I could swear the first link I opened to the video showed all 3 cars. I have no idea which post # that was.

I only saw two white cars, the second car looked closer to their's, grill wise, but you're right, more like an SUV, the first is more like a sedan. Given the searchers and LE took the direction they did then, and that the no leads or tips have come in, there must be a good reason for LE not to be specific.

I've plotted my interpretation of the area you describe on the map as the Steelman Hypothesis, and linked it to this post. Please let me know if I'm misunderstand, or if you would prefer not to have it plotted at all.

Here's the link to the map:

Link added respectfully BM, to steelman's post.

Steelman Hypothesis,

A Bing map bird's eye map of the area

Just by way of example, this road labeled almost the same as the main road, may be possible wrong turn off.

That's pretty close to the area I was thinking about, minus any of the residential areas and businesses. I would include that first curve after turning right on Valley Center, there is a creek down at the bottom of that hill closest to the intersection. I have a bad feeling about that Hwy. 76.

If you read their Facebook page, you'll see where the comment was made that Paul liked to take shortcuts, and was prone to do that. Just a couple of miles after you turn onto Hwy. 76, it turns into a pretty desolate highway as it cuts through the La Jolla reservation. I would imagine there are tons of dead cell areas through there.

I don't understand why no ping was picked up at the pauma tower though, if they headed out that direction.
Maybe his battery died.....I don't know. If that's the case, they could be just about anywhere.

I take your point about excluding residential areas from the footprint, and have made an imperfect stab at that on the map. I also expanded the area a little to the south as you suggested.

Just checking in to see if there are any material updates, and sadly I see there are not.

I think this one has touched all of us, perhaps thinking of this duo in terms of our own grandparents, parents, or favorite Uncle & Aunt. A few minutes ago, already logically knowing the outcome, I permitted myself a little childlike magical thinking. I imagined Cecil & Dianna deciding to head for the border, for one last big spring break fling! Maybe some tequila poppers in TJ, and a bonfire on the beach.... Of course we know that isn't where they are, but it makes me smile to think of these two off on some grand adventure. At least wherever they are, we know they are together.

Beautiful thoughts roses. I hope they're found and with their own soon.

I thought by today there would be some sighting... of... something... somewhere... in the large area you've identified in this thread.

I had a bad feeling last Thursday though and decided it was time to sit on my hands and see what happened rather than violate TOS.

Still thinking of this couple and really hoping they are found soon.

What is your assessment of this?

Desperate People, Desperate Measures to raise money, but I have to say this is morbid, awkward, and strange, considering there is a Go Fund Me set up
to help, even though that might not garner as much money as they might have expected...
My heart is pounding, as this makes me feel weird... I don't know about you guys, but it just doesn't feel right.
Blood Money, or something, ick.
I understand the premise behind it, to raise more money, but it doesn't feel right, to me...
In My Opinion, Only.

If you look at the topography and where the cell phone tower is that pinged, considering: local complaints about carriers' dropped calls, even in the center of town; that the casino, set in a bit of a valley may have their own tower for a strong signal; then driving out of there, there seem to be some better straight lines of sight for a signal than others within 15 minute to half an hour range, going in either direction, then there are certain possibilities that seem stronger than others, again reflecting what roses and steelman have hypothesized.

Especially since the son was so quick to run to his parents' house to get all that financial info. I mean, you could look at it as being a good and fast sleuth, along with being former LE, or you could look at it as - "I want their money."

Edit: Oops, I should have quoted additional posts. Still, past actions can't be ignored. If someone was greedy and stupid before, they may not have learned from past mistakes.

Imo I think he was very smart doing that. He probably got their credit card information so LE could trace their credit cards transactions.

Exactly!!

What is your assessment of this?

If my husband and I went missing on a road trip, and our kids were heading up the searches, I would have no problem with them selling anything and everything on ebay, to fund the search parties. :candle:
