It's the same bad reporting from day 1. The picture they're referring to is the same one plastered everywhere of them in a restaurant and it wasn't sent to the sister... Audrey's mom clarified that it was sent to her from Audrey's phone that night on the 1st KMIR special.

That article is just a revised previous article originally posted in June I think.

No I know what pic it is.. I just didn't realize LE decided Audrey sent it to her sister "for fun" and that there was nothing suspicious about her sending it

Yeah it's been the report since early on since no foul play has been identified (as far as we know).

I think our wires are crossed. I know they never said foul play was suspected, they had them listed as voluntary missing (idk if that's still the case, I can't remember). I'm specifically talking about LE saying that Audrey sent the picture for fun. I hadn't recalled them saying she sent it "for fun". That just seems like a strange thing to say. I've never randomly sent my sister a picture of me and my husband "for fun". JMO

if I may.. who sent the pic and why has to be an assumption. It was caption-less as far as I recall.
thanks

I apologize in advance if anything I say is not allowed. I'm very new to posting and still trying to learn the rules. I had also not heard that it was "for fun" before this article. I was under the impression that her family and LE suspected it may have been sent by someone other than AM, or that they were at least still considering that possibility. I find it kind of strange that someone would just send a random pic of herself and her boyfriend for no reason other than "for fun". It seems even more strange that it was supposedly an older pic taken days prior. I wonder what led LE to believe that there was nothing suspicious about that text?!?! MOO

Same. If I'm sending my sister a pic for fun, it's either a meme or a pic of her where she looks terrible bc I'm a good sister like that 😊 If I randomly sent my sis a pic of me and my SO from days earlier, that'd be super weird and frankly awkward. Unless there was additional context to that text that we are not aware of, I def think it's strange.

I truly do not remember them saying it's for fun, but then again it's been a while at this point.

I've run through scenerio after scenerio, and the only thing that makes sense to me is if JR is fine, and AM is not. Someone picked them up that night or morning on the 10. Someone. They had to have moved to another car. Someone loyal enough to never tell, and to not be overwhelmed with concern about JR.

The "for fun" addition must come from something LE knows that they haven't shared, such as an unannounced communication. If not, that is very very poor reporting by the media. I really don't know if I trust the media anymore, after seeing so much made up stuff just to exxagerrate and dramatize a situation.

absolutely.. the reporters are not literally "reporters of news" they spice up or titillate to get noticed = promoted.
And sometimes quick on the draw before all the facts are in. Not all reporters but alot.

Or maybe I should say someone at least picked him up. Just the only thing that makes sense. I truly hope they are both fine and being held somewhere, but it's unlikely.

Well the problem is...on a given day there are say 350 calls..sorting them say 100 are theft(not all are vehicle). It does not specify car fire at all. it gives an address..this is for the WHOLE valley.I spent 3 hours on ONE day, going to the address then opening the next day and seeing if there was a matching address..nope I can't do it, unless you can tell me how to download it all into a spreadsheet, I spent about 30 minutes trying......Even if we knew an area it would help. You can join part of it through the link, it will then give you the option to sort by certain crime and area.

I went to Riverside County Fire website but their call sheets are only for a month and I couldn't find an archive.

Should probably center around May 22nd. Just a hunch. But need to find a more detailed source for the report.

Is it new that the photo she sent to her sister was for fun and not suspicious? I don't remember reading that. Interesting. It seems weird to me to send a pic from days before of you and your new bf to your sister randomly for fun but that's JMO

I felt it best to respond to the original post on this. I'm unclear how reporter would conclude the pic was sent "for fun". The root of the story is actually from the mother, not the sister because the picture was sent to her mom. As recounted by her mother she asked where she was. I'm guessing she was out later than usual or should had been home from work by then. The response the mother got was the picture and "With Jonathon". It's just bad reporting all around.

I wish we knew what time the actual exchange happened.

This post lands at random.

Reminder that if you have a tip, please do not post it here or any public forum. Just contact LE with the information and let them do their jobs (which at times just might include disinformation).

Disinformation is intentional false / misleading information (so not the same as “misinformation” which is simply a mistake).

[h=1]Coachella Valley couple vanishes, missing four months today[/h]
COACHELLA VALLEY - It's been a long journey for two families who continue the search for a Valley couple who've been missing for four months Sunday.

Their families have announced a fundraiser to take place Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 5 - 9:30 p.m. at Stuft Pizza at the Westfield Mall in Palm Desert. Maria Moran tells News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 a portion of the proceeds will go toward the search efforts, which include ordering and mailing out bracelets with their names and tip line number, and printing and distributing flyers.

You can RSVP to the fundraiser here.

If I can find time this week, I will work on it.

Does anyone know what model or phone brand she has?I know on my Galaxy S7 I have an emergency option where I can click the home button or the power button so many times and a text say SOS or a picture and I think one other option will be sent to the list of people I have under my emergency contacts

She had an iPhone. You can tell because in the KMIR where they spoke to her friend and she showed texts between the two of them, the text bubble was blue indicating iPhone user.
