Thanks for catching up the thread with media, Kimi. I hope we have some breaking news of a couple of captures or surrenders soon.

If a 12/13 year old can get to Tijuana, I imagine a 16 and 19 year old can go much further into Mexico. I wonder if they dropped Nelly off with her family. And if so, what was the family told about them? Or, if Nelly just showed up on the bus, what were they told? How did Nelly plan to go deeper into Mexico as she threatened? She had to have help of some kind. At least her grandfather did the right thing. This case is so strange.
 
Just finished reading this thread, wow, what a convoluted case. Three missing girls. One ends up dead, one found across the border and the third,still missing. The girls all knew each other and the dead girl was found near the residence of the gal in custody. And then there is this 19 year old guy.

We certainly know now why Nelly did not want to come back to SD and wanted to run further into Mexico. She was involved somehow in the murder. I'm surprised she came back.

Don't want to say much else because I did not read any of the links and in the past I've stepped in it by citing something that turned out to be rumor from FB.

I hope they find Janeth, but I doubt she wants to be found cuz I think she's into all this up to her eyebrows.

Congrats on some good sleuthing being done here. Now we need Justice for Anna.

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, we're all trying to keep quiet about stuff on SM, but it's hard. :)

Regarding Nelly, I'd love to know what her grandfather said to her when he found her at a strip mall in TJ. Somehow, he had enough control over her to deliver her to the border. I wonder how the family feels about him!

I've noticed the news stopped urging citizens to be on the look out for Daniel Flores, and the missing Janith Mendoza.

No, I don't think LE has just forgotten that 14 yr. old Anna was found murdered. It may look like the search has gone cold, but I must remind myself that so much happens behind the scenes.

I'm thinking that if they have gone to Mexico, they would need to be extradited when found, and that is a complex and fairly lengthy process at best. IIRC In order to even start the process, they have to know where they are. Hopefully, the silence means that they know where they are and Mexico is doing its part.

I looked it up for the Kendra Hatcher murder in TX and I'll see if I can find the info again.

If the extradition laws apply to minors, that does mean we do know that LE has some significant stuff on Nelly if they were able to extradite her to return her to the US earlier.

Article 3 of the treaty sets out the evidence required to successfully obtain an extradition. This article states that the extradition shall be granted only if the evidence is sufficient, according to the laws of the requested party, for committing the defendant to trial. It has been my experience, however, that the case must be fairly strong.

I don't think Nelly was officially extradited. Her grandfather found her at a strip mall and arranged to turn her over to authorities in the US. He brought her to the San Ysidro border crossing and the authorities took over from there. I just don't think it ever got into the extradition process. That can't even start until they know where the person is (an address).

Of course, now that Nelly has been questioned and charged as an accessory after the fact, I expect the US has significant information to use if they have to extradite JM and DF. But Mexico won't extradite if the death penalty is on the table. So fleeing to Mexico at least guarantees a murderer that they won't face execution. The deeper they go into Mexico, the harder it will be to find them. Thankfully, Nelly's grandfather did the right thing before she could go further. JMO

Oh! I love how you slipped Adele's "Rumor Has It" in there! Smooth LOL. I've seen online rumors too. We're stuck with what LE has said in MSM about JM probably being in Mexico. I haven't seen anything anywhere about DF. I think they'd be dumb NOT to go to Mexico though.
 
I found an article that stated Nelly was with JM but I'm not sure if it's considered MSM so I'm hesitant to post it.

What's the date on that article? I know way early on MSM and LE were saying they were definitely together, but I thought that'd faded more recently.

Yes, LE thought they might be together earlier, but they must have separated at some point if that was the case, since Nelly is back here now. I have a feeling they left together though. JMO

Are they together in Mexico? IMO, it'd be easier to spot them if they're together. I've seen some cases where the suspect gets too comfortable partying down there and gets caught in some cantina. Does Daniel speak Spanish?

For all we know, Daniel could be in Los Angeles. They could be anyplace! Really, I don't know how LE does it, but they do.

It might help that Janith has some easy to spot tattoos. But gee, she sure has managed to get "lost".

The general public only has one picture that has been released of Daniel Flores. No mention of how tall he is or if he has any distinguishing tattoos, or may wear big black glasses sometimes. Nothing about him on on the local news lately. That's why I think LE must be tracking him down in other ways, and maybe in other locales.
