Indonesia's judicial commission has maintained it has completed its investigation into bribery allegations involving the judges who sentenced Bali nine pair Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran to death, despite conducting no interviews with witnesses.
That means they have just started the investigation," he said. "They still need to question all these key people. Both Rifan and of course Sukumaran and Andrew Chan."

Myuran is worried for Mary Jane Veloso's family. He asked his brother to say not to worry, that he and Andrew will take care of the others.

Human rights barrister Geoffrey Robertson has called on the Australian Government to take immediate action under international law to try to prevent the imminent executions of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

"It's about 6.30pm here, which means it's 10.30am in Geneva, and if Australia's dozy diplomats can lodge their petition now, then it may have some effect," Mr Robertson said.

Hmm... there was speculation on ABC tele this morning that something was in the pipeline for Mary after Widodo was seen chatting with the Philippines president yesterday. How convenient this woman came forward today. Hoping Mary gets a reprieve.

The execution of a Filipina drug convict by an Indonesian firing squad will not be delayed despite last-minute appeals by the Philippine government, the attorney general said on Tuesday.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo earlier met with a migrant workers' group to discuss the case of Mary Jane Veloso, who is one of nine people set to be executed within hours.

[Attorney General] Prasetyo, however, declined to mention the execution time in detail for security and technical reasons and to ensure that the executions would occur smoothly.
“Don’t force us to cancel or postpone the executions. If we do, we will be perceived as weak,” Prasetyo said before the meeting began. :gaah:

He added they were 100 percent ready to carry out the executions, which are expected to begin after midnight on Wednesday, April 29.

Surely it would take a strong man to go back on his previous stance and admit he was wrong. I'd have more respect for him if he commuted these sentences to life in prison, and looked again at Mary Jane's case.

Besides, their system is far too corrupt to be considered anything other than weak.
