Thank you. Really feel it's a shame we can not access cell phone records, texts. If the family won't talk (I actually think they have the wool pulled over their eyes/ turning blind eye so don't have much observation to give up) the phone could have. Oh man. I have so many other questions... that I feel could help get us somewhere, but based on what we know about the family so far it's seems it's will be more of a nuisance than help.

I also know we have mentioned she has friends... but something feels odd. I can't put my finger on it. Neither here nor there I suppose.

Unfortunately, while I may be able to get some specific questions answered, I think right now it is going to be the PI that gets the most answers, and I'm not even sure about that :(
So you got the PI retained now or not officially as of yet??

A chill ran down my spine when I saw the name Elisa Lam. Haven't thought about that video in a long time.

I know... I'm so sorry. Sounds like pulling teeth. Hope he puts his psychology hat on. Understanding her mind set, her activities, what websites she looked at, who she actually was close too, how she made sense of the world as she did as a complex and nuanced person and not a one dimensional girl, but woman could help to unravel so much.

Officially, no. Unofficially, yes. Although I have no idea how to raise the funds to get him down here :(

But....in that case, wouldn't you think the police would tell the family to stop talking to media? Or actually contact me and tell me to shut up? Release some kind of statement or something? Or would they just continue letting everyone speculate and be enraged?
I think they dropped the ball and with the IA complaint and previous record she's low or no priority. They didn't even get the contact info from the duck taped, naked, and drugged women dumped the next day in the same neighborhood who's gone missing again. I think once they looked into it after the media attention they have their suspicions of what mightve happened while also trying to divert attention away from them and the case. Could be completely off and they have a joint task force working to put a collar on a suspect as I type. Who knows. I'm thinking their also concerend if a citizen releases their suspects info to the public it would spook him or her. I'm just going off the post where you stated the detective warned the father that the media attention could cause her harm.

I'm sure y'all remember this article

http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/01/...mans-disappearance-was-organized-family-says/

It was different than the rest of the new articles because the in the heading it said "Woman's Disappearance was Organized Family Says". The article quotes her brother saying
"It appears to be organized. These types of things don’t happen by mistake,” he said of Maricela’s disappearance."

From the beginning its like the family knew it was an organized crime.

Some examples of organized crime is Mafia, drug cartel, human trafficking, gangs

I work with a non profit organization and we've done 'online auctions' before. Works in situations where you have people all over the place, people donate items, you let people bid, then everything is shipped out at the end. Normally the people donating will be willing to pay shipping as well - situations where they can't, costs can be covered from auction proceeds. Overall still turns a profit.

Someone suggested Ashlee (however you spell it) Banfield from HLN might be able to help or I think it was KCI? radio in LA. I will look into those when I have some time.

How much is needed to retain the PI?

I guess I can try to contact Postmate's corporate office tomorrow. Or anyone else want to?

Here's some Postmates information. In the Employee Reviews the employee describes their job. So, there are a lot of descriptions that refer to the same job: courier, delivery driver, courier driver, driver, etc. Reviews range from best job ever to worst job ever. I believe you would need a dedicated business phone if you were a regular courier.

Postmates launches same-day delivery service in West L.A. today, following similar announcements by Google, Amazon and Instacart in the past month. More neighborhoods will be added in the coming weeks.

For as little as $5 (plus a 9 percent service fee), customers can use the Postmates mobile app 24/7 to get within-the-hour delivery of late-night munchies, electronics, drycleaning and prescriptions, supplied by citizen couriers with vehicles and extra time on their hands.

Didn't Sarah say they went to a Thai restaurant for both deliveries?

I use postmates (order on it) and it updates me in real time on the status of my driver... I believe you would need a smart phone of some sort to be employed. Often I get a push notification saying when the individual is several minutes away and generally the delivery person then calls. How would she do this job without a dedicated smart phone compatible with their app?

I am a dinosaur & don't enjoy driving so didn't comment before. I thought it odd one would drive from Tarzana to Venice (gas/time) to make 2 (food) deliveries, then drive back to the Valley. Couldn't quite wrap my mind around someone making enough money to do this as a job. But, maybe on other days she worked hous on end.

I don't think you're a dinosaur. It wouldn't make sense to accept the delivery jobs in Venice unless MG already was in or near Venice and had some time on her hands.

Yes. It is a long drive with lots of afternoon traffic. How could she even make a profit doing only 2 deliveries but driving 45 minutes each way?

Maybe that was what her 2nd phone was for. My friend drives for Uber, and he uses a 2nd phone just for those calls.
