CA also has the qualifier than murder resulting from child abuse is punishable by LWOP.

Nice to see CA has torture laws. Broken bones, burns, and very low weights should be considered torture, not just 'abuse'.

I think we will find that the 17 yo didn't have a great childhood. His eyes don't express anything.

Why is this even possible? I don't understand why DHS isn't nationwide with all counties having access to each abused child's background.

have teh bodies from the storage been confirmed as those of Delylah and Shaun? Because as it stands we have two unidentified bodies, two missing children of same ages, one tortured 9 year old still living and two adults in custody. That is one heck of a situation to try to whittle into one tread.

Give me until later this evening to figure out how best to merge and title one big thread. Can't work on it right now.

Whenever you have time. You are appreciated. :grouphug:

I'm off to the corner to cry & then reapply my war paint (makeup) so my youngest (hopefully) won't know I was just in :tears:

This. Just. Is. NOT. Right!

Praying for the unnamed 9 yr old

I found him when I looked at Vivian saucedo's page. seeing him I thought that it is likely these murdering sickos will get prison justice.

The father of the children is Huntsman's first cousin.

The Tara children appear to be the children of Shaun Daniel Tara, 31, whose Facebook page includes photographs of them. Tara is currently listed as being held in the Riverside County Jail on charges that include felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a dirk or dagger and probation violations.

He is listed as having been arrested Nov. 23, although jail logs indicate he has previously spent time in prison.

Thanks to both of you. And hugs for all the bad stuff you mods have to deal with.

:gathering: here with you all to fighting for :justice: for Delylah, Shaun, and for their siblings whose names we don't know.

It doesn't matter right now. What matters is that their silent, horrific suffering is over. The world knows the truth, and we won't stop until those who hurt them are fully held accountable.

It shouldn't hurt to gain your  wings, especially as a child...

Salinas is the "seat" of nuestra familia, which was the former head of northern prison gangs. that place has been taken by northern structure out of san jose, but Salinas remains a hotbed of gang activity and is very dangerous.

Here's a map of gangs in Salinas. The family lives on Fremont Street which is smack dab in the middle of the Fremont Street Gang. There are about 3,000 gang members in Salinas. Most people living there will probably never see them but not when your street is full of them. I think the Fremont Street gang may be part of the local Norteno street gang.

Salinas, a city of 150,000, has long battled gang violence and frequently has one of the state’s highest gang-related homicide rates. Just 30 miles north of two major prisons, the main rivalry in town is between the Nortenos and Surenos, gangs that once were largely confined to Northern and Southern California, respectively, but now are doing battle in much of the state.

Huntsman, Curiel will be charged with first-degee murder

Flippo announced that he will file first-degree murder charges against 17-year-old Curiel and 39-year-old Huntsman.

Curiel, who neighbors described as Huntsman's boyfriend, will be tried as an adult. The couple is also being charged with torture, child abuse, and mayhem.

I think it was sloppy reporting. I think they meant TH's kids last saw them on thanksgiving.

This article says that the children were last seen by their older siblings on Thanksgiving. I wonder if that is true. Since little Frankie was only 40 lbs when she was found, wouldn't it have been obvious that something was wrong when they last saw her? Or could a child loose that much weight in three weeks?

I've seen in several MSM articles that the children were not killed near the storage unit. How can that be determined, especially so quickly?

Shasta County District Attorney Stephen Carlton told the Redding Record Searchlight that evidence found during the autopsy showed "clearly" the children were killed in Monterey County. The homicide investigation will now be transferred there.

Police: Children in storage unit died of 'ongoing physical abuse'

The pair will also be charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances, which includes murders committed during torture. Those charges could lead to life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty, according to Monterey County District Attorney Dean

Each remained jailed Tuesday on $1 million bail.

Prosecutors said they will decide later whether to seek the death penalty.

I assume they can tell by decomposition. Dead when placed in storage unit. But this article is confusing, because it sounds like the abuse continued after they left Salinas, and they died later.

Wednesday, December 16: The Shasta County Coroner conducted an autopsy on two deceased children. Autopsy results determined that the cause of death of the two children was a result of ongoing physical abuse. The abuse likely started in Salinas and continued elsewhere.

So the abuse could have continued after they reached Quincy or when they stayed in Dunnigan. But another article says that neighbors asked where the children were when TH and GC left after Thanksgiving for a vacation and loaded storage boxes into the car. That makes it sound like they were already dead in Salinas, which is why Monterey county in prosecuting.

ETA: Of course, the children could have been barely alive in the plastic boxes, which would mean that the abuse continued "elsewhere." I guess not knowing for sure when and where they died would make Monterey country the logical one to prosecute.

Sloppy reporting, as usual. I'm sure the reporters are in shock, which may explain the inconsistencies.

I know that's a rhetorical question I've bolded. I'm not sure any of us can handle knowing how long this was going on and what they did to them. What we know now is bad enough!! I can't wrap my mind around this at all. All I can think of is METH, METH and MORE METH.

So according to the photos, they are excavating in the Salinas yard. The article says they are looking into the possibility that a fourth child has been abused. Is that child missing? Do they think the child is buried in the back yard? Can this get any worse? Probably. Even her own mother calls her a monster!

Monterey County prosecutors also said they’re looking into the possibility that the pair, who recently left Salinas for the mountains of Northern California, abused a fourth child in their care.
