For what you guys are speculating, what do you think motive could have possibly been? Why Beau?

Possibly a situation that just escalated and escalated.

I don't think his 911 call was a mistake. I think he genuinely needed help.

And who's to say this Uber driver hasn't tried something hinky before but just not managed to pull it off...? Or maybe he has?!

Is it normal to drive a van as an Uber? I don't think it is. It's usually a normal 5 seater car.

MOO.

They do have an option called UberXL where you can get a larger SUV or van. Sometimes, if you order a regular Uber you’ll get one of those. Back when I Ubered a lot in Chicago I got vans every once in awhile.

Is it his last known location when he was never seen there? More like alleged known location. The timing of them posting this is interesting.

Noting:

[...]

According to a press release put out by the Los Angeles Police Department, Beau “was last seen on November 30, 2021, around 2:00 p.m., at a convenience store, on the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard.”

Officer Jill Calhoun is assigned to investigate Beau’s case for the LAPD. Officer Calhoun told Dateline that the LAPD Missing Persons’ Unit officially received a notice that Beau was missing on December 17, 2021. They learned that Beau was dropped off by an Uber at a 7-Eleven on Ventura Boulevard and obtained security footage from that day. “The Uber is definitely being investigated,” Officer Calhoun told Dateline. “I can't disclose the details, but it has definitely been investigated.”

[...]

Officer Calhoun confirmed to Dateline that the LAPD did receive a 911 text from Beau and that “several attempts were made to contact [him] via that correspondence.” Beau never responded. Officer Calhoun told Dateline that despite that, her office does not suspect foul play at this time.

Jason disagrees. He believes all signs point back to Uber. While looking through the Uber records, Jason said he discovered the app shows Beau being dropped off at the 7-Eleven on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City at around 2:05 p.m. It is believed that at some point during that time, Beau sent a text to 911. It then shows him as dropped off at Berkeley Street in Santa Monica, California at 2:35 p.m. But Jason said no one ever saw him there. “That should make everybody nervous,” Jason said.

I heard about this case a while back but have just started following and reading up.

This makes absolutely no sense to me:

1) Passenger gets into Uber and sends a 911 message indicating that he is in trouble…

2) Passenger goes missing and is not seen or heard from after that 911 alert…

3) Uber driver indicates he dropped the passenger off at a specific location, but the cameras at that location show no sign of the passenger at the location…

4) According to the “Help Find BM” page on Facebook (run by the missing man’s mother), the Uber driver took off the next week from work and was seen by neighbours cleaning his car a lot.

5) LAPD have not yet executed search warrants, months after the event, so evidence could have been destroyed.

The glaringly obvious suspect is the Uber driver so if he’s entirely innocent, just interview him, release the info to support the fact that he is innocent, and continue the investigation.

Sources for the above are here: Beau Mann sent a text to 911 for help; now he's been missing for over 5 months

Agree 100%

Beau's fiance has a list of questions on his FB page that he says are still bothering him. In one of the questions he is asking, "has the LAPD looked into Beau's elevated mental status"? Just wondering if he had a history of mental illness such as bipolar disorder.

If a person takes an Uber, does the rider normally get into the back seat of the car? What I'm getting at is it seems if a rider is in the back seat they would have had the time to insert more words into an emergency text to 911 without the driver's interference. Unless, of course, the driver took Beau down a deserted street 5 minutes from the store and was able to gain physical control of Beau. In that scenario, I can't imagine there wouldn't have been blood evidence found in the car from a struggle. Anythings possible though.

He was a recovering (or possibly relapsed) addict, so obviously some mental health issues.

For all we know, the police may have thoroughly investigated the Uber driver and cleared that person. We only have stories from those in Beau's circles and there seems to be some tension between the family and fiancée groups, IMO.

FWIW, the official family group doesn't seem interested in the Uber driver at all and was concerned about a different suspect. IMO, they're getting more/better info from LE. I tend to think LE cleared the Uber driver.

The family's initial stance was not super smart, imo. We don't know who the uber driver is, so there is no urgent need to clear his name. I honestly think this whole thing about the uber driver is mostly he said, she said.

I'm confused... I thought this was the official family page run by Amy (Beau's mom). She just posted this about Uber on May 19:
