I am confused if he did not know anyone at the party other than his cousin how did CB and T become involved?
<snip>
"Heald said Lush didn’t know anyone other than his cousin at the party and wasn’t much of a drinker.

“He even questioned if he wanted to go or not,” she said.

“It wasn’t really his thing, he stayed home.

“Him and Denise weren’t apart much.”

Heald said Lush’s cousin left the party at some point, but he stayed.

He was seen leaving the party with two men some time after midnight."

Two men arrested in Nick Lush disappearance:

http://globalnews.ca/news/1921526/search-continues-in-connection-with-calgary-mans-disappearance/

The RCMP in Cranbrook, B.C. arrested the two men early today without incident and are being held by Airdrie RCMP.

At the time of their arrest both suspects were in the grey 2008 Dodge Charger, Alberta licence BDY-1907 that police had been looking for.

The Dodge Charger has been secured for forensic examination. The two suspects face charges in the disappearance of Lush.

^^^ The article is misleading - It says the men were arrested while in the vehicle they were looking for, and then further down it says Police are asking help in locating the same vehicle. I assume the reporter updated an earlier story without editing or even proofreading.

Lush has still not been located but RCMP say they remain hopeful he may be found alive.

Police said they will not reveal the exact charges until Monday.

Officers have still not located Lush and remain hopeful he is still alive. They are continuing to ask for the public’s help in locating him.

Calgary man's disappearance linked to assault
Apr 5, 2015, Last Updated: 8:08 PM ET

"Having (these two suspects in custody) is a big piece of the puzzle to locating Mr. Lush."

Lush, a husband and a father of three, went missing after leaving a Springbank-area house party with two unknown individuals early March 30.

A few hours later, about 8:30 a.m., two men were seen assaulting a third near an underpass at Hermitage Rd. and Trans-Canada Hwy. roughly 40 km west of the city.

While the investigation continues, Glavin said no one else is being sought in the disappearance or assault.

The suspects are being held by the Airdrie, Alta., RCMP.

Their names won't be released until they're formally charged.

Update 1 is in regards to car and body discovered west of Stony Plain and Update 2 is regarding Nick Lush.

"UPDATE 2

Cochrane, Alberta – The RCMP at Cochrane, with RCMP Major Crimes Unit – South continues to investigate two events occurring on March 29, 2015 near Cochrane.

The first investigation is of a serious assault reported to the RCMP at about 8:40 a.m. on March 29, 2015, which involved a witness reporting having seen two males assaulting another male roadside on Highway 1 near the Hermitage Road underpass. All three males were then seen leaving that location in a 4 door grey car east on Highway 1 by the witness. The second investigation is that of a missing person, Nick LUSH, 32 years of age, who is missing after last having been seen leaving a house party with two individuals in the early morning hours of March 29, 2015.

While it is not confirmed that these two events are connected, the RCMP cannot ignore the coincidence of the date and number of persons involved in the two investigations. Recently, the RCMP did conduct a search on Highway 1, near the Hermitage overpass, which was concluded the evening of April 2, 2015. Further searches are to be conducted this weekend and evidence collected will be assessed for its relevance to both investigations.

We continue to ask for the public’s assistance in locating Nick LUSH, who is 32 years of age, Caucasian, 5”2”, 140 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair and has tattoos of a “flaming tattoo” on his left arm, a “demon skull” on his right shoulder, a “scroll scribble” on his stomach and various other tattoos on his hands. He was last seen wearing a black “Sons of Anarchy” t-shirt, a green camouflage spring jacket, blue jeans, and black DC running shoes. We are also seeking the public’s assistance in locating a grey 2008 Dodge Charger, Alberta licence BDY-1907 that may be connected to his disappearance and the serious assault witnessed on Highway 1 at the Hermitage overpass."

So Nick's blood was discovered in the car that belonged to the two men who were arrested in Cranbrook? How do they know it was his blood this quickly?

"Glavin said Lush's blood was found with the car, although he did not say whether it was inside the car.

The vehicle has been secured for forensic examination and the suspects have been returned to Alberta to face charges in Lush's disappearance."

As with all ongoing investigations, they can only give away so much. They could probably feel confident releasing the information to the press and the family but not the reasons why they know. It looks like this is going to end on a sad note and like the O'Brien case, we may not know the full story until trial or post-trial.

Certainly appears to be one from comparing it to online pics of 08 chargers. Although a Chrysler 300C with those rims would be very similar.

Calgary Herald has a Breaking News banner on their webpage stating that two men have been charged with first degree murder in the Nick Lush case. No story yet linked.

"Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the disappearance of a Calgary man.

Lush went missing March 29 after leaving a house party near Springbank, just west of Calgary. An assault witnessed by a motorist on Highway 1 and the Hermitage overpass that same morning has now been connected with Lush’s disappearance, according to RCMP.

Two men, 24-year-old Cory Kenneth Bauer of Calgary and 22-year-old Kristopher Goerzen of Brooks, were arrested Sunday in Cranbrook, British Columbia and they now face charges of first-degree murder.

Hmm, well, no wonder Cody/Cory Bauer blocked his wife. Was CB the cousin??

If they haven't recovered his body, how do they know it was a homicide? (Unless perhaps the body in the burned out car is suspected to be him?)
