is. maybe she went there?
Supposedly she is driving to CT for a wedding, but stops to film in a cemetery? And there is enough suspicion, that an alert made by someone goes out to police? Why include filming into the equation when your destination is CT, or had she already decided not to go to the wedding? Why change "your" mind so soon, or did someone change it for her? I understand she was spontaneous and she changed plans a lot, tho, something is off here. She might still be in AZ. What is known about the woodcutter? moo

From the article:

“How are you doing?” the officer asks Grimm in the body camera footage. “I’m okay. How are you?” Grimm responds. The new body camera video shows a Williams police officer contacting 32-year-old Chelsea Grimm days before her car was found on a remote road without her in it.

In the video, the officer said they got a call for suspicious activity near the cemetery in Williams, and he came to check on her. Grimm appears upset and explains she was working on a photography project. “Are you doing alright?” the officer asks. “Yeah, I just was doing a photo shoot of the lost soldiers and got a little emotional, so I was crying before I got back on the road,” Grimm said.

Well this case took a strange twist...I had presumed that CG had always intended to travel by car due to her pet bearded dragon...however it is that she just found out that she wouldn't be able to fly with it?

(Which in itself is typical, my sister is a dog owner and prefers driving over flying since she doesn't want to pay someone to dog watch or pay extra to travel with it.)

Also, what did the timeline look like when she was flying and then when she decided to drive instead? Again, I presume that she would have planned flying in 1-2 days before the wedding, which wouldn't work if she switched to driving, especially if she found out just a day before she was supposed to fly.

that would be a massive change of plans for most people, for sure. Even with enough time to travel, driving cross country alone is daunting and for a spur of the moment change, not all would be able to or want to do so. It would also limit her time with family back east, I’d assume.

Thanks again for pointing that out. I just watched Brian’s entire video (poor guy sounds like he’s got a bad cold!) and I sure do hope the PI has something new. It was a bit disturbing that it sounded like no one had checked the Love’s truck stop camera footage yet… surely that would have been one of the first things they would have done since the officer told her it would be a good place to spend the night.

The difference for me is that her pet is --- a bearded dragon. I'm sure she loves the animal, but gosh, doesn't she have one friend/acquaintance/pet boarder/coworker who could watch over such an undemanding pet as hers? It just doesn't make sense. The cost, the time, the aggravation, the possible dangers, the distance, oh, man --- it's just a very odd to drive 2800 miles because of a bearded dragon. Bearded dragons don't agonize over your absence as a dog would. MOO.

The only people who could check Love's video, IMO, are police. It could be that some manager there checked on their own (maybe) and then passed it forward, but usually LE has to go looking. Wouldn't be surprised if the employees at Love's haven't even heard about CG being missing - despite the closeness to their workplace.

Some businesses (often up to the individual on duty) turn over their entire recorded drive to LE (who then goes through it) but others actually review it on their own and consult with corporate lawyers before releasing (the latter thing happens with chains and big corporations).

I don't have an estimate of the average time for turning over such videos (I don't think anyone does) but I've been surprised to see how much it varies. Local LE walking in and asking to sit down and watch recent business surveillance are likely to be told that a managerial decision needs to be made.

OTOH, it's possible that local LE has good relationships with that business and got the footage right away - which revealed nothing.

Or anything in between. If she was seen at Love's, I think LE would update the last known location, as it's clear they've included each sighting of her that they could find.

If it was easy to get to the footage, I would bet LE has it. If none of the employees knows the password to the security system (for the surveillance) then it would take longer.

IMO.

Yes, of course only LE could obtain the footage. That’s what I was referring to when I said I was surprised no one had checked it.

But, not all places are strict about this sort of thing. When Naomi Irion went missing, her brother went to Walmart where she parked daily to pick up a bus to her job and insisted they show him security cam footage, which they did, because he was upset and frantic, and it helped lead them to her killer.

I don't have a single person to watch either of my dogs. I guess I don't have any friends/family/acquaintances that are close enough. Or maybe dogs are more demanding? I would certainly watch over a dog at my house, as opposed to a reptile (that's just me). I don't consider reptiles (have had a couple) to be "undemanding." They actually die pretty readily if their temperature/diet regiment isn't minded.

The aggravation of taking the Dragon along on a trip is of course, extreme and it is very odd. Bearded dragons may not agonize, but they (and turtles and other herps) do die when their finicky environment isn't attended to. Plenty of places to leave off a dog (or hire a sitter), but Bearded Dragon care is something the sitter must learn. (Our dogs have a very simple set of instructions for feeding and water).

//As reptiles, bearded dragons rely on their environment to regulate their internal body temperature. Therefore, in captivity, bearded dragon housing must create a temperature gradient providing a warm side, a basking area, and a cool side. At least two thermometers should be placed in the terrarium to ensure the maintenance of proper temperatures.//

This could get dicey for a cross country trip at a hot time of year - through the worst part of Arizona that could be chosen (I would have gone north in California, while still near the coast, etc). I wonder if she was becoming overwhelmed by care of the Dragon? I wonder how long she'd had it. I also wonder how well she thought it through (taking such a pet on a 2800 mile journey - where did it stay when she went to lunch with her friend?? Did she have a lizard purse and was taking it into restaurants - that can be anxiety producing for sure).

IMO. No judgment intended, we were all young at some point. Have had friends with boa constrictors who didn't think it through...

How do you know that no one checked it?
