1. Hunting /shooting accident- It may be counter intuitive but the reality is its actually really hard to hit a person even when your trying let alone by accident. It would be like 1 rain drop falling out of the sky at the park and it hit him. Almost zero probability.

2. Suicide- Almost zero probability.

3. Accident- shot himself- Almost zero probability.

4. Some nefarious organization assassinated him- the conspiracy theory. This can go to the bottom of the probability list for now as well.

5. Domestic origins- wife/ love triangle: Just looking in from the outside it just doesn't fit. The whole thing hit me funny at first too. Both DRs so why? It was started by a family member. So probably thinking to herself I cant help. What can I do? IMO that's plausible.

6. Escalation of a previous altercation: Getting a little warmer maybe. Although I think we'd have a suspect. So a guy getting drunk/being loud maybe profanities. T asks/tells them to shut up. Guy acts or waits/broods then acts later in the night

7. Thrill killer: this is probably where we are at. So important to know what the firearm was.

I agree with this. Also, with the progression of likelihood from 1 -7, except with hunting accident at # 3. (There was no gun found in the tent).

As to the , these were relatively young professionals, likely with a mountain of student loan debt (mine is the size of a mortgage) and who just dumped tons of money into relocating to a pricey area.

She now has to raise the kids with one income, not two. Half the family income is gone.

And dealing with the horror and tragedy of homicide, well she will not probably be working for awhile.

Put it this way: All their friends, family, colleagues - people who know much more about their possible finances than we could - contributed hard and fast and a lot. Why would they if they thought there was no need?

As to the possibility of an altercation with someone, or as to the possibility of a targeted killing, we don't know that they don't have suspects. They sure as heck wouldn't tell us.

Yes, exactly, the headline is clickbait.

First paragraph of their article states truth:

There is no evidence linking last Friday's fatal shooting of a father camping with his young daughters at Malibu Creek State Park with earlier shootings in the area, Sheriff's Homicide detectives said Friday – but a possible link has not been ruled out.

Yeah, headline are not facts. They're tags meant to draw in readers. I was hopeful people would read past it to the actual article!!!! (Even though I'm guilty of not doing so myself a lot!)

I agree in the sense that it does have the feel of a younger person. It's always early morning. I wonder who could be out and about at that time so often with a weapon and nobody paying attention to it in the close circle. Definitely someone knowing the area well and seems to be staying around that same corridor right around the camping area. I do think the intent is to kill though, it's not just foolish behavior leading to injury. It seems like it's more than that and escalating as mentioned.

On another note there is also the summer camps (Camp Gillmore) that are run right next to Tapia Park, just a little south western of David Gonzalez Camp School. Looks like this summer camp has a street leading right into Tapia Park. I would estimate from the map maybe 800 feet to Tapia Park entrance. Walkable.... One of the activities shown on their homepage is Air Rifle. The Salvation Army Camp Mt. Crags and Camp Gilmore | CAMP ACTIVITIES

If it is a staff member at the camp facility they may have a place to hide a gun(s) & ammunition somewhere between the camp and MCSP (ie, in a box/locker that's hidden in a large hole covered by something, or elsewhere). They may go out for a "run" early in the morning, pick up the gun, & go "hunting". They then return the gun to it's hiding place, & run home for breakfast. I would think breakfast at the camp facility would be served at a scheduled time only, so they would have to be back before then.

Maybe someone planning to eventually do something bigger, and practicing/building their skills.
The white vehicle and Meliss' vehicle were both parked I believe (Meliss' was for sure). The Tesla was moving if I am understanding Cece Woods correctly (or perhaps it was stopped when hit?)

"Nishida did not provide details about the other incidents. But Malibu community activist Cece Woods said she is aware of one incident just days before Beaudette was killed in which someone fired a shot at a Tesla being driven along Malibu Canyon Road. She said the bullet hit the car but no one was injured."

There were five shootings at and near a Malibu park over two years. Why didn't authorities alert the public until father was killed?

No wait, I'm wrong. The gun would have to be hidden in MCSP, otherwise the shooter would be seen running or walking into the park with a gun or a bag with a gun.

FATAL SHOOTING NOT LINKED TO OTHER MALIBU PARK CRIMES.

Bolded for clarity. Hope we can move forward with this in mind. They must know something major if they're so sure it's not linked.
They haven't said they're sure it's not linked. From that link...

It's interesting how it is June/July two years in a row. The three incidents before that could have been from a prolonged winter stay of some sort. If all connected then maybe somebody was in the area from November 2016 til January 2017 and then again in June/July each year?

I'm not sure how plausible this is, but I've been grasping at straws trying to find an explanation. Is it possible that someone (I'm not quite ready to rule out females yet) started college in the spring session of 2017, which began toward the beginning of January, I believe. He/she could have been nervous about it and started shooting things to work off stress. It may have started with harmless things like shooting cans, trees, etc. until accidentally hitting the first guy. This may have been done a few times, or even many time, until school started. During breaks after that, it could be used once again to relieve the stress from the school year.

As for the time of day, it could be someone who worked (and/or has a summer job) with an early start, or it could be someone who goes out partying at night and does the shooting after getting home. It's possible that the shooter/s consider 2-6 am to be late night rather than early morning. MOO

What do you propose.

We mentioned before that LE should invest in a whole bunch of Hunting Trail Cams and set them up all over the place. That way if any other shootings occur then at least they should get some photos of vehicles moving in and out of the area as well as people moving about.

Those cameras are getting really good these days and have night capability and motion detection. Price has come way down.

Would also install some real video security cameras at all entrances and exits so that anyone coming in and out by vehicle is captured. Aimed at license plate area and to be sure to get good video of type of vehicle.

Would need a lot of cams but would be worth it.

I think (speculating) LE is currently working on to eliminate family members as possible suspects. Like it or not, that's what they do in the beginning part of their investigation, when a person is gunned down mysteriously.

That seems like a good thing to investigate. Proximity, opportunity, and possibly some kind of motive connected with the area.
