Any information yet on how long they think the torso has been there or estimated date of death based on decomp, etc?
Autopsy results?

"The torso was discovered in a bin located in an outdoor alcove at 250 Frederick St. Saturday morning.

The number of missing-person reports to be looked at was unclear Monday.

“The number fluctuates and it can be by the hour, literally by the hour,” said Insp. Kevin Thaler.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday in Hamilton. Details on the findings were not released.

DNA of the victim could be of use to police, but only if a record of the victim’s DNA exists in a database to determine a match, Heinzel explained.

“There are some challenges in this investigation that we don’t typically have in a homicide, so what we’re relying on is what the public can tell us and what science can tell us,” Thaler said.

As of Monday, the torso was the only body part recovered.

A T-shirt found on the victim adorned with the words, “Forget Princess I want to be a Vampire,” is one of the few clues police possess to share with the public.

“We’re hoping that tips from the public will be instrumental in resolving this … because they may recognize someone they haven’t had contact with and perhaps the last time they saw them that’s what they were wearing,” Thaler explained.

Details of how common the T-shirt is or where it is sold have not been released, Thaler added.

Vampire-themed apparel has become popular in the last four to five years, according to Sarah Segal, public relations specialist for CafePress Inc. Books and movies like the Twilight series have spurred the trend.

CafePress, an online company selling artist-designed apparel and accessories, features more than 1.6 million vampire-themed items available for sale worldwide, Segal said in an email. A small number of those items are T-shirts with the same slogan found with the victim.

Police are asking anyone who finds suspicious items on or near their property to call (519) 653-7700.

Anyone with information regarding the victim or who witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Frederick Street and Gordon Avenue are asked to contact the Kitchener Homicide Branch at (519) 650-8500, ext. 8666, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS."

Looks like they have ruled out the 2 girls we have been talking about here,

One girls mother created a website that I hadn't seen before, Music 4 Missing
http://www.music4themissing.ca/#!our-loved-ones

Thank God. Ashley Downs's mother is right though, concerning the laws about minor children being allowed to leave home whenever they want. They don't understand at that age what dangers await them. Ashley is only 15yrs old, and nobody knows her whereabouts. I hope she's safe, and I hope the family of whomever they found in that dumpster will be brought some peace and closure soon.

Sorry but...just wondering

the garbage pick up was the day before the torso was found right ??? maybe the sob put the rest in the dumpster prior or a different area dumpster for that matter??? meaning the missing parts are maybe already in the landfill ???

Eeek, I hope LE has considered this possibility too!

Good question!

RIP Kelsey and my condolences to her friends and family. I hope the police have what they need for an arrest in this case.

It sounds like the police got what they needed to identify from tips from the public. She is from Kitchener. I'm looking for a facebook but I'm not sure if the one I found is her.

I'm finding Kelsey Felker's in Michigan, New York and British Columbia, but nobody in Kitchener. None of them look like they are into Twilight either.

There is a creepy twitter page under the name, with 2 creepy pictures of a female in undress uploaded. Cannot determine if it is hers though.

No information given whether she had been missing or left work or anything? Seems strange, just that she has been identified. I guess maybe they are yet to do a big press release.

Someone posted on that twitter on Jan 27th which is after her body was found. Also, they posted "call me it's Jim". The tweet on the 27th says something about a blackberry being blocked. I think someone stole her Blackberry and tried to access some of her stuff. All sorts of blackberry stuff ???? ALso a post about Jericka Petten who is is diseased. Just her name. Her (Jericka's) friends are from Kitchener so I think this Twitter is Kelsey's. Weirdness.

Hi matou, I have noticed twitter accounts having weird entries after date of death many times now. I dunno how they get there, can anybody advise?

It is very weird. It almost feels like that account was set up to warn someone, and almost an insurance policy for herself. Did you find out how the name mentioned became deceased?
Is the girl pictured Kelsey or the other girl that is named? :so confused:
