I would bet he was homeless and hadn't been there that long.

this is not good..looks more like a flood control tunnel than a bridge

I said they WEREN'T on drugs.

To the rest...I really don't know what to say. <modsnip>

I am working off of interviews, news articles and police reports. What evidence actually known to us, at this time, supports your assertions?

PS Renner is controversial, and not really a specialist, as in, he's not LE he doesn't solve crimes.

I agree with all your points here about them NOT going missing voluntarily. It's very rare for not only one, but TWO young, social people to choose to disappear. Millennials especially are so dependent on their phones and social media. There's just no way IMO that BOTH decided to "run away." Like you said, they're grown adults so why would they need to run away to be together? And risk having no money, job, health insurance to live off the grid. Seems ridiculous in this case. I'm not going to waste any more energy on this theory. It's pointless imo.

I'm thinking if they were being pursued they could have used the ON-star?

This long shot of the bank makes me think that perhaps they went 50 foot forward and up the bank. Where the vehicle was is pretty steep.
I remember covering all of this: google maps, images of the roadside, ariel views, back when they first went missing. There is a chain-link fence up there, about 50' from the road, give or take.

We wondered if dogs attempted to track their scent beyond the other side of the fence. Farther in is a golf course, then a subdivision. There is no "field" past the fence.

If you'll recall, we talked about what you could see from up there, and that you would draw attention to yourself by being up there. There is no where to go except follow the fence line up and down the freeway, or hop the fence.

It's a "body" and not "human remains", so it probably hasn't been there very long. What would the case be if a person was left out there, exposed to the elements for over two months in the summer?

I totally respect what you're saying. I just don't see any evidence of foul play here. Not even a stray hair. And it wasn't you that said it, but the car WAS full of gas. Yes they were social, but we don't know what was going on in their lives. You know how we always think that other people have the perfect lives but we don't know what goes on behind closed doors? Maybe there WAS something to escape from. It's just a theory that I posed because I haven't seen one indication that they were taken and I think that's something worth looking into. <modsnip>

Honestly Renner is probably the last person on the planet I would use as a justification for my theories. Just sayin.

I didn't use Renner to justify my theory. I referenced a source he used in his book that I have worked with professionally.

I think it is only semantics..the article does say "appears to be".. and that takes time.

1. As indicated early in the thread, Jon was very active on social media, but Audrey and Jon were not active on each other's accounts. This may be a sign that the relationship was new or that one side's family didn't approve. Perhaps they ran away together?

And survive how and move to where? They didn't empty their bank accounts prior to leaving and haven't used any banks cards since they disappeared. Plus, he was unemployed and she went to school, so what skill set do they posses to earn a living? He was 28 living with a roommate and she was 26 living with her parents. He didn't drive for what ever reason and she didn't even own a car. <modsnip> all of the sudden they are going to disappear without trace and make it somewhere else like Mexico or something?

2. They're young, there are no assets. Neither of them have children or own a car or home. Allow me again to point again to the Maura Murray case which many strongly suspect is a voluntary disappearance. Neither of these people had many obligations in life, making it easy to "start over."
28 and 26 years old. Both grown adults and don't need Mommy and Daddy's permission to date and no reason to suddenly abandon everyone in their life.

3. The car owned by the Moran family was left on the side of a highway. It would be very easy to catch an Uber or Lyft to any train or bus station or an airport. The scent tracking could be an indicator of the couple waiting for their ride. Plus, I dont even think that you can request a pickup on the side of a freeway.

An Uber or Lyft? If so, how do you think they paid for this ride? They would not use such a service that could easily provide detectives with information such as their destination if they were trying to disappear.

4. The text of the photo could be cold feet or a sign that they're going to be together.
Makes no sense.

5. The car came up completely clean. No evidence of foul play and the police are saying that homicide is in charge for resources only.

<modsnip>

Yes, there is no evidence of foul play, but you can not ignore the clues left behind. The car was parked on the side of a freeway. The car worked fine and has gas in it. Police found her purse in the car. Dogs picked up their scent outside of the vehicle. Both phones are off. They left all of their belongings behind.

You keep saying that they wanted to disappear. Its that not easy. Their ID's, credit cards, etc. have all been flagged, so they can not use them or board a plane. They had no money or car. Its not that easy.

As Force Ten pointed out, the amount of time that has transpired, also indicates that a voluntary missing scenario, seems unlikely. It's not that people can't leave of their own accord. But when they do, there are usually extenuating circumstances-like mental health issues, drugs, and crime. John List went missing of his own accord, but he had good reason to do so.

Nothing in either AM or JDR's life really lends itself to these two needing or wanting to leave.

I'm not saying they WANTED to disappear, I was simply asked by another user to make the argument for lack of foul play and I did.

the unidentified body found yesterday, 50 miles east of coachilla does not bode well

I was reading the coroners reports for Riverside County and looking at other crimes in the area. What makes this disappearance stand out from other crime in that region is that most of the time when someone is killed, it's obvious. And the gang related deaths follow a similar MO. Someone pretty much gets shot where they stand, no one attempts to hide the murder.

There have been some missing young women cases that didn't turn out well, where the bodies were hidden, but there was nothing like this case where two, or even one young person almost seems to evaporate into air, and their vehicle is left so neatly behind-showing no obvious signs of foul play.

It's unusual. And I don't know what this means, but I do believe that a crime occurred. So maybe we are looking for an unusual perp/s.

I agree. I am not saying that it is impossible to disappear but its not that easy to do it successfully and without trace. Good luck turning on cellphone service, getting a mortgage, bank account, renting an apartment , etc. without ID. I am pretty certain that all states require a picture (facial recognition) and a fingerprint to get an ID. I dont think they were dumb enough to move from the United States of America to a place like Mexico.
