RCMP have stated as a fact that Kam and Bryer are the only suspects in the murders of the tourists. The only way that is possible when RCMP believe that the suspects were at the murder scene on July 15.

I understand what you are saying, however...
As they have only ever been suspects, it is still possible they are not the culprits. Until(or if) we receive further information from RCMP stating that they have committed all 3 murders, saying they were 100% definitively in the area is not possible.

AS maybe in some mourning for his son but why is he giving interviews to the media again? I thought the note on a window had said no media and that media had become a nuisance? It's too late to make things right now, it's over his son is dead leave it at that IMO.
Also AS is a man of many faces, in early interviews he looks like he has blondish hair then he is so grey and rough looking in others. Where are these pictures of him coming from? In his latest interview he's all cleaned up and his hair is not so grey. In the 1 Twitter pic I've pointed out a weird anomaly towards the back hair, there's seems to be some black hair there, weird. JMO

The 60 Minutes video is prefaced by the reporter stating that they have been shadowing AS throughout this manhunt-- including the date the bodies of the teens recovered.

I also believe they've been taping this episode over several weeks, which likely accounts for change in AS appearance. MOO

1. $100 Cologne is what we pay in Canada for decent cologne instead of knock-offs, I have to say when my son was that age, I actually went with him and taught him the difference between buying decent cologne - simply because he would be dating (and I'm anal about getting good stuff because the cheap stuff doesn't work, last etc) . I actually thought it was kind of his dad to be bringing him something like that.
2. Looks like airsofts are the 'topic' this morning - what I'm surprised about is that no here has noticed or picked up on the vid clip of Bryer with the airsoft, being filmed at Kam McLeod's home property.
3. I said it the first interview and will say again, IMHO it's rare a parent of a murder suspect will speak frankly and genuinely with media. It gives great insight into how a parent of a 'most hated son' in Canada is trying to understand something so un-understable. I don't feel anger at this father who was denied access to his only child for 8 years, trying to build a relationship with his son already a teen the past 2 years as best as he could on a once every 2 week likely brief visit. While the mom who fought for sole custody seemed somewhere along the way to drop the ball on raising him. In his personally family life it's like Bryer was a "castaway" through no fault of his own. I do find it increasingly curious on why the Mcleod parents are so intent on keeping everything quiet - they issue 1 statement, but I have not seen one word from them at leasting offering an apology to the deceased victim families. This is where I give AS more respect, in that he shows tearful sorry apology for the families - and is 'homeless' - while McLeods are silent in there home at Sproat Lake. It gives the impression 1. If the Mcleods stay silent - it makes their boy look good and Bryer a tossed around boy look like the bad guy. 2. It also exposes them down the road to disdain from the public when the real truths will start coming out.
"Bryer may have had some family and internal issues - but the Mcleod family gave Bryer a venue to create illusion or disillusion.
I think the Mcleods might have a similar mindset to what AS said in his interview--that he can't truly accept his son is a murderer until he sees the evidence. And for that reason, they're staying quiet until it is proven to them that he was a killer.

I know AS has rubbed some people the wrong way on here, but I have a great deal of pity for him--I can't imagine how confused and heartbroken he is right now. Likewise, I;m giving the McLeods the benefit of the doubt because they have been through the same emotional roller-coaster the past 3 weeks in thinking their son was missing, being informed he was a wanted fugitive suspected of murder, and then being notified he was likely dead.

I suspect both families privately are going to be predisposed to blaming the other kid as a corrupting influence, but I think that is just human nature.

Oddly enough he seems to be wearing a Canada flag/Victoria t-shirt for most of the interview. I wonder what Tourism Victoria thinks of that?

Exactly and awesome post.

The Australia 60 Minutes treatment of the Airsoft, and that clip, is the subject of post #13.

Hi I just signed up after being a lurker on this thread for the past couple weeks. Amazing info here compared to twitter.

Just a small contribution here, but I had a small Crossman 357 pellet gun as a teen going back 30+ years. That gun had a muzzle velocity of over 400fps. After some stupid play shooting out old lightbulbs in my parents garage, I accidentally shot myself in the foot when the gun was in hair trigger mode. I had sandals on and the pellet hit my foot where there was no sandal. So the distance was about 2-3'. The pellet penetrated my skin only by about a mm or two. The backend of the pellet was still visible and I pulled it out myself with a pair of tweezers. I didn't want my parents to know so dealt with the pain and bandaged it up myself after pouring a bottle of rubbing alcohol on it to keep infection out.

My point here is that it only penetrated superficially, barely entering the skin. I highly doubt an airsoft gun could actually take someone down like LD. I think the most dangerous thing a pellet or BB gun can do is blind some if shot in the eyes....then they would be rendered helpless and the perps could do whatever they please.

Just my 2 pennies of contribution to start.
Ouch!! You’re hardcore! But I guess we’ve all done crazy things to avoid our parents finding out how stupid and careless we’ve been.

That's splitting hairs. Nothing should be read into the fact that he's wearing a Victoria T-Shirt. The murders didn't happen in Victoria and AS is not a murderer.

But he did not collect the cologne from his father. IMO, this is more indicative of a person who no longer has need for material things.

There are far cheaper bath oils that are part of common folklore about repelling biting insects. If he wanted $100 cologne for this purpose, he would have collected it. But DEET is cheaper and more effective, available at Walmart.

I believe that a decision was made after BS made the request for the cologne, but before his father arrived with it. Why request a gift if you already know you will never use it?
BS was was already on the road when AS texted BS about the cologne. And AS asks him how would he get the cologne to him then. BS asked his dad to send him a pic of the cologne. That was BS’s last text message to his dad. (Iirc) link on one of these threads.

BS's uncle has spoken out in an articulate manner. He is a prominent citizen in the area, but he conveys essentially the same core message as AS: a profound sense of loss and lack of understanding about why this happened.
As intuitive as family are, they seem just as puzzled as the public. You can see absolute heartbreak in the great uncle's eyes.

Oh! I thought the texts about pics were from dad asking for scenic photos of their road trip. Interesting. Maybe BS needed proof of purchase?

Did he ask for a pic? That must have been in a text message I haven't seen. What I have seen are messenger messages from FB:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/northern-bc-killings-manitoba-1.5224278

Once Bryer tells his dad he's going to be leaving, it's complete radio silence from him. You can always tell if someone has read a message in Messenger, and it looks like he never checked or viewed anything else his dad sent him. His dad does ask for pictures from their trip but that also garners no response.

I wouldn't doubt if the TV folks asked him to wear that, maybe even bought it.

I would like to keep Victoria as my little secret, because it's a beautiful place. I'm all for people staying away. Darn. Ruined it.

I thought the uncle was from Calgary?
