Dianne Whitmire added, "Marysa was a social butterfly and she would absolutely love this very thing right now its amazing. She was just a ray of hope a ray of light and I think people should really just remember that."

Marysa's stepfather, Curtis Whitmire said they want people to celebrate Marysa's life.

"She was a happy little girl," said Curtis Whitmire. "She loved hugs and for all the parents out there hug your babies treasure them, life is too short."

A timeline I discovered on this news site.

I found this interesting

Investigators contacted a PG&E employee who was working in the area around 11 a.m. on the day Marysa Nichols went missing and told police he believed he saw a male wearing red cut off sweats and white socks with a red goatee and a shaved or bald head. Laine was then asked to point out the subject out in a lineup and did not point out Quentin Bealer.

Video of the perp in the court room. No lawyer for him now as the last one had a conflict of interest with a witness and no one would take the case so far due to the same reason. In court the killer told the court that he doesn't know why he is being charged with murder. He says all he did was walk near a girl on some video. I guess he forgot the part where he confessed.

do we know he confessed though? Will have to go back and look at the previous articles. Mike Hency's statements lead one to believe he confessed. But I am not sure Bealer actually confessed to LE about Marysa. He turned himself in when the video came out and LE were asking for the person to come in and be questioned or be identified by the public.

This looks like Bealer confessed to being the person in the video to Hence. http://www.krcrtv.com/news/local/Me...l-7/-/14322302/19179232/-/w6si48/-/index.html

After surveillance footage was released, both roommates immediately began searching for Bealer around town. When they found Bealer wandering around the high school, Hency confronted him about the surveillance video, but Bealer denied it was him.

After Hency confronted him about the clothing he was wearing in the surveillance video, he finally confessed.

this tweet says he confessed. https://twitter.com/ChristinaRafae1/status/308075262162132992

but the article referenced in the tweet only says he turned himself in as the person in the video

A suspect in the killing of a Red Bluff teenager turned himself into police Saturday and was placed under arrest.

The suspect is Quentin Ray Bealer, 39, of Red Bluff, who is being held in the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of homicide, Red Bluff Police Chief Paul Nanfito announced at a Saturday evening news conference at police headquarters. Earlier Saturday, Bealer was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, Nanfito said.

Suspicion of homicide suggests there was no confession but rather that he is suspected of being the killer.

Also, the link above with all the detail regarding how the body was concealed discusses one of the friends who convinced him to turn himself in and how that gentleman was charged the other day.

According to the court documents, Bealer told police he stayed at the Second Street residence of a friend, identified as Edouard Eugene Ouellette, from Feb. 26 to March 1.

A registered sex offender, Ouellette, 38, was arrested Monday on perjury and bigamy charges not related to Marysa's slaying.

Tehama County District Attorney Gregg Cohen said Tuesday Ouellette had warrants out for his arrest on those charges, but would not say if he was a suspect in the murder case.

Ouellette, who is no longer in jail, was one of two men who reportedly convinced Bealer to turn himself in to police.

As simple as this seems, could Marysa have been robbed for what was thought to be a smart phone? It doesn't seem that she was sexually assaulted based on her pants being buttoned. I know that it is possible that she could have still been sexually assaulted even with this detail. With Ouellette being involved in Bealer going to police and supplying detailed info to the investigators about where Bealer was when he went out looking for him, it seems a sexual motive should still be explored. The case against Tehama County resident Quentin Ray Bealer, 39, will continue today after six Tehama County Public Defenders declared conflicts on Tuesday at the Tehama County Superior Court, delaying entry of plea.

Bealer is charged with murder in the death of 14- year-old Marysa Nichols, whose body was found between Red Bluff Union High School and Baker Road Feb. 28.

Bealer was in court at 8 a.m. Tuesday where Ken Miller, who was assigned at the March 6 arraignment, declared a conflict.

Ron McIvor was next up to be assigned a case, but declared a conflict due to a potential issue with a witness.

Christopher Logan declared a conflict on behalf of Diane Martin-Logan who was next in line to receive a public defender case, citing the same conflict as McIvor.

As Tehama County Superior Court Judge John Garaventa explained the proceedings and that the court would return at 1 p.m. to continue its search for an attorney to serve as defense, he asked Bealer if he understood.

Not really, Bealer said. I don't understand why I'm being charged with murder when there is just a photo with a kid walking behind me.

I just saw this article this morning. Because of where I live I've heard a billion other things in conjunction to this crime, but when I saw the videos of QB's roommates I really honestly think they have something to do with it.

I also don't believe it was just a robbery. I think local LE is hiding details for a reason. Just a theory but I've heard some pretty wild speculations around these parts. All I know is the community of Red Bluff is really behind the family.

Okay, I'm just going to come out and say it.

Did anyone else notice a physical resemblance between Ouellette and Bealer as far as general build, shaved head or very very short close cropped hair, goatee style facial hair, etc?

Yes, people did notice and that's why Ouellette's name came up here earlier in the thread, also that he is a RSO in the area. However, Bealer concedes that it's HIM in the image with Marysa close by. This case is going to be pretty contentious based on Bealer's association with EO. JMO

uh huh. I was thinking more about the convenience store employee not picking Bealer out of the line up as the person who was in the store that afternoon around 4pm.

39-year-old Quentin Bealer was in court for the third time in two days this morning. At his side today was attorney Shon Northam.

He has experience practicing child custody law in Tehama County and has worked as a defense attorney. But he also used to work for district attorney Gregg Cohen, the man prosecuting the murder charge against Bealer.

I agree. Bealer's goatee is pretty intense and thick almost like dreds. That feature would ID him IMO. He looks like a biker IMO.

I would imagine Bealer was on video at the convenience store. If they have a clear picture it won't matter about eye witness information.

Well as weird as it sounds, I'm glad someone stepped up to defend this guy. Mostly because I believe in the right to a fair trial. I do not think this guy acted alone and honestly I agree with the post a little further up pointing out the similarity in looks between QB and his room mate. I just want justice for this little girl.

Also LE posing it as a simple robbery? Why would you need to strangle and murder a little 14 year old girl just to steal her iPod? Most little girls would just hand it over and run like heck and from all accounts Marysa was not a fighter by any means. This whole theory stinks...

I agree. I want Bealer well represented. I am not sure what to think about the robbery as motive thing. It just doesn't feel right as you say, murder a slightly built, teenage girl for an i-Pod??

I still think there is a lot more to this story and like you, I am not confident that Bealer acted alone.

It sounds like the guy from PG&E thought the same thing (and I also agree):

An investigator contacted a Pacific Gas & Electric Co. worker who was working in the area around the time of the alleged crime.

The worker told the investigator he saw a man wearing red cut-off sweats, white socks, with a red goatee and either a shaved or bald head. He said the man had large, colorful tattoos on his lower legs.

When shown a photographic lineup of possible matches, the worker identified someone other than Bealer.

The person identified is a registered sex offender in the area.

Godspeed, Marysa.

Marysa was found with a hair in her mouth. If it's not hers then it's the killers. One of the comments below the article was from a women who said Bealer tried to abduct her neice a few days before the murder. A police report was made at the time.

Wow, this is a must read article. Lots of details, maybe too much for some? A teacher said QB and MN had a brief conversation, students saw her following a few feet behind him. She was found without a top on.
