He's a @HamiltonPolice officer. Was in Guns and Gangs unit in May 2013.

Does anyone have a link to the Yukon exhibit, I wouldn't mind having another look!

ETA: Cansleuther posted photo above.

Sorry ITGuy....I was clearly in error about what truck that front seat came from....mea culpa.....didn't mean to make you that mad (LOL).

One of the things they were looking for was cell phones, Rizzo says.
by Adam Carter 2:41 PM

Rizzo says it was an "extensive" search, and he searched the attic -- it was 3 to 4 feet high and covered in insulation. "I was covered head to toe in it."
by Adam Carter 2:43 PM

He says he found male and female clothing in one room. Rizzo found Smich's resume, he says, with his name and phone number on it in a black binder.
by Adam Carter 2:44 PM

Court now seeing photos of Smich's residence.
by Adam Carter 2:46 PM

Why wasn't it put in the murse that he carried and was seen on the seat of the Yukon? Why his back pocket? And why wasn't any of that stuff in the murse, wallet or no wallet? Looks like it was a quick change and you could be right, the wallet, if there was one, was discarded.

Or...he just liked keeping his cards in his car, a lot of people do. But to have a bank envelope full of cash and 3 black gloves full of evidence in your pocket, indicates to me that he was in a hurry, agitated and not thinking straight.

MOO

Maybe he was tying to pay MS off?? After all, he was there for 50 mins before his arrest.

There were some questions earlier about DM's height. According to his driver's licence (found in the Yukon exhibit) he is 191 cm, or about 6'3".

Maybe he was tying to pay MS off?? After all, he was there for 50 mins before his arrest.

But he didn't give him the $3000. Maybe he was telling him..."hey, LE came to the hangar today. I'm getting the heck out of dodge and heading overseas. Maybe you should lay low too." ;)

MOO

Smich's health card was found in one room on top of one dresser. An iPad was found in one of the drawer. "The room was unkempt compared to the rest of the house, which was neat and tidy. This room was almost like a pig pen," Rizzo says.
by Adam Carter 2:48 PM

***Did none of them ever learn to clean up anything? :scared:

Now back in court. A short voir dire happening right now. Jury should be back in shortly.
Jury has been recalled. The next witness is Mario Rizzo.
Rizzo is a Hamilton police officer who was assigned to the guns and weapons enforcement unit in 2013.
Assistant Crown Tony Leitch asking Rizzo about May 22, 2013. That's when police searched Smich's residence at 1081 Montrose Abbey Road in Oakville.
One of the things they were looking for was cell phones, Rizzo says
Rizzo says it was an "extensive" search, and he searched the attic -- it was 3 to 4 feet high and covered in insulation. "I was covered head to toe in it.".
He says he found male and female clothing in one room. Rizzo found Smich's resume, he says, with his name and phone number on it in a black binder.
Smich's health card was found in one room on top of one dresser. An iPad was found in one of the drawer. "The room was unkempt compared to the rest of the house, which was neat and tidy. This room was almost like a pig pen," Rizzo says
Rizzo says he pressed the power button on the iPad, and the lock screen popped up. He slid that open and it went directly to an iMessage screen, he says. One of the most recent messages were from May 7, at 7:49 a.m. He jotted down some of what was said in his notes. They read: "What's wrong with your phone?" and the second was "Why can't I call you?" he says.
Some Zig Zag rolling papers can also be seen on the dresser next to Mark Smich's health card.
