"We focused most of our efforts today on some search and rescue type things," he said. "We have a large contingent of the police service and assisting agencies helping us so we can move forward."

Vandegraaf said officers also carried out interviews Sunday to gather additional information.

"We've received information from all sorts of different sources over the last 24 hours," he said. "We're following up any of that information that can potentially assist us."
Also on the posters is the name of a man who is listed as a person of interest.

Vandegraaf, however, said it is too early to make any assumptions that the man is a person of interest to the police.

"We're really early in this investigation," Vandegraaf said. "We're looking at all sorts of different angles to the story. That name is one of many names that we have been given to follow up with. We don't know what, if any involvement, this person may or may not have."

He said many tips have been received and the police are methodically reviewing theinformation.

The fact that her car, purse, wallet and identification were found at her Thurlow home -- where she lived alone -- has city police calling the young woman's disappearance "suspicious."

"Assisted by CFB Trenton and the OPP, police conducted an aerial search of the area surrounding Lloyd's Highway 37 home throughout the night Saturday and during the following day. One-hundred-and-fifty volunteers also assisted police with a co-ordinated ground search in the area surrounding Lloyd's home.

That search was called off Sunday night. VandeGraaf said the search turned up some "items," but he declined to elaborate on what those items were or if they are crucial to the investigation."

I don't know if this has anything to do with Jessica but the police have cordoned off an area just north of Kingston at hwy#15 and Station Road since early this morning. Police are being tight lipped.

I'm hearing that something is being investigated on an embankment. We also have a missing 53 year old man.

Belleville Police Update on Jessica Lloyd Mystery

Posted on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Belleville Deputy Police Chief Paul Vandergraff is urging the public to give police any information they might have on the disappearance of 27-year-old Jessica Lloyd.

*snip

Vandegraff says although Facebook on the internet has been helpful in rallying volunteer searchers and getting some information, it is not helpful if it is used to spread rumours. Meanwhile, the Forensic Unit is back at Lloyd’s home continuing its search for clues to her disappearance.

This could be another missing person so I am still hoping for the safe return of Jessica.

After hours of work by forensic identification officers painstakingly documenting and photographing a stretch of Station Road yesterday, police and firefighters removed a body found down an embankment alongside the road near Highway 15.

The body was found down a 10-metre embankment halfway between Highway 15 and the CN railway tracks. Thick brush and trees filled the area. The body was on the north side of the road along a rising stretch bordered by a line of wooden guideposts. Yellow police caution tape was strung the length of the posts and also blocked off Station Road.
A police cruiser sat at the intersection with Highway 15, turning cars away. A second cruiser blocked off Station Road at the CN tracks.

Vanness family can relate to Lloyd's family

As Jessica Lloyd's family anxiously awaits news on the missing 27-year-old, another local family is all too familiar with the emotional toll of a missing loved one.
Nearly two years after his disappearance, Calvin Vanness' family remains optimistic they will, one day, learn what happened to the Belleville man. Vanness, 65, was last heard from on March 26, 2008.

The radio is reporting that a body has been found near Station Road, Kingston and that the road has been closed. No word on who it is.

Also missing recently in the area is Allan J. Mott, 53.
