They upped his bail $3.15 million! So much for trying to console her...bad words...

Damn it... I think I was too invested in the early reports of her being "unharmed." I was hoping. I'm sure things would've gotten worse, so I hope they got to her before that happened.

She's alive (thank who/whatever you believe in!), and she's young enough that hopefully with enough love, support, and counseling she can move past this and I'm grateful for that, but I so hoped she hadn't been hurt at all other than the obvious emotional trauma.

I'm glad it seems they're treating the perp very aggressively. I still think he should have no bail at all, but I guess for most people $3.15 million is probably close enough to count.

Antioch suspect faces three additional attempted kidnapping charges

Douglas is additionally being charged with three counts of attempted kidnapping for sexual purposes in connection with three separate incidents involving unidentified Jane Does on January 2nd, according to court papers.

Not the best written article. Maybe they will edit it before others read it.

I love that officers went and woke her up to congratulate her! And I love that she described him as a weirdo!

"What she did was what truly broke the case," said Antioch police Lt. Tammany Brooks. Detectives went to her house to congratulate her, waking her up.

"That's when my heart started jumping, and I was feeling great that I helped bring the little girl home," she said.

Yay for someone trusting their intuition!!

A little more about the restraining order filed by his step-father.

Antioch kidnapping suspect had restraining order filed by own family in Nov.

In one instance Douglas allegedly screamed, “You better be careful how you talk to me. What you say to me.”

“He was threatening us,” the step-father wrote in the complaint.

Douglas also allegedly said, “I will be coming back to get (blank), you are high on my list.”

So he tried to kidnap grown women, and FAILED, so the coward went after 7 yr old. I hope he rots in he!!

I was so hoping he did not harm her that way.I now also believe he is faking his symptoms. What a .I hope he never gets out.

I found this charging document with charges/codes & bail per charge. What I don't understand is the $1m for "life without parole" on it. He qualifies so I guess that's why it's listed?

I'm so confused. So is he eligible for LWOP or not? I hope that's what he gets! I couldn't believe it when I read there was a bail amount at all. Our jail sentences in California are a complete joke IMO (maybe others places too, I'm just more familiar with California), but at least when I read LWOP it makes me think maybe they will stay where they belong.

Antioch child abduction suspect pleads not guilty

A public defender for David Allen Douglas said at the 43-year-old's second court appearance Wednesday that he "denies all allegations" related to the Jan. 3 kidnapping.

Douglas faces six felony charges, including three counts of attempted kidnapping for sexual purpose, that could land him in prison for life without parole if convicted.

I can see him doing a Jodi Arias on the stand. smh This guy irks me to no end.

So "could"... once again on this case, damn it. I don't trust sentencing whatsoever (in my experience, albeit limited, there's some sort of time vortex that means 1 day in jail=3 days in real life). So if he doesn't get LWOP he might be back out in a few years. That really scares me.
