I agree. I also wonder what, exactly, leads LE to believe she is dead? I mean, unless they found something like Sierra's hair with the 'deathband' on it, without a body or a confession, how would they know for certain this is a murder?

How about a cadaver dog hitting on his car and sierras dna in it.
I think LE believed she was dead all along! Her mom used past tense alot and i think they knew....

The articles say he was arrested at Safeway, where he works.

and the Sheriff corrected that that info was wrong.

yep and in the raw video the Sheriff corrected that he didn't work there.
