I hope that everyone enjoyed a pleasant holiday weekend and that no one was adversely impacted by storms or extreme temperatures. We had a record-breaking high of 95* in metro-Detroit yesterday followed by overnight thunderstorms.

I spent little time on the internet yesterday but did a speed-read of this thread. I don't feel that the doc dump rendered much information, and I don't see a smoking gun or other evidence that points to a particular perp. No bombshells, either, but I'm sure that Nancy Grace found a few :D Hopefully, there will be more activity in the case this week that might yield additional information or take a few teeny-weeny steps forward towards a resolution.

Stay cool.

Please. I am so sorry I even suggested this, as it has "grown legs." If you can not find this info ANYWHERE but Websleuths, where is was stated as a POSSIBILITY only, please disregard. I never meant for anyone to think it was the only possibility, it was merely a suggestion.

I think people were speculating that it was possible that Isa was left at the ballpark, if they went in separate vehicles. I don't recall actually reading anything like that in the MSM.

For the record, I am one of those who are firm in my belief that the family is not directly involved, BUT wouldn't it be interesting if LE wants video/pictures of Isa at the park that night to determine how she wore her hair? If her hair was already braided at the game, it would seem like a definite lie was told about their pre-bed activities.

Like I said, I think they are being truthful, but that is definitely something that would knock me up and over the fence.

I don't really see why her hair couldn't have been braided at the game and then washed and the braids redone in the evening. SC did say the kids took showers and my experience with my daughter's hairdos is that they always tend to get messed up and need fixing. I wouldn't see anything odd in having worn braids earlier in the day and different braids after getting showered.

Whether or not Type 1 Diabetes (aka "Juvenile Diabetes" or sometimes referred to as "insulin dependent diabetes") is hereditary is up for much discussion - there was no diabetes in our family when my daughter was diagnosed - the first thing the nurse on the information line asked me when I told her my daughter was excessively thirsty was "is there any diabetes in the family?"

(by the way, just for the record, an adult can be diagnosed with Type I/Juvenile Diabetes as well - it is described as an insulin dependent diabetes, where the patient produces no insulin, thereby requiring multiple insulin injections per day, as opposed to Type II Diabetes which can be controlled with a combination of small amounts of insulin, oral medication, or diet - a Type II diabetic produces some insulin)

I have seen some cases where it has been diagnosed in other family members, and other cases like ours where there were no other family members. Some schools of thought consider that Type 1 Diabetes MAY be triggered by a virus, but that's another long story which is not relevant here.

I don't know why they would be checking for glucose in the parents' blood, but I'm sure one of the nurses or medical experts here at WS will have an answer. The only reason I'm aware of is to test blood sugar (glucose).

Thought:

As I am writing this, the only thing that stands out to me is the "injections" - is it possible that syringes were found in the home, which is normal if you are diabetic? However, syringes can also be used as we know for illegal drugs. Just a thought that came to my mind . . .

Alcohol is considered a poison by your body, and all efforts are made to excrete it, including the cessation of maintaining healthy blood glucose levels.

I have not kept up on this from the start, but have read articles about it and have read here. The one thing that I thought was odd was that sergio watched a pre-recorded game. I personally do not think he was in the home the whole night. jmo

To see if someone is diabetic????

Perhaps that's the "unnamed condition" that one of the sons has when Becky mentioned one of them has "_____" and LE asked if she thought that could cause any actions which might bring harm to his sister (paraphrasing here!)

My daughter has been diabetic since she was 6 and she's never exhibited signs of anything like that (she's now an adult BTW)

A gray top tube could be used for other things, because of the type of additive in the tube. If I can find a lab slip, I'll post other reasons for it.

You're probably right. I just thought initially it would be a little odd. My daughter's hair is pixie style because the meds she was on for ADHD caused anxiety and she twisted and pulled the majority of her hair out. I had to shave her head, so it's still growing out. Haven't had to do the ponytail or braid thing in awhile :D

She wore her hair in many different ways. It doesn't seem likely, had it been redone after the shower, that her mom would have done the same style. JMO

http://www.medicinenet.com/alcohol_...maintaining healthy blood glucose levels.

Hey Lisa, good job on finding that - my time is somewhat limited as I am trying to work and post because I am preparing something for an appt. later today. I appreciate you tracking that down. It sort of confirms that maybe they are looking for (or found) evidence of heavy alcohol use by checking the blood glucose levels. Or, perhaps they were, or are, also looking for evidence of drug use. Lots of possibilities, and since we know that LE are holding back some evidence, we may be left in the dark for awhile.

I love how resourceful the WS posters are!

what exactly.... " the cuddling part"?? I think my very first post here was about that and what i believe is a total oxymoron- cuddling with a 10 and 14 year old boy.

Or is it that combined with all the cd's in a storeroom? hmm what kind of CDs get confiscated by the PD? definitely not Disney/pixar- definitely not even violent video games. :waitasec:

About the showers and the pj's and the putting dirty clothes back on. I made alot of jokes about " the evils of baseball pants"( WHITE) when all my kids played( 3 kids). Kids' baseball uniforms ( unless they are on the bench) can't be worn twice- they are filthy with red/brown dirt from the track around the bases and sliding.

And I wonder did IC have a uniform- she played in? I know sometimes the little ones and softball girls can wear shorts but generally - if they were a big baseball family- I bet IC would be wearing baseball pants and her uniform shirt if she were dressed ready to go to a game.

(PJs) don't read this part if you are sick of it. :-x But- I have to say MOO. I'm not making any judgments about whose kids kids wear what to bed- or appearances-but SC did say they all did " shower"- and made a big thing about stating that- so i guess it's a matter of if any of the other statements are true or not.

( 5 damp towels?)

I have a question though...probably an aside. Why are there all those tunnels under Tuscon?

TY from CT
Praying for IC. Prayers for the missing/victims.
:fence:

I think they are for flood control. Huge amounts of rainwater runoff is drained into those tunnels and out from under the city. That is my understanding of the purpose of the tunnels anyway. MOO

Can't get the bold to work.

My daughters hair was long and I would braid her hair for bed, and especially if it was wet/damp from bath/shower going to bed.

I don't know. I guess it was just something I was throwing out there. To be honest, I would be too lazy to braid my kid's hair twice in one day. Isa wasn't playing that night, so if it were me I would just tell her 'let's just do the ponytail thing and I will braid your hair tonight before bed.'

Just something I thought maybe LE was trying to determine, as well as what she was wearing as far as clothing.

Where is Isa? Someone Knows! We need to find this precious baby! Why Not public searches? If there are that many tunnels and washes you would think the more eyes out there the better! (Of course bring a buddy so you don't get sleuthed later! LOL)

It could be just something that is easy or what either mom or Isabel likes.
You never can tell with kids imo, sometimes they like the same thing several days in a row and other times they like to try something different every time. .

Anyway, this is purely academic, is it? I mean, we don't have any information about how her hair was done earlier in the evening to compare, do we?

not really..lol...there is no certain/proven rule from lab to lab. i've looked at about a dozen sites so far. most yellow = dna/paternity and grey is used for drugs OR diabetes.

question as i don't recall from the doc dump thread -- when exactly were the blood samples drawn?

Okay, this makes sense. TY...

No, we don't. Just a "thinking out loud" moment on my part. At the risk of this continuing for another 10 pages, I apologize for even suggesting it.

I continue to maintain my firm belief that the family is not directly involved in Isa's abduction.

Moving right along........

Hi everyone I had a thought and I am sorry if this has been speculated already but I skimmed through the threads this weekend and did not get to actually read every single post. When I am strapped for time I usually do a quick MSM search of the cases I am following and then if there is something new I will come here and read the details but this weekend all I could find on this case was the possible blood found. Then this morning Huffpost reported it once again as new info which brings me to a theory I have been sitting on while waiting for the analysis of what was found. So here goes, IF it was SC that had something to do with Isabel missing then why would he go to great lengths to hide her but leave behind staining in her room and on a shower curtain found in a car outside of his own house? That being said is it at all possible he is being set up to make it look as though he has done something? I am not sure by who, I just find it odd that she has not been found yet all this evidence in the home seemed blatant. Again sorry if this has come up just wanted to add my 2 after reading this "breaking" yet old news once again. MOO

Hi! I think you made two very good points to at least consider. If the staining turns out to be her blood (I'm not sure we even know it is blood yet?), then, I agree, it doesn't make much sense that SC did something and THIS is potentially the only big clue left behind?

As far as him being set-up, I frankly had that thought go through my mind too. I think it's possible with the advancement in forensics, criminals are getting smarter. For one, if a suspect is handed to them on a silver platter and there is some evidence against that person, I believe that is then where most of the resources go. Resources are limited so, yes, I believe some of these types of decisions are often made and maybe with the help of the DA. You'd be surprised in some cases how much evidence is not tested or there is no advanced testing. Probably not true in this case though and I am not sure if someone specifically would have set up SC to take the fall (or how or why) just that this case does sometimes have that feel about it to me.

I really think LE wanted it to see if they could spot anyone watching Isa when no one thought they were or paying attention to her and getting her to talk to them.

Ballparks can be like a smorgasboard for predators, imo.

IMO

The tunnels are part of the wash/arroyo system in Tucson. Naturally occurring drainage, the tunnel part happens when the washes are in the way of roads and real estate. Most neighborhood roads simply have a 'dip' in them, ie the road crosses the wash. More traveled roads have some kind of culvert which makes a short tunnel and then you have the longer tunnels like the one very close to the Celis house, which goes under two major roadways, Broadway and Craycroft, plus a good section of nice business real estate.

The drainage in the Celis part of town ends up in the Rillito River, which winds along the foothills of the Catalina mountains. A dry riverbed most of the time, but oh mean is it cool when it flows! Half the city turns out in fascination at all that water! And then it's all gone in a day or two...

And again, no special tools, nothing, to enter said tunnels, just walk in the wash and thru the crap in the wash right into said tunnels...
