I can't help but wonder if Monsters #1 & #2 quickly donned a set of shackles in an attempt to make it appear that the chaining of their tortured/abused children was a harmless family game in which they all willingly participated - a ridiculously lame effort in trying to create a hasty cover of their horrific abuse.

IOW: "We were play acting! See - we have chains on, too!"

Why else would the monster-parents have been wearing "chains" when LE arrived?

I believe the parent shackles were when they were brought to the courtroom. SOP for prisoners.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Ca. (January 18, 2018) – In response to offers of help pouring in from around the country, Riverside University Health System Foundation has opened a support fund for the 13 siblings rescued from their Perris home earlier this month, officials announced Thursday.

“Our phones started ringing almost immediately with calls from private individuals and organizations wanting to know how they can help,” said Erin Phillips, executive director of RUHS Foundation. She said the 501(c)3 charity will transfer 100 percent of all funds raised to a trust being established for the siblings’ long-term needs.

Phillips said the Foundation is focused on raising financial support for the physical, educational and other needs that will arise. The support fund can only receive tax-deductible financial contributions and gift cards, she said.

“We recognize financial gifts will not eliminate their trauma, but additional resources will be extremely important in helping these victims adjust over time,” Phillips said, adding that those needs would be ongoing.

Chuck Washington, chairman of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, said he is proud of the way Riverside County agencies and community-based organizations are pulling together to help the brothers and sisters.

“We are heartened by the caring individuals around the world who believe no child or adult should suffer abuse or neglect,” Washington said.

Yes I wanted to mention Genie. She ended up in bad places again as a ward of CA state I think. Terribly abused all over again. Hoping this will not or can not happen again. She was initially fought over by doctors and researchers and caregivers on how best to help her. So sad

Genie's case was really singular, thank God.

I first heard of it (decades ago) from a friend who was a professor of linguistics. Many linguists (and philosophers) were fascinated by her case because they saw it as an opportunity to prove or disprove theories about whether or not language is learned or inate.

In other words, one camp of those who assumed control of Genie- and that's what it was- were academics who treated her as an experiment, not as an actual, desperately bereft human being.

The other camp vying for custody of Genie IMO cared about her and her well being, but they didn't win the battle, and Genie was left at the mercy of the self-serving experimenters who abandoned her when she didn't perform to their satisfaction.

Genie's case is so horrible not just because of the unimaginable abuse she originally suffered, but because even after being rescued she was never provided with the ongoing nourishment and love of.....anyone.

Whatever happens next, and whether or not all of them can ever recover fully, these kids are simply not going to suffer Genie's fate, thank God.
 
I'm looking forward to convictions. I'm looking forward to the siblings disappearing from media coverage. I'm looking for an update five years from now showing recovery for all of them - and all of us will gather here to say, "Awesome!"

Looking forward to that day.

I hope not. But revictimization of abuse victims is sadly common. Genie or not.

Well... "The Evil Pair" is better than " sperm donor" which I somehow feel belittles the conception/existence of these extraordinary survivors. ( not to mention just being a plain ol trashy term). I really appreciate the many posters that are carefully considering these young people when posting. It's likely, ( sadly), that they love their parents, and while they grapple to understand the reality of the abuse, it will be painful enough without negative references to their own birth/ conception. jmo.

Me too. And she may be. Look at all the cases that have kinda been like this. She been with him since she was 16. Not giving her a pass, but jmho see it coming.

IMO These disgusting animals have not shown a shred of caring toward their children. I doubt they’ll start showing any now. They’ll probably take it to trial, professing their innocence to the very end.

Just completely reprehensible!!

Nope, I don't see the children missing those torturers.
For TWO YEARS there were plans being made for salvation.
Each child watched the others laying in their own filth or tied to the furniture. And were themselves made to suffer the same.
Love, amongst each other, yes.
The bastards, no.
