Surveillance footage?

but that's not LE? who are all those people? is that a search organization or the general public again?

I read that the family was organizing a search today as well.

This is my first post. :)

I live about 16 min from the Happy Mart, along Gas Point Road near the GP Market and the Elementary School. We're only 3 minutes from I-5 and MG could have driven a LOT further than suspected. I keep thinking of old wells in the area.

I am also trained to read body language. MG is 100% guilty. In the vigil footage, you can see one point, when JG is speaking, where he looks off and then kind of tucks his chin down. His eyes are filled with guilt, but he is also super terrified of getting caught.

:fireworks2::welcome:

I can't really tell what his facial expressions mean but his actions in lying and refusing to cooperate coupled with the difficulty of getting onto that property and removing the baby without anyone noticing and the length of time he was gone in the opposite direction of his home, for no reason, have me convinced he is 100% guilty as well.

Hi Pansen! Welcome! Nice to have a local person!! Question: do a lot of people have security cameras in the Happy Valley area? Maybe nicer homes?

I think this may be the answer as water usually is. It was a quick answer, no need to dig or risk being seen as much. I think MG is getting sick as searchers get closer. Wouldn't be surprise if we hear of one more fatality by the time this is all over.

Looking at that photo it struck me what a terrible job that man has. Searching for cadavers.

Will someone repost the video of the vigil? I can;t find it and could not watch it earlier when I saw the link!!

So happy to have you join us, Pansen, although I wish the circumstances weren't so heartbreaking.

Thank you for such an eloquent and insightful first post. Your local perspective is always appreciated in cases like these. I do hope you will continue to contribute. There are countless threads on Websleuths that would benefit from talented new posters such as yourself. The fact that you're trained in body language analysis is an added bonus around these parts IMO :sleuth:

Hope you stick around. You'll be a WS veteran before you know it!

Me too. But at least he can bring victims to rest and give answers to grieving families. I thank him and others like him who do a job none of us would relish.

Teams specialized in ground search and man tracking are scouring terrains in the Ono area, Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said.

The sheriff, who spoke from a command post on scene, said new developments in the case lead his investigators to the small town. He said the teams are using cadaver search dogs.

The fresh leads were developed late Thursday and into today. He said they did come through a tip. At about 7 a.m., searchers began to sweep through the area. He declined to identify the specific locations for the search.

How the heck is MG so freaking detached!?!? No appeals to find his precious baby, no tears, and definitely cold toward JG! This is so bizarre, and it makes me so mad! Seriously, they are searching for a baby that went missing under his watch, and he is just standing there looking worried that they are about to bust him! I pray they find baby Ember today. Please let it be the day! Too bad MG couldn't be honest about what happened. Not accusing him, but nothing he has said makes sense to me, and I think he is withholding lots of info! Sorry, not sorry!

ETA- my comments above were mostly regarding the vigil video...

KRCR just mentioned a story on Ember is coming up later in the (5 pm) newscast. They said LE is still trying to fill in a gap in the timeline between the time MG was at the store and the video of his truck passing by an hour later. No mention of SC seeing MG and Ember.

The livestream flaked out on me so I'm reloading it. If I find the story I'll give y'all a timestamp. It may not have aired yet. In the meantime here's the link:

MG has pets, but likely so do neighbors. If we look at the street on a map, we can see that animals could easily roam freely throughout all the properties there.

Any dog from any owner could have accessed that yard.

I ask this theoretical question to all, not just the OP of this quote...

If YOUR dog harmed a baby and you found out, would you tell and risk your own freedom, or keep silent and figure what's done is done?
I answer you with another question - Are you a mother or a father? I assume and excuse me, I hope you aren't.
Well that was super rude and uncalled for. You are associating me with people who allow a druggie to live in a broken down trailer with no running water, and a cesspool as the septic tank. My question was theoretical, 100% related to the situation, and relevant. Maybe it needed a little more explanation, but its intent was to provide a different thought process, and it's rhetorical.

Maybe a better way to discuss the possibility of a dog attack is, have there been cases where dogs attacked and killed people, and the owners must surely have known, but kept silent?

The answer is yes. I can think of several cases.

I think sometimes we have a false idea of how innocent people act, just as we have a false idea of how drowning children act. Drowning children drown silently, seldom calling for help, as they quietly gasp and sink below the surface surrounded by people who, if they knew, could help.

Innocent people often just sit there looking stunned, and silent. Think the olympic bomber debaucle and that poor guy who died in jail on suspicion of kidnapping Elizabeth Smart. They both adopted a typical innocent person's demeanor - deer in the headlights. Guilty people often bluster, lead searches, demand that LE find the "real" killer, etc. Innocent people often just sit there looking stunned, unable to muster the energy to defend themselves.

I also have to point out, not knowing what "honey wax marijuana" is, but having experimented with reg'lar old marijuana, I could think an hour was about 10 minutes, and forget completely a meandering route I took in a car. Not that it's good to do that with a baby, obviously, just saying that this honey wax stuff seems like it could be responsible for his inability to remember where he was, and a clear accounting for time.
