1. Just wondering if the ESL students from the other two school were mixed in with students from FHCI I would guess yes. Surely Mariam was doing some ESL work?

2. 'Mariam ate her lunch in the school library' I wonder if there is a full time librarian at the school or rather a teacher-librarian?

3. I just note the info about the entrance to the school a gathering place and the info about the windows in the library. Facing which way I wonder.

So if stalked what qualities of Mariam would atract can anyone help?

1. Well obviously her own physical characteristics brown hair height facial features.
2. Her shyness.
3. Her apparently unusual way of walking a sort of 'timed' element as someone once said.
4. Possibly her mother tongue though at this moment I do not think it is that - but it could be obviously.
5. non-fashionable attire
6. I have a reason for saying the next slightly strange thing: her cryptic half smile (Mona Lise smile? ) and somewhat Venetian/Italianate appearance. Painterly (beneath the jean jacket exterior).

Where would he see her;

1. 20 Shallmar
2. Or on street someone from neighbouring buildings there are several on Shallmar and on Bathurst.
3. Employment offices (less likely)
4. at around the school (fairly unlikely in 4 days)
5. already knew or knew of Mariam (from California Dad/Mom talking about her - or Georgia).
6. the park her family frequented Earl Bales
7. they didn't have a lot of Toronto friends but they had some - unlikely but someone among them....
8. dragon boats.... not very likely

9. There is a little park of some kind almost across from 20 Shallmar where Mariam lived and there is a bench right beside the sidewak. There is a little park in front of the school with chessboards I believe.

10. libraries the one near her school and the one at Lawrence and Bathurst esp.

I 'read' that Mariam was mad after school one day because her brother failed to walk home with her. Now is it possible her brother at first told a minor lie and did not walk with her all the way to school - then felt he couldn't retract?

Please take the following with a major grain of salt: the guy who begs for money at the corner daily Yonge and Eglinton north east corner claims to have seen Mariam around 9:20 the day she disappeared in fact he says she put her backpack on the newspaper box and took out 67 cents and gave it to him. She was with he says a group of young guys who he claims are known to be rough low level drug deals etc. They continued on to around 120 Eg. and the pub there which of course wouldn't be open at that time. The young toughs he said operate out of a house north of Toronto he has an exact address which I won't post says there is an older woman named Hella there. Strange name to make up, Danish.

Of course her parents are certain she had no money at all that day. And of course he might be inserting himself into the drama. He says he told police this. Anyway just to document for what it is worth which is probably nothing.

One thing does interest me as I have thought more about that old post about stalkers and Mariam. It wouldn't surprise me if Mariam would in fact be kind to homeless people, people down on their luck. I mean my evidence for that is zero but if.......it is another way in....someone harmless seeming who needs help with something. Someone she has seen around enough to feel a tiny bit of comfort around. Starving artist type?

Does anyone remember that Mariam had a journal entry that said something like "and then it began to rain and then something happened....." possibly a last journal entry? Now it was raining at times during the Dragon Boat weekend not sure about the hours she was there with brother.

It was someone who she knew at least a little bit. Not a stranger...

It was not raining on September 13th, as far as I remember. It was a lovely sunny morning on Septemeber 14th.

Does anyone have a link to the video on youtube or elsewhere amateur made up to help find Mariam - at the beginning of it there is a strange one second shot of Mariam that is unlike any other picture - at the time I saw it no doubt getting wildly imaginative (perhaps like the guy on the street corner LOL) I had this strange idea it was her in 'captivity'. Probably not I realize but I wonder where they got that picture of Mariam and I wonder why they spliced it into that one second of the film. Immediately following it showed the Union Station footage. I had a link to it earlier in the thread link now dead. Post 191 this thread if anyone has it had it or knows how to get it. She was leaning against a bed or a couch looking unfocused, dreamy, (or as I thought at the time drugged). Green wall apparently in the background.

OK I need help but only if you have time on your hands since this is a massive document and we are probably both wasting our time but....

In the following google search I have linked to go four down and see there is a reference Lela to Marion (sic) Makhniashvili the long document purports to be from Wikileaks and is mostly about the famous case of Jack the Ripper - the author as far as I could understand looking through it quickly seems to be arguing that there is some kind of geneological link involving groups down to the present harrassing and murdering people (!). The only reason I do not ignore is that I am wondering if it 1. is really from Wikileaks if so what is the source of the document I wonder? 2. Where is the reference to the Mak. family and what is the point assuming you can find it and make sense of it.

Here is the discussion page on Wiki showing the debate between those who wanted her Wiki article in 2009 deleted and those who wanted it kept up.

I don't know the politics of Wiki it seems curious to me that someone would go out of their way to have an article about a missing person taken down because she is only well known for going missing (!) It is a strange thing to do with your day IMO.

One debater finds it suspicious that the Mariam article was taken down at the same time as the Scribe page (mentioned few posts back) on 120 Eg East was deleted (they feel maliciously) - of course the Scribe page has since been reposted. At the time the two articles were apparently linked (!).

A clue IMO. Why this vitriol if Mariam had taken off on Sept. 14th and killed herself.

Didn't know about this - on an early thread an important poster in the Mariam case mentions this in in tandem with the posters/pictures of her being ripped down from lampposts etc. near Shallmar.

Now off-topic: I wonder if videos using suicide as a motif like the admittedly quite artistic video for the Lana De Rey song Summertime Sadness are such a great idea - but complaining about pop videos - now I sound old. The song is post 2009 so as I say off-topic (mostly).

On topic: post 556 thread 4 by "Mark" interesting point: "Lets think about it.. If you wanted to "Run Away" or "Skip School" and not arise suspicion why would she do something as random as leave her brother to enter another door?

If she was trying to be sneaky she wouldn't want to arise suspicion with her brother.. She would have entered with him and then walked out a different door alone"..

Interesting article I wonder if the priest is a relative of Mariam and family.

Four years today I think since Mariam went missing. I am not sure I have ever had so many opinions and ideas about anything as concerning Mariam's disappearance. Always feel like I am just on the verge of getting to something but never quite can.

Not to sound or get querulous but it interests me that once the 'fate' of Mariam reached its apparent and very possibly fabricated fait accompli those who want to keep questioning the question are questioned - as though it is unseemly to keep asking questions once the (hesitant and visibly bewildered) authorities have given the (apparent) answers.

Well, just in the face of that (though anyway I could be imagining it) just want to say I have no shame or hesitation in admiring Mariam though she was decades younger than me or admiring her father and mother and brother's fortitude through all this which is among other things not the Canadian dream but the Canadian nightmare, a dystopia not a utopia. The more exaggerated yet despite that truthful exposition I know of comparing the fate of one individual to 'everything else' are these anniversaries something like Mariam's times 100 not exactly in terms of antiquity but proximately that:

Post 326 link Nealon says he knows there is someone out there who knows what happened to Mariam. That on one year anniversary her disappearance.

Of course maybe now they don't think that I don't know.

But it is an intriguing idea still and still very very very likely. Someone probably in Toronto knows what happened no doubt multiple people.

It would be excellent still if one of those people call LE or CStoppers. Always possible the person who knows reads this thread. So I wish they would call.

Nothing new but just to organize for a purpose:

1. Mariam goes missing in an impossibly tight time frame and space about 30 metres or so on Mayfair very busy time of day. Admittedly this relies soley on evidence of brother though evidence of mother who saw her off minutes before fits with this.

2. Her backpack is found between two buildings the Eg. building has a immigration specialist who also has an office close to Mariam's Mom's place of work in California and offices there have cyber links to something called the Georgian Relief or Support Foundation (Scribe slideshow).

3. She somehow makes her way on to the busiest bridge in NA this somewhat withdrawn shy unadventurous studious girl with no money on her. And nobody sees her.

4. She is found in an unlikely spot close to a golf course and utility road and steps leading up to the bridge from below - close to impossible dogs or humans would not have found her. People actually live under the bridge party there draw graffiti there workman were fixing the bridge at the time there were workers huts etc. LE said they searched close to the area. Sorry but the olfactory evidence of human corruption has nothing subtle about it. Now if her remains, already corrupted were left later things become more likely just a little.

How is it that each of these aspects of her disappearance are so strange? Not one or two or three but all four.

Re Dotr's comment 'good news out of Georgia' I do think sleuths and public found it hard to 'place' Mariam and Georgia personally and geopolitically. It has been broached on the various threads and I have considered the idea that Mariam's brother and/or Mom might not be telling the truth about school disappearance.

However that would make little sense: her brother was at school that day, nobody saw him either - neither he nor her Mom would be able to be sure that nobody else would see him en route.....and if something else had happened say some type of accident there would be other stories ones could make up...why make up a story that could easily be found out and that you could not be in control of .....

I would like to know what Outcast thinks about the following.... I think the most likely thing would be for Mariam to turn right onto Vesta how far I don't know....it might represent the least chance of her being seen. Lured for some reason unknown nearby car or to apt. or house down the street.

Noted that Jennifer Young (LE) said the school was searched from top to bottom.

1. If she walks up to Eglinton she should be picked up on cameras (?)

2. If she turned toward the school it is likely not certain someone would see her.

3. As Nealon says in video abduction on Mayfair that time would create witnesses plural - thought Outcast as broached the notion that people just aren't looking out for each other..... I think it is possible but very very unlikely...

4. I guess she could walk towards the school bypass the front doors and go down past the tennis courts towards the road there is a bus route there interestingly that goes to York Mills I think. Again Mariam had no money it seems didn't know bus routes (one would think but who knows) and would no reason anyone could fathom to go to York Mills. She could follow the trail over close to where backpack was found but seems even more out of character than walking along street.

5. I think Dotr another thread broached notion that she could have forgotten something from home and gone back home or towards.... one 'intuitive' poster someone did mention the mall that you could access from Shephard Station

6. Trying to imagine what would lure someone you don't know is pretty tough plus Mariam is a bit idiosyncratic.... the things I wonder about all on a VERY slender basis are: 1. freaked out by picture taking teachers or other strange teacher just avoiding 2. clothes/fashion 3. offer of job will surprise parents 4. attractive person she had somehow met 5. artist type offering to show work 6. I think others will dismiss this but someone from Ching Hai group she had met Georgia due to English TV station and cafe they have etc. 7. someone asking for help or that she could feel sorry for.....

Have not really thought about this for awhile, but had nagging thoughts last night about Mariam's backpack.It still makes no real sense to me why it was not with her, or at the very least why she did not abandon it at the school instead of dragging it with her if she was planning on ending her life.

I fault myself for being way too tentative on this thread. I took my partner to the bridge where Mariam supposedly jumped she demurred to go down to the golf course which I had checked out though on on the Earl Bales side we had gone as far as you can legally go, t0 the fence. She actually disapproved of me looking into this case but said, looking at the highway, if you are going to look into it forget the idea that she jumped. It just isn't a reasonable scenario.

It is worth getting off the subway and taking that short walk if you are ever in Toronto you will see what she meant.

I think some new energy in this case would be a good idea.

It would be great if Olson or whoever is in charge of this now would make a name for themselves and break with the admittedly very early on suicide or accident theory which I don't even think LE believe. But they spent a fortune on it I am sure none too wisely as far as I can tell.

That said I am still holding back on what I really want to say! (DNA)

One thing I am unsure of does/did Mariam come from this prestigious lineage on her mother's side just to mention one name:
