I'm with you texas48........
Sick isn't the word I would use!!!

I am very concerned how many more victims there are. It makes me ill!
Me being from TEXAS, I normally would not have used the word "sick" to describe this family(even tho statement might have been said by neighbor) but I had to tone down my words cause i am on a message board. I still believe there is something wrong with everyone (and maybe more) involved. The word SICK is very mild compared to what I would like to say. Just trying to be nice.....So disgusted I can't even type as fast as I am thinking...:furious:

sick was a odd choice of words, but it is sick and demented. Only its not the flu and a few pills won't cure it. There is no cure and no treatment .
I also think that lots of people that don't keep up with the world think it is a curable sickness.

Throughout history, those in power have always been the most corrupt and perverted.
Makes me wonder why there are so many light sentences handed out to child pornographers, and child molesters.

Sad and scaring. I feel I need to do something about it!

In this particular case the rapist was 16 years old and has already a history of psychiatric problems.

The way I see it, he has a mental defect (not a sickness) which makes him dangerous to society, and he should be put away for life.

Close family friend Lorretta Hutchinson of Randolph nodded in agreement.

“He was a good uncle and he loves his children,” she said. “He’s just sick.”"

You & I are so on the same brainwaves!!!
I'd be banned for life from WS if I wrote what I really thought!
But every so often I have to rant!!!  :furious:

I know the woman (grandmas friend) who said that VERY well and I cannot believe those words came out of her mouth, I am willing to bet it was really the grandmother who actually said it.

it irks me to no end that everyone is still reporting this as "an attempt to initiate brooke into the sex ring "breckenridge".

it was no such thing, it was premeditated kidnap, rape, torture, and murder.

i dont see how anyone could look at all the evidence and conclude anything else, it is IMPOSSIBLE that he had any expectation of letting her go. there was nothing about the plan that would have allowed them to ever let her go.

why isnt anyone reporting this?!

grrrrrrrrrrrr...

edit - whether or not the rape and torture took place is unknown at this point, im sure that LE already knows but we cant say for sure yet. but there can be no doubt that it was the plan to do these things.

While Michael Jacques continues to be the focal point of the investigation into the death of his niece Brooke Bennett, Vermont corrections officials are re-examining the decision to release Jacques from probation earlier than his 1993 conviction for kidnapping and raping a young female allowed.
In an interview yesterday, Vermont Commissioner of the Department of Corrections Rob Hofmann said that while the judge who approved Jacques's early release indicated in her ruling that a probation officer supported the decision, internal documents show the department was opposed to letting Jacques off probation. Hofmann said the department is investigating the discrepancy. (more at link)

I actually believe the entire "family" has a big problem. For her(grandmother}to state "He is just sick" What do they think went on here? How many children did he molest and we know of one child dead...How many more could possibly be dead? But he is "just sick". This case has me completely in disgust.

I may have read wrong but I thought the family friend made that comment. So it seems that the "sickness" extends further than the family.

bdmama,

I want to thank you for filling us in on the visitation lastnight. So sad!!!!!
Hope you can do the same for the funeral today. I am anxious to find out if Denise goes?

Cassandra & her kids live with Lucinda correct?

I personally found it a odd choice of words to use regardless of who said it. Brooke had been gone close to a wk at that point & not as tho she was a runaway.

im glad that something that might come out of this will be vermont taking a hard look at their laws regarding sexual offenders.

in this case i dont think it mattered that he was released early, or that his probation was cut short, because he was in fact already raping his stepdaughter while he was still on probation and on the day he stood there and the judge told him he was cured.

the problem in this case is that he was released AT ALL.

Some of the vermont laws are ok, but alot of them need to be looked at and be redone, Alot of vermonters dont even like the laws and some of them just are so stupid.

IMO, it's not just Vermont that needs to rethink some of its laws.

she is doing what her daughters learned from her -look the other way, deny, and at least you have a man....

Seems so many of the cases we see have woment that think this way --:furious:

Maybe they should put the judge in the cell with MJ to see if she changes her mind about his success in the program.

I seriously can't imagine how the girl he raped & tortured & got 4 yrs for felt, when she heard he had been released. :furious: God bless her!!!!

Yes there are lots of other states that need to take a long look at their laws. Jessie's Law has only been passed in 33 states.
that leaves a few that have a problem with the wording, or the sentences contained in the law. Wonder why the lawmakers in those states have a problem?

Amazing isn't it? There is no way in the world my MOM would have taught us that. Her mother didn't teach her that way either. Grandma was raised by her grandparents so they taught her different than maybe ggrandma was taught.

Sounds as if the Vermont Department of Corrections might be anticipating a lawsuit. I wonder who the Judge and the probation officer have retained for councel?

I agree. If the judge had thought she would have to live by him, I wonder if she would have ruled a different way.
