There's a map of Pima County here http://www.pima.gov/procure/about/images/pimacountyLG.jpg. The only part that wouldn't be considered "remote" and "rural" is the area right around Tucson. We don't know where she was, but this gives you an idea of how vast the possibilities are. This is why they needed something beyond "happenstance" to find her.

It's being speculated (READ-I am not saying this is fact), she was found near Red Rock. Googled RR and found the link below. What interested me was the mention of Marana, IIRC didn't Isabel's Grandparents live there? It's ringing a bell, but I can't remember exactly.

Red Rock is just over the Pima/Pinal county line from Marana, easily a good 20- to 30-minute drive up Interstate 10 from the Arizona Pavilions business district toward the southern end of Marana.
