Wow. Doesn't have to fully fund the trust ad required, keeps her kids and potentially gets probation. It just doesn't seem right for those poor kids. I sincerely doubt she has learned a thing from all this. Sigh.

Probation + 114k, still like winning the lottery. Wonder how much the restitution is.

I'm late to the discussion on the plea. While I sure think her actions merit some jail time, I'll take "at least" 10 years probation over the max 18 months jail time she was facing.

That means she will have a PO in her life and making reports until the youngest child is about 11 years old, so that provides some measure of safety for the kids. If she violates probation, she's still looking at jail time. She will be a convicted felon. I hope she gets a harda$$ PO that rides her hard, and makes her live up to the requirements of her probation, and ensures that she provides for her kids' safety, health, education, etc. She is someone who really needs supervision, and guidance. And hopefully that will include some help pursuing "aspiring rapper" and baby daddy to help provide for his 3 kids.

I'm also very happy with the $100K restitution. Although I doubt she will ever pay all of it, hopefully she has to pay a certain amount every month toward that balance.

In the big scheme of things, I think the duration of this probation and plea agreement will "remind" her of her behavior and crime far longer than a short jail sentence ever would. She pleaded to a felony (class 6), so she will still be a convicted felon. And that is some justice, IMO.

She may have no idea yet how being a convicted felon is going to impact her life with 3 kids. For instance, as someone on probation for a child abuse felony, she will be restricted from things like volunteering at her kid's daycare and school, or chaperoning field trips. She will not be able to pass a background check. She may have to have an escort while visiting her kids' school, etc. She will be restricted from being hired for certain jobs. She may be restricted from drinking any alcohol, and may be subject to random drug testing. A felony child abuse conviction is no small matter. Still, she's pretty lucky her kids are ok, after being left in the car. They could easily be permanently brain damaged, or dead, and she'd be facing a much worse future.

Unbelievable. This will be her 4th child. She is awaiting sentencing on the child abuse charges.

PHOENIX - Shanesha Taylor is back in the spotlight less than a month after pleading guilty to child abuse for leaving her two young sons alone in a hot car during a job interview.

ABC15 has learned exclusively Taylor is pregnant. Three sources confirm it.

ABC15 has also learned a popular, nationally syndicated talk show will be featuring Shanesha's story but the name of the show and air date are being kept a secret.

Call me crazy, but if we hear she's peddling a reality show, I won't be surprised. I'll be disgusted that she would parlay another child into this circus of a life of hers, but I wouldn't be surprised that she was irresponsible enough to allow another life into this madness.

She has and continues to be the epitome of irresponsibility. The kids she already has will suffer for this. Not that she cares, because it's all about her and her need to be in the spotlight in any way shape or form.

This all but guarantees to keep people talking for months (if not years).

The Judge (and the DA) should be kicking themselves in the collective :censored: because she essentially have them the bird.

As angry as I am, I am oh so worried about the children! How many more chances does she get before someone really steps in and places their best interests first?

I've been on this thread from the beginning, along with my fellow WSers, and I have to say, it doesn't feel like that has ever really happened. That's a darned shame, and it should be unacceptable!

I think it's a good bet that she disclosed the pregnancy to her attorney and the prosecutor, and the attorney used the pregnancy to broker the plea deal to keep her out of jail. She faced 18 months in jail, so the child would have been born during her jail sentence, if she was convicted (which sure looked likely). All 4 of the kids would have been in kinship or foster care if she went to jail.

And holy buckets-- please do not let anyone offer this woman a reality show. No. No. No. She has been rewarded ENOUGH for her selfishness and deplorable behavior.

That's pretty funny how the reporter changed every S in the article into a money sign. :hilarious:

I was trying to find what will be expected from $hanesha while she is on probation and found this:

Am I required to work while under probation supervision?
Unless the probationer is documented retired, disabled, or a student, he/she is required to work while on probation.

So she'll have to get a J. O. B.!

Then again, I'm not holding my breath. If this is a term of $hifty $hane$ha'$ probation, I'm prepared to see her back before a :judge: for a probation violation, full of excu$e$ for why $he couldn't find or hold a job :violin:

Wait for it.....
This is $T's $OP!

I am late to the conversation (again!), but I am so pleased with the EIGHTEEN YEARS OF PROBATION!!! Quite frankly, I suspect Shanesha is wishing she had just taken the 18 MONTHS of jail time.

I had hoped for TEN years of probation-- this is very comforting. Even the child she is now pregnant with, will be protected and supervised for its entire childhood, until age 18.

Shanesha will have to explain and justify a lot of things she does, and plans to do, for the next 18 years. And I'm glad of that. Just knowing she has to ask permission to travel, move, etc, is justice for her kids. I hope each and every one of her Probation Officers is a hard a$$, and ensures she complies with every aspect of her probation. I'm much happier to have law enforcement in her life and her business, rather than only social services (who will be there, too).

She is now a single mom of 4 kids on probation for the next 18 years. It's a given that taxpayers will be shelling out for this irresponsible woman's supervision and upkeep, but if it keeps her kids safe and supervised, and gives them a chance to grow up outside of a chaotic life, or criminal elements, then I'm guess I'm okay with that.

I hope she is made to pay restitution, as discussed upthread, too.

And I hope the deadbeat "aspiring rapper" dad is made to pay up for child support, too.

And I really hope Shanesha Taylor is never again in the news, or on any kind of television show.

And check this out, from the link upthread: (ST is apparently planning to move to Chicago.)

Can a probationer relocate out of the state of Arizona?

If the probationer meets specific criteria (generally a verified residence, employment, and support network), he/she can be considered to transfer supervision to another state. It is ultimately up to the receiving state, however, if they will agree to take the probationer. If the receiving state denies the request for out of state supervision, the probationer must remain in Arizona for supervision.

One more thing-- in the articles about sentencing, we finally get official confirmation that:

SHANESHA LIED AND WAS NEVER HOMELESS.

K_Z, I almost always agree with every single thing you write, and I find myself wishing that I had written it.

But I can't share your delight over this outcome. Shanesha will see her PO regularly -- except whenever she blows off her appointments, and he's too busy to follow up or care. Her children will still have an unstable, chaotic home life. She will continue to put her own wants ahead of the needs of her children. She will continue to shortchange her children by spending money unwisely and frivolously. She has given no indication whatsoever that she's learned a single thing from this experience, and she's given no indication whatsoever that she will ever put her children's needs ahead of her own selfishness.

I'm disgusted with the whole thing.
