DH' father, MH, said his daughter called him around 9:30 a.m. to say she'd been dropped off at her mother's Huntington Beach house. No one was home so she told him she walked the 12 blocks to his home near the beach.

"She wasn't crying at all. She just said, 'Daddy, I'm OK.'"

...

[Someone] heard DH pounding loudly on her father's door in their apartment complex. Then they saw her borrow a cellphone from a neighbor.

"When she was talking, it was panicky. It was loud and panicky," said of the call.

Did the kidnappers ask for any money? No mention of any demands. Why didn't the boyfriend describe the kidnappers since he saw it happening. The police never mentioned anything about a description to the public or media. It seems to me they would have offered a description of kidnappers to help find her.

I'm not buying this bogus kidnapping. JMO

So she was dropped off at her mother's house that was empty but didn't call anybody when she was there( did she gain entry? ) (otherwise they would have recognized, the number )..then walked to the building where her father lived..all the time she never contacted police..sorry that is not normal behavior for a grown woman...

Just a thought...the "ransom" may have been something he owed the kidnappers. Waiting so long to report the kidnapping indicates to me that he was possibly trying to resolve this on his own and pay what he owed. Either he paid up and they didn't return DH, or he couldn't meet the ransom. So he finally reported it. I can't think of any other reason for the long delay...if there really was a kidnapping. JMO

I would've thought "no way" to this theory until now. Although I think there's probably something else going on.

This is a bizarre case. And it reeks of inconsistencies and b.s. all around. At this point, with her being interviewed by the police, they'll get to the bottom of this whole pile of shenanigans and make the appropriate arrests. I just hope we get to hear about it. IMO. (P.S. Huntington Beach is not cheap to live in.)

Huntington has a high population of poor people on meth, heroin addicts, etc. Tons of poor people live there. Every time I go I see a large number of "rough" looking white people walking or biking around the streets, some clearly prostitutes. But I'm not takin about the touristy downtown area.

Yeah. It's fishy. But if they really felt it was a kidnapping for ransom I do not believe the police would describe the kidnappers to the public. They'd be cautious and try to keep her alive.

OK I'm feeling bold tonight. I'm so very glad Ms DH is safe and well.

There are some stories that make me go hmmmm. I'm withholding until I hear more. There was another, huge, story I followed here that I still have a slightly hinky feeling about, and I'm getting the same vibe.

I'm giving this story the side eye. Weird weird weird! The boyfriend is involved somehow, otherwise he would have reported this ASAP.

I don't think a random person from HB drove all the way up north to Vallejo CA to kidnap her from her boyfriends house.

Why didn't the kidnappers tie the boyfriend up or take him as well since he saw them? Wouldn't he have tried to fight them off? he was her boyfriend after all .

She didn't sound scared or upset in her audio call. Just a little tired. Strange case. I think the kidnappers were very young and inexperienced. At least they were nice enough to drop her off in HB.

Evidence Does Not Show California Woman Was Kidnapped

“The Vallejo Police Department would like to ensure the public that this was no random act of violence,” the statement said. “There is no evidence to support the claims that this was a stranger abduction or an abduction at all. Given the facts that have presented thus far, this event appears to be an orchestrated event and not a kidnapping.”

I wonder what her motive was? What's the backstory?

I thought she was in on it from the beginning but didn't want to say anything. JMO. The overtime involved in the case of Sahray Barber will cost that city around $20,000. I hope this isn't a copy cat of the worst kind.

Maybe I'm too jaded but this was an obvious hoax from the start.
Now she's refusing to meet with the police, they can't find her and she's lawyered up.

I'm so mad about this. All those resources. DH has retained an attorney and her and her family have 'lost contact' with police and the FBI. She had originally agreed to get on a plane back to NorCal to talk to Vallejo PD and the FBI, but didn't show.

Her entire future is in jeopardy right now. What would drive someone to this extreme? What is worth the risk of losing your entire career? I don't even know what happened with Sahray or if anything has been said. As soon as I saw she was in hiding, I didn't check back. Lots of resources down the tubes.

From the link...

Vallejo police issued a statement saying the abduction of DH appeared to be an "orchestrated event."

DH, 29, was reportedly abducted Monday morning from a Vallejo, California, home, police said. She was reported to be kidnapped by her boyfriend but was found safe Wednesday morning in Huntington Beach, her family and police told NBC4.

DH and her family had made plans to speak with authorities but have since disappeared, Vallejo police said in a press release.

Police at live presser said DH and Quinn 'plundered' the community of so many resources and instilled fear in the community and should apologise. Still actively investigating and will press charges if they can.

The ransom amount was $8,500. I missed if it was paid or not. Quinn and DH are not co-operating and police haven't been able to speak to DH father since 11am.
