I don't think BB had contact lenses, otherwise why would his mother make this statement? If she was escorting him to dentist appointments, I would assume she would know if he had contacts and had visited an eye doctor:

"He left our house that night with no wallet, no money, no identification, no credit cards, no keys, no eyeglasses - this is someone that needs to wear eyeglasses," Jeanne said.

Another thing I noticed in the LATimes article this morning is that his mom referred to him in the past tense. Could be nothing, but it struck me as strange.

The father did that as well, on a live interview at the park on Sunday morning, but corrected himself right away. I don't read much into that ,as they are going through a lot right now with each day passing.

Which is an odd statement, in all his photos, I haven't seen him once wear glasses.

His father (I believe) stated he might have been wearing his contacts. I posted this before. I wear contacts but have to take them out every night and need my glasses when I do. Not having his glasses with him would indicate, even if he was wearing his contacts (if he took them out every night and relied on his glasses), that he didn't intend to stay out for an extended period of time (days on end) if he didn't have his glasses with him.

I think the past tense is because they are talking about things BB did in the past. He isn't at school any more and they aren't on those trips any longer. I don't think it was because BB is in the past tense, but that those activities are (at least that is how I took his mother's comment on him being at school.)

But his mother said he needed his eyeglasses. What do these glasses look like, anyone find a picture of him with glasses?

And then the mother went on to say yesterday:

“If there’s any way you can come home, whatever has happened, wherever you’ve been, whoever you’ve talked to — it doesn’t matter,” she said. “We love you so much that we would give up everything we have to have you back.”

My theory:

Blaze and “hs friend” talked on snapchat extensively. They arranged to meet up and possibly hook up. They went to the park and something happened in the bathroom that made Blaze uncomfortable and run off. “Hs friend” waited in car to see if Blaze came back while he continued to text him trying to convince him to come back. Blaze didn’t return so the friend left. Blaze texted his best friend telling them what happened and that was the last text he sent before his phone died. He could have been too embarrassed and shooken up to return home.

Also, the hs friend for all we know gave 1 story to the police and has stuck with that 1 story and the media is just reporting hearsay which is why there are different stories of what the friend supposedly said happened.

Another thing- Just because they used the term hs friend doesn’t mean they were friends in high school. I have friends that I refer to as hs friends that I didn’t actually become friends will until we were out of hs but because we attended the same one I now refer to them as hs friends. It could have been someone he knew of in high school but didn’t befriend until Snapchat after highschool. The possibilities are endless.

His very good friend did state (on the HUFBB page) that he wore contacts, but usually took them out each day at some point when they became uncomfortable.

I have not been a teenager for ages -40 next month- so maybe it's just ignorance but I have been curious since the beginning of this case, is this app to send messages which leaves no permanent record a thing that everybody uses these days? or a teenage thing?

I don't understand why someone would use something that does not leave a permanent record. And in cases like this it would be so useful to have the content of those messages that cannot be retrieved now.

My other question is... the friend when he was texting BB to ask where he was, was he using the same app or is there a record of the actual messages he sent and its content?

Thanks.

This is the only one I've seen him with glasses. His mom posted this awhile back. I think he's younger in this photo.

I agree.

Snapchat is widely used, not just among teenagers, although it is popular with them.

It's primarily image and video based but can also be used to send texts. Captions can be included.

This is the only pic I could find with glasses, but not even here are on his eyes.

This is a good theory. I read up on the park reviews on yelp people advised anyone visiting the park should go to the bathroom before going that the restroom was undesirable it's very small with one stall.

7 days since he went missing. No money, ID or cell. I wonder if there was someone close to him that was always in contact with him that suddenly isn't calling anymore. I am thinking maybe someone could be assisting him. Just speculating, thinking of other scenarios.

FWIW, I take an anti-depressant offlabel for OCD, and I have said the exact phrase that BB’s mother has said when discussing my medication; “I need it to function.” I have been without it before, and it is ugly... even other anti-depressants can’t help.

There should not be any shame or stigma for BB needing medication, or having a medical condition that requires medication to treat it.

JMO, MOO, etc.

youre absolutely right. I hope my post didn’t come off in that way to mean to shame. I have many extended family members with mental illness and I am also in the social work field and have dedicated my life to helping others in need. I was just thinking it is valuable to know this information. Like you said, if it’s needed to function he may not be thinking clearly? I’m sorry if it may have come across differently.

Also ive been meaning to address the borrowed phone topic. Whatever the reason being for him not having his phone. Maybe his old phone had the find my phone thing turned on. And so that was why the discussion was had to make sure he had it turned on with this borrowed relatives phone. Just my thoughts.

I'm seriously nearsighted, and had to quit contacts when I reached middle age and needed trifocals. I never am photographed with my glasses on, I remove them and smile for the camera. It could be as simple as he thought he took a better photo with them off.

Question, do they know who the third person is that met him at the park and are not releasing who it is? OR is the third person a mystery person that they do not know who he was meeting?

They, supposedly, are not known to the driver friend or the parents so I doubt LE know this information as of yet. If there was a third person.

I wish we knew what was in that darn last text that caused the parents to conclude he had been involved in foul play. This was their words in very first brief interview right after he went missing on my local Socal news broadcast.
