hoping they cant prove murder?

The best-case scenario here would be if the grandmother is hiding the little boy somewhere w/ someone else, but would she let her son go on trial for murder to keep the boy away?

You need evidence to charge someone with murder.

I think there is something fishy with the Grandma. IMO. I would like to believe that if she was seen with them at Disneyland and now the little boy is no where to be found, she would be talking with police and there would be more info on where she was/what she was doing. I would think she would be working on clearing her name as much as possible instead of hiding out and not commenting. And maybe there is more to her story that we just don't know about yet.

We don't really know anything about the woman, other than she was with them at Disneyland. I'm sure LE have talked with her, though.

Is Lake Cachuma the kind of place you'd drive 2+ hours to visit just for a day trip with a kid? Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Are both mom and dad armenian or just the mom? Report said LE checking with airlines family in Armenia.

Well, Andressian is an Armenian name, so I'd say that the father is Armenian, in ancestry at least -- I don't know that he comes from there. I don't know anything about the little boy's mother.

Ugh I hate seeing they are searching a lake.

IMHO there is no way G'ma is hiding the boy. I think she knows what happened but I don't think she is hiding him.

Are there a lot of activities or recreational things for kids? For just a day visit?
There are lots of activities on the weekends. Catfish fishing contests for kids. People having birthday parties, picnics, family get togethers, walking dogs, hanging out around the lake. Going out on a boat.

Ive gone early in the morning to fish and come home early evening. Im about two hours away. I would guess they still allow boats on the lake. Its been about 6 years since ive been there. They do have camping. Its very busy in the summer.

I know lake cachuma well as it is our reservoir. It is large but no there are not a lot of activities there at this time of year. You can rent a boat and go fishing, but the boat rental would have record of you and they require a large deposit. you can fish from shore but it is extremely muddy as we are only at 51% capacity due to the drought. You are not allowed to swim or wade or touch the water as it a restricted reservoir. The lake was recently stocked for fishing. There is a small camping area relative to the length of the perimeter of the lake.

You must pay for a camping site and there aren't that many. There is 1 small store there and i small burger stand. You would have to travel 15 miles or so to get into santa ynez valley for restaurants.

There is a trail around part of the lake but it is not accessible on all sides except by boat.

I hope he didn't put him in the lake, wouldn't his little body have floated to the surface by now due to gases? I hope he didnt put him in a suitcase. I would hope a big popular recreation lake like that would have cctv cameras.

I wonder if the father went to the casino on Friday or Saturday night. The Chumash Casino is a huge draw to people coming to the Santa Ynez Valley. When traveling to the casino from Santa Barbara you pass Lake Cachuma.

But dad was there on a Friday. I can't imagine there were any family friendly/kid events going on, on the Friday when most kids are in school and parents are working.

I highly doubt there are many cameras there. Perhaps around the ranger station and certainly near the spillway and dam.

Great info thank you. I havent been in so long i just remember going on weekends in the summer with lots going on.

"Cachuma Lake Recreation Area

Open every day
Day-Use hours are from 6:00AM to Sunset
Office hours are from 7:00AM to 3:30PM
Gate is staffed from 7:00AM to 5:00PM and staffed later on Fridays during the summer."

How well is the area monitored for visitors staying after sunset? If it is well policed it would have made it a little harder to dispose of body/evidence at night time and I would think that it would be hard to go unnoticed during daylight since it seems to be a popular area. I know where I am from, there are hours listed but very rarely does anyone monitor the areas so people use it as more of a "suggestion".

*EDIT - Is this only in the recreation area while there are other non monitored areas to access the lake? I'm not sure how this lake is set up and just realized how big this lake really is.
