But maybe they didn't let her go. It was one woman, apparently, that released her. A lot of women who were trafficked as teens, end up staying in the business as 'assistants' to their captors. I do think it is possible that one of the women felt sympathy for SP and her children.

If so, she is in a lot of trouble now, if she is even alive and well....

Maybe one woman actually did release her. It just seems so very unlikely to me.

Last week I dropped my daughter off at her nice, supposedly safe upscale apartment. It is pretty expensive and in a very ‘safe’ area because she is 23 and very attractive and I always worry about her safety. She attracts a lot of unwanted attention.

I am glad she lives with her boyfriend and I think it may have been a good thing after what just happened.

I was dropping her off and then streaming in right behind us were 3 police cars, pulling right up to the locked door she was about to enter into the building. She stopped for a second and one of the officers asked her her apt number, she told them and he told her to go ahead but to go right to her apt and stay inside.

She called me later and said that her neighbor saw another tenant being handcuffed and escorted to a squad car. He was a 30 yr old guy, who she knew from walking her dog in the apt. doggie yard. She said he seemed like an OK guy but he was kind of flirty so she kept her distance.

She assumed he was selling or dealing drugs.

HOWEVER, just now found out what happened___
OKAY—get ready——want to know what he was arrested for????

The man, identified as Lawrence Gunn Jr., 32, was arrested without incident Nov. 29, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant John Sawyer.

20 victims, many juveniles, recovered after 10-month-long investigation


The investigation into Gunn’s illegal activities began in February when authorities traced a 16-year-old victim to a Moreno Valley motel, where Gunn was forcing her to work as a prostitute. The young girl’s family had reported her as missing.

In addition to the 16-year-old girl, officials discovered five more victims who were being forced to work for Gunn as prostitutes in Moreno Valley. Officials determined three of the recovered victims in the Moreno Valley motel were minors.

Many of Gunn’s victims “branded” with his moniker

Gunn, who goes by the street name, “Classified,” allegedly branded many of his prostitutes, including the 16-year-old girl with tattoos of his moniker. Many had his moniker tattooed over their right eyes or on their upper bodies. Gunn did this to permanently mark the sex workers he forced into prostitution.

According to officials, this type of tattooing, commonly referred to as “branding,” is commonly used by sex traffickers to not only dehumanize their victims, but to also permanently mark them as the personal property of the human trafficker.

Thanks for helping us here with as much as you've been able to. We really do appreciate all your help.

Regardless of how and who kidnapped her we are thrilled too that she is home safe and with her children and husband. The children must have experienced quite the trauma themselves with not having their mom around for all the days she was missing.

According to SPs Missing Person flyer, she stood at 5'4" and weighed a hundred pounds.

According to the weight table for women, SP should have weighed 110 or more.

When she was Taken, SP weighed 10 pounds less than many women her same height. SP lost down to 87 pounds. That is a weight difference of 23 pounds.

Correct, but she didn't lose 23 lbs. She lost 13 lbs. She was already very thin before she was abducted.

We know she had burns, but they may have only been first degree burns or already healing, non-infected second degree burns. So they would not require her to be kept in hospital.

I was treated and released from er after a car accident (with a fatality) I had concussion bruises etc but I had chemical and friction burns on both wrists so badly burned that I lost not just skin but flesh as well. They sent me home with a silver based burn cream and told me to follow up with my dr.

How terrifying! There was a middle-aged man arrested at his parent's home a couple miles from me that was involved in trafficking (smaller operation, only 4 were arrested). But many of them do reside among us. So thankful your daughter was not targeted by this perp. A very scary wake up call, but I hope she now has her boyfriend accompany on her walks with the dog.

I don't think I've heard the answer to this. Lake16 may know.

Just three or four days without liquids is enough to kill most people. If SP were severely dehydrated, she would have been admitted to the hospital for treatment, most likely to the intensive care unit because of kidney failure, rather than treated and released.

If you remember a couple years back, when the DEA "forgot" about Daniel Cheong in a holding cell for close to five days. He was close to death when they realize their "error." He spent a few days in the intensive care unit with kidney failure. This story, by the way, still irks me.

I continue to believe that CG was simply trying to help gain SP's release (which in turn would also help his business). I also do not believe a ransom was paid. I continue to believe the extra news cycles his involvement brought assisted in keeping SP's face out there in public view which was beneficial.

With all due respect, if no ransom was actually paid and since no one knows the real reason SP was released, how does anyone know it had anything to do with CG's involvement? He certainly seems to be taking credit for it, but LE doesn't appear to agree with him.

Because he brought more publicity to the case, putting her face out there. He also may have scared the abductors/abductor into releasing her, before someone else turned them in.

OMG. I would consider having her move to a new apartment complex ASAP. The reason being is this perp could have others staying at his apartment and anybody he knows is probably bad news.

Was the 16 year old girl that was reported missing was she a runaway first and already reported missing before the perp snatched her?
Or was she randomly abducted from her house?

Sherri may know why she was released. IMO one of the women may have released her due to some degree of sympathy along with the publicity surrounding the case. JMO
