Also, it's Paul's daughter (Dianna's stepdaughter) in Florida who's selling the book. I think she's just trying to do whatever she can for the search from far away. She must feel so helpless. :(

I read on the FB search page that one couple took their plane out and searched the area a couple of times, which makes me even more incredulous that they haven't been found yet!

All of the searchers deserve a big THANK YOU! I've been on searches and know with every step you are hoping to find something, anything, as a clue. Sometimes I have felt a sense of relief when nothing is found because that might mean there is hope. It has been years since I joined a search team because I'm too old and with health problems now. I can stay at the base and help, and also drive to many places and put out flyers. People do this for others because they care. I feel so very fortunate not to have had any family members disappear.

I have thought of this couple constantly and pray that they will be found.

I was involved in the search for Ksenia Quiros last month.
I hear ya on that, that people do this because they care.
I never met Ksenia, and I had tears in my eyes when she was located deceased.
It was suicide. Very sad. Her son passed away earlier in April, a cadet at the Air Force Academy
that would have graduated this month. She couldn't go on living any more...

I am hoping that Dianna and Cecil will be found alive, although I know time has passed, but one can Hope! :)

ETA:
I have had a family member go missing.
My grandfather.
He left on purpose.
My grandmother died of tuberculosis and my grandfather up and left, so my father and his brothers grew up in an orphanage.
Sad! VERY SAD!
I found his death certificate on line several years ago. He died before I was born.
The heartache my family has felt all those years!!!!
IMOO.

Thank You!
You see he left, saying he was looking for work in another state. He never returned.
The death certificate showed he lived ten years after he decided to up and leave and he didn't contact anyone!!
Thing is... my dad and his brothers ended up being successful people. Maybe the heartache propelled them to be their best. :)
Anyway, thanks for the hugs!

Sometimes it is not the immediate family who searches. I see there is a Go Fund Me and search volunteers, so the search is not going to stop, IMO.

I am being sincere when I say there seems to be something 'off' about this whole thing. It's just my own little opinion.

ETA: LE is not going to give up!
If they aren't found soon, I disagree. LE will move on, and so will searchers.

My goodness. That is heart wrenching. Poor boys. I'm so glad they grew up good. And found YOU. ;)

What kind words!! Thank You!! :)

I hope today is the day that Cecil and Dianna are found!
I just logged on, so I haven't had a chance to scour the internet looking for news about them.
Hopefully there will be more information coming.

Looking at the map, I am wondering maybe if they decided to go home, instead of going to their son's house.
I read or saw a video that mentioned that they arrived at the casino at 9:30, well, it's like an hour and a half drive or so from Fullerton, so that would put them at leaving around 8 that morning from their home.
Maybe they weren't feeling well, and decided to take an alternate route home, like going through Escondido over to Oceanside/Carlsbad and traveling north on I-5 to get back to Fullerton?
It doesn't explain the lack of reception on the car, though, or both cell phones turned off.
Just throwing out ideas...
IMOO.

I don't recall the answer to this, so maybe someone knows?
Wasn't it last year on Mother's Day that they won some money at the casino?
My question is, did they go to their son's house last year as well, from the casino, or
did they spend Mother's Day at the casino?
IMOO.

I still think if it was any type of health condition one of them would of phone someone. IDK the phones turning off at different times is so weird. Unless the cells died since both maybe forgot to charge them, but I would think they would of notice IDK..... I just wish they were found. If both phones did die, they could be trapped somewhere in an accident. It would help so much for some type of reverse call in those areas for home owners to walk their street to see if anything is stirred up.

I know, strange, huh. And her phone being shut off like around the time they leave the casino. That is some coincidence then, if she didn't plan to shut that phone off.
And it is some coincidence that his phone was shut off not too much later. I can understand if they didn't charge the phones, but so close to the time they left the casino?
It sounds like hers was shut off on purpose, and his, I don't know?
IMOO.

It was mentioned up thread that mom was bringing a desert. I wonder if it was homemade or store bought? If the desert wasn't homemade, were they going to purchase it on the way to son's house? Would they leave the desert in the car while at the casino for several hours?

This is interesting. I wonder if the son would know. Possibly the dessert was kept in a cooler.

I think it's strange too & my 1st thought was, since the family says she is always on her phone, there's a very good chance she had it in her hand as she got into the car & it was visible, where as his might have been in his shirt pocket, not visible, IF someone was in the backseat of their car, they would've seen her phone 1st resulting in hers being turned off almost immediately after getting in to the car & leaving the casino. And knowing his phone rarely rings he didn't make it known he had one to whomever was also in the car, but when she didn't answer hers maybe the kids tried his making it known he did in fact have one & then resulting in his being turned off at a later point.

And when I say someone in the car, it could be just some random person who also frequents the casino that had seen them on multiple occasions, who maybe thought the couple had money & decided they needed it more than Paul & Dianna did. Maybe one of them did have sirens going off at a machine or something & someone noticed, it could've been a $20 jackpot or a $20,000 jackpot, but maybe it just signaled a desperate person to take a desperate action.

These were my 1st thoughts upon reading their story.

I wonder if they were headed to a grocery store...

And wouldn't they have car chargers for the cell phones? Who goes on a long road trip without a car charger---especially if they both have serious health issues.

Older folks, my grandmother never had a charger in the car with her, mind you she always charged it up at home, but even on days she was going to be out & about all day she never took a charger or even had a car charger. Where as I have a charger stashed EVERYWHERE! My purse, my car, my desk at work, my nightstand....everywhere!

My mom and Dad, when in their 80's, still drove. They had car chargers and even gave me one because I usually charged at home only. I guess it depends upon the person. But since they both are diabetics and have other health concerns as well, I assumed they would have a car charger on a long road trip. JMO

And I assumed they would bring insulin, too, since the son said they didn't have their insulin and he went and got it for them, in hopes he would see them after them being missing.
IMOO.

Were they planning on just a short afternoon visit with their son or were they expecting to stay for a few days? That would make a difference in how much was packed in the car - extra clothes, medicine and other needs. I'm thinking they took a new insulin package rather than the open one that was found at the house.
