I have a better understanding now of why they referred to it as
replenishing the account.

But, if you've promised to pay a $10,000 reward for tips, I'd hate to know it wasn't all there because of office supplies and such, if the hoped for need arises.

I'm absolutely certain that they keep a minimum balance of $10K to cover the reward.

Kind of like having a checking account that is free of monthly fees if you constantly maintain a minimum balance of $100; you never count that minimum balance as money to spend.

In in some states, in theory reward money goes into an escrow fund until either awarded or the reward is withdrawn. In practice, no one bothers the owner of the missing cat who offers a $50 reward but if the case is big enough for LE to be involved in, then everything is done by the book. Same if a bank is involved in the collection of funds.

I'm just trying to get your opinion of how these fundraisers work.

Not yet, too early.

The tips are rolling in at a good pace and media attention is still high.

If the tips stall out or when media attention dries up, then they will raise the amount of the reward.

Raising the amount of the reward is usually just about guaranteed to get some renewed media attention (unless some congresscritter happens to do something stupid that day). No point in tying up more money that way when the media is still hot on the story.

Sadly, this has gone on long enough that Sierra's parents need to be thinking strategically for the long term. I'm sure they are getting advice from LE to help guide them.

You can navigate to history, put in the date and I do believe get an hour by hour weather, temp, precip, etc.

I had major tweet confusion until I realised that they seem to be listed by whatever time zone you are in. Since I'm in Australia they don't even come up as the same date most of the time.

He also claimed that it occurred on a Wednesday which would be the 14th and that it was at 6:30am and I thought Sierra left after 7am or thereabouts and that he saw a white car
