And from reading these post the numbers is on your side.

Ok just going to post a very quick update as my time is really limited at the moment.
Thanks Marstan for passing along the info. :blowkiss:

Yes, my Dad and I testified yesterday and it went WELL. There was NO cross examination on either of us. I'd guess we testified about a half an hour each.

The BREAKING NEWS is that our former prosecutor Cathy Hughes is BACK ON THE CASE!!!! The Supreme court ruled just today that the other order to recuse her is "stayed" with "no restrictions". Whew!

Yes, my impressions of the Judge and our new prosecutor have really changed. Both are much better than I'd feared...MUCH. Sherri, the Asst. AG is doing really well.

I got recalled today to testify to my sister's killer's demeanor during his testimony in the original trial..again no cross.

The defense is making NO points in any of their cross examinations. Mostly it's been people who interacted with these monsters in various ways from dating, to interpreting to signing a real estate contract on a half a million dollar home (pretty good for mentally retarded boys isn't it?).

I leave for a conference tomorrow but my Dad will continue going to court this week and I'll be back next week for parts of some days and closing arguments on Friday. If I hear any significant updates from my Dad while I'm gone I'll make sure they get posted here.

THANK YOU For all the good thoughts and support. It really means alot to me and my family...ALOT.

Oh and one more thing, a reporter pal of mine was there from the local Phoenix paper and will be doing a story on this hearing once it concludes. So that's pretty good too.

I'm feeling very optimistic about this whole thing finally. :)

Katie:
This is such good news! You sound so up-beat. I just know everything is going to be fine.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

That's wonderful to hear! You've got lots of positive thoughts and prayers going out to your family, I hope you gain strength from all the support. Keep the faith.

Great news Katie! We are all here for you!

I'm so relieved to hear you say that. I was so stunned by this thread I couldn't even think of anything to say. This would be laughable if Cindy hadn't lost her life because of those depraved monsters. They're where they belong and they need to stay there until the death sentence is carried out! :furious:

Off topic, but: Katie, go to local K-mart and buy a pair of tennis shoes (or other shoes, I suppose) at least one size bigger than whatever size you Dad thinks he wears. I have been through this with my elderly mom. She buys shoes much too small for her foot, based on whatever size she wore when she was a younger woman!

I get so-o-o-o tired of taking my mother out somewhere and looking down at her feet and seeing her wearing an old pair of shoes with the flesh of her foot puffed up like a marshmallow! And this is not a money issue in this case believe me!

I have also encountered inappropriate footwear - meaning there is snow and slush in the parking lots and mom doesn't want to wear a boot or boot-type of shoe! I PURCHASED (rather expensive) appropriate boots and have gotten to the point where I just say "I'm not taking you out the door with those shoes on in this weather, so you need to change into boots."

It's tough. But you HAVE to do it.

Katie, hope your trip and the conference goes well. No problem about posting the updates. Just relieved that Cathy will be helping the prosecution and that the defence goofballs are sitting there with an open mouth.

kcl thanks for the update and the good news. So glad that everything seems to be on the upswing. Keep up your great work!!

I am so happy to hear that things are going better than you originally expected. Stay strong and keep the faith. Many, many more hugs, prayers and good thoughts are headed your way!

any word on how things are going or when you expect a ruling?

All I have heard is that the experts have been testifying this week and that it looks like Cathy H. (the original prosecutor) has been doing some fabulous examination of them. I think Katie gets back in (to the courtroom) tomorrow and can give us some better information.

Hi Ntegrity! Hope all is well with you!!

Today, at least two of Michael Apelt's former teachers testified for the defense. They both were good "State's Witnesses", however. Especially the one who stated that, "Michael was a badseed. He may have had ADD but that is not the same as mentally retarded." The other one gave testimony about things that really point to a behavior disordered child rather than a mentally retarded one. Also, it was brought into testimony yesterday that Michael got out of the German army because he claimed he was "gay".

I will add any more as I hear it, straight from the courtroom!
