4 DOZEN, 4 DOZEN...I hope these ladies are able to get some kind of closure & will feel more secure knowing he's locked up.

ETA - OKAAYY, now I have concerns about the wife, IF he had all these items...how could she not know???

ITA. This is certainly mind-boggling.

As for the wife, it's too early to say, but it's possible that he could have kept these items in a locked trunk either at home or somewhere at work. Just to give her the benefit of the doubt (for now!), there have been many instances of wives being totally in the dark about their husbands' activities. In this particular case, there was an unusual number of geographical separations between the couple. I sincerely hope that RW's wife had no knowledge whatsoever about his secret life.

"The Globe said Williams gave police a long and far-ranging confession in a business-like manner."

This is incredible! Last I heard, he has yet to retain a lawyer and is already confessing to crimes for which he hasn't even been charged? What is up with this monster?"

JMO

I have been going around in circles about this, the only thing that makes sense to me is; if he is well aware of what evidence they have & know he is sunk, that a lawyer couldn't even help him?

Snipped

There is a report Colonel Russell Williams has given police a statement about four dozen so-called lingerie breakins, two home invasions and assaults in Tweed, and the murders of Jessica Lloyd and Marie France Comeau.

The Globe and Mail says several sources claim the former Base Commander of C-F-B Trenton took detectives to Lloyd’s body on Cary Road in Tweed, and he photographed the murders and sexual assaults. His computer, which will be examined by forensic specialists, is expected to yield what one source called a treasure trove of evidence.

FYI: CP24 is reporting that Jessica's funeral will be held this coming Saturday. :(

R.I.P. sweet Jessica

Colonel gave detailed statement to police

"The Globe and Mail reports that Williams led police to Lloyd's body at a location near Tweed, a small town north of Trenton, after giving them a detailed statement about his alleged crimes and involvement in "four dozen so-called ‘lingerie break-ins.'"

FOUR DOZEN break-ins?!!! OMG. I'm afraid to find out what else he did.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowball_(cat):

Snowball (cat)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Snowball, a domestic cat from Prince Edward Island, Canada, has the unique distinction of being at the centre of a milestone in forensic history.

Thanks for this, Summer. I found the Snowball story very interesting. I had read elsewhere that RW and his wife had more than one cat, but this could have been reporting error.

Prior patterns?

Glenn Woods, a behavioural science expert and crime analyst, told CTV's Canada AM that it would be unusual for a 46-year-old sex crime suspect to lack a criminal background.

"I find it a little unusual to have someone in this age range with no previous contact with the police, so that's a little bit interesting. But, I'm watching with very little information at this point," Woods said during an interview from Ottawa on Wednesday morning.

Woods said suspects in this age range typically develop criminal behaviours at a much earlier point in their lives.

"My experience has been that someone who commits this kind of crime starts thinking about it very early in life and I would be very surprised if there weren't victims from long before this," Woods said.

Mark Safarik, a former senior profiler in the FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit, said police will be looking for any precursor-type crimes that Williams could be linked to.

"There's typically an escalation of behaviour that has occurred over a long period of time, and it's this precursor types of crimes that they'll be looking for," he said yesterday.

Safarik said as an investigator he would focus on burglary cases.

"Burglary cases at night where nothing is taken where victims are saying things like, 'I felt like there was somebody in the house but I didn't find anything missing, I heard somebody, I thought I saw somebody at my window, prowling, peeping,' " he said.

bbm Creepy, just plain creepy. jmo

Still everyone, I see the profiling of what they call a "gentleman" rapist, bits and pieces from the profiles suggest that. "I am not going to hurt you" amongst other things. I am not saying what he did was gentleman-like at all, but he seemed fairly calm and collected about it. He didn't knock her unconscious which would put him as an angry/sadist.

Can you see where I am coming from here?

He said ,"you don't want to look at me". Thank god she didn't see his face or this would have been 3 murder charges! The term "gentleman rapist" disgusts me, there is nothing gentlemanly about rape regardless of the level of violence. That he was calm and tried to engage her in conversation gives me chiils right down my spine. Also suggests to me he has plenty of expierience in this nature. This guy makes me think...cold, calculated, cocky and psychotic. I feel because of his position, he felt like he was untouchable and would never be considered suspect. Kudos to police on that road check, without that he may have been able to keep going on his spree of murder and rape! I think this is going to get much bigger for sure, he has been all over the place.

Is it possible that a very busy person in an executive position involving work-related travel could have enlisted the help of a hired hand to do his legwork? By that, I mean someone to analyze possible prospects, thereby saving valuable time for the executive?

This is the era of personal chefs and so on, so I wonder.

I agree. Gentleman is no way to describe this creep. I am sure the families of the victims certainly don't appreciate that term. Its really a slap in the face. Gentlemen don't rape and murder.

Cocky, cold, calculated and psychotic, now these are terms I agree with!

I sure hope the victims are not lost in all of this.

It's an actual term used by profilers, BTW. Getting an aspirin for the victim during the assault falls under that category. Research it if you don't trust that.

Sure it is possible, but I doubt it. I think he enjoyed all aspects of his hobby & it very personal to him (his little secret), but who knows with this psycho?

I was just expressing MY opinion. I don't care why they are calling him that. In my eyes he is NO gentleman. As I said, I am sure the families don't appreciate it.

Of course they don't. To think otherwise would be ridiculous.

It's JMO that a predator even as cocky as RW would not delegate stalking potential victims. (If this is what your alluding to.) It's quite possible that RW was doing "personal research" while appearing to be working. We may be overestimating how much actual time he spent on military duties and may have had more free time than we realize. Remember that sociopaths are extremely devious and excellent at covering their tracks. But it seems that RW was not quite as clever as he thought he was.
