DNA Solves

DNA Solves
I've been thinking about this, but haven't had time to find the link. I remember a detective stated when he was at the horse ranch, Chris drove up and exited a vehicle with a bag in his hand. The detective felt he was trying to hide/disappear evidence. I've wondered several times if that evidence was Erin's cell phone, keys or shoes. It doesn't make much sense to take items to another location, why not just throw them in the mine with her body. Guess there are some things Like you said, we'll probably never know.

Can someone explain the shoe issue? I keep seeing Erin's missing shoes brought up & just assumed they had fallen further down the shaft. Has that been ruled out?

I have to say I was really disappointed in the media coverage of the trial. I understand that San Bernadino Co isn't a huge media market, but for that reason exactly I thought a local crime reporter would have surely latched onto the trial and tweeted to oblivion. I really feel like we missed a lot of important detail. Erin's tragic story has all the hallmarks of a juicy media story - I mean she was on the cover of People for goodness sake! And hardly any tweeting [emoji20] Beth did a good job with wrap ups, but after Christina Morris' trial and Ross/Cooper Harris I guess we just got spoiled?

Praying for swift jury deliberation and justice for Erin!

Guys this is California and most high profile cases aren't televised here, so we are lucky that there were cameras here who have some footage. I am following another high profile case but in the bay area and here the judge isn't allowing cameras only social media.

That's kind of ironic for California since that all-time high profile OJ case was kind of the beginning of Court TV and televised cases. I was in grad school at the time and watched much of that trial. What a fiasco.

Richmond since then things have changed.

Kinda sucks doesn't it. Take your t-shirt, a piece of wood, spool of twine, cut the twine, wrap the twine around the shirt and the wood, tie it in a knot. Then forget to light it....

We've seen that kind of chaotic, irrational behavior in a lot of cases here. People are often in manic states when they commit violent crimes. They are amped up, often high on drugs and alcohol, and adrenaline and testosterone, and the mess things up, big time. He showed what an idiot he was from the start. Talking about where to dump bodies with co-workers. Inviting her out for a big surprise, not thinking she might tell a friend. Borrowing the propane tank...etc etc

Can someone point me to the page/document, or copy/paste, where CL states/admits he forgot to light the torch? I missed that. The shoes & keys are wierd, too...

The Serological Research Institute invoice was for work they did for this case on the 25th of July, 2016. Does that mean they didn't have the DNA matches until then?

Argh. There are still so many unanswered questions, but I'm glad this is moving quickly, especially for the sake of Erin and her loved ones. I believe there's a lot of lying in CL's confession just like his other statements, but I believe the main point, that he killed her. Also that it was premeditated. All MOO.

Assuming CL is convicted I am so curious to see what, if any, impact the upcoming election might have on this and other death penalty cases. I posted this a few days ago but it might have gotten buried in my lengthy post. In California there are two DP related propositions on the ballot next week. One of them eliminates the DP, including changing the sentences for those already on death row to LWOP (Prop 62). The second (Prop 66) keeps the DP, but tries to fix a broken system (in many peoples' minds) by expediting the followup process and thereby shortening the time from conviction to actually putting the person to death. Here's the basic info about all the propositions: http://voterguide.sos.ca.gov/en/propositions/ and Google brings up plenty more both for and against.

If he DOES get the DP, I wonder if it will end up changed to LWOP? Or if the vote goes the other way, will it become part of the expedited process? Of course if neither passes it'll be same ol' same ol' and he'll probably die in prison of old age. I still don't understand what happens if they both pass.

He gets my husband and my votes for the expedited Death Penalty. :jail:

I've tried to follow the coverage, and I've missed this - when did Chris go and get the garrote? If it was such a sudden, uncontrollable rage, how did it just magically come to be in his hand? Surely if Erin had just "confessed" (cough, bull@#*$), she would have been on high alert to his reaction and not just stood passively by when he went to the car to retrieve his weapon. The scenario makes utterly no sense to me. I won't be surprised if the jury comes back with a quick decision.
