It is a mystery, rather like the case here in the UK of Leah Croucher, missing since 2019. Her remains have just been found this week with a murder inquiry now in place.

It may be a good while yet before SW is located. :(

Agreed, based on what we publicly know so far, and the fact there's been no reported contact with her in almost a year, the logical conclusion would be that Shannon is probably deceased.

For sake of her family I hope the case of Shannon's disappearance is solved in the near future.

Agreed. Someone DOES know what happened to Shannon. Unfortunately no one has come forward to provide information regarding her disappearance AFAIK.

I would be interested to find out what evidence, if any, the RCMP found after searching Shannon's ex-BFs trailer last year. I recall media reports of the RCMP conducting a lengthy search of that property but I do not remember reading anything about what was found, if anything.

So IMO, the question is who would have a motive for making Shannon disappear? Was she having issues with anyone shortly before she was last seen?
 
Kamloops appears an idealistic place but between this and Ryan Shtuka I get the shivers

AFAIK there's been no MSM references regarding motives in Shannon's disappearance. I'm wondering what, or who, would cause her to disappear?

Based on media interviews and reports, IMO it seems unlikely Shannon would disappear on her own and willingly remain out of contact with her family and friends for over a year. That seems highly unlikely to me.

The first possibility that comes to my mind is a failed relationship of some kind, however we have no direct evidence of that at this point. Several media reports, including the one above, mention the RCMP executing a search warrant at her ex-BF's trailer, but what may have been found regarding her disappearance, if anything, hasn't been publicly released AFAIK.

IMO there must be a logical explanation for Shannon's disappearance. We just don't know what it is yet.

I‘ve travelled past Kamloops area a few times since Shannon went missing and each time I look up and around at the hills, gullies, ravines, bushes and tree cover, thinking to myself that it would only be sheer chance that Shannon or the body of any other missing person would ever be found.

If these remains were human it is my hope it will advance an unsolved murder investigation.

Peterson Creek is right in the middle of the (google) map (below) running under the #1 Hwy (marker in green) & Shannon lived in LOWER SAHALI neighbourhood you will see it north of the #1 and left of Peterson Creek.

I tried to go on maps and figure out the location the body was found at, (more or less). And the two directions her jeep was seen going in seemed to be going quite a ways from the body's location, which was more central. It made me think this body is not her, as why would the perp drive around 45 mins. in one direction and also in another direction, before parking downtown. Just my opinion though! Having driven through Kamloops, it is kind of a convoluted setup re. hwys., etc. IMO. If it even is confirmed to be human bones.

...the bones were found in a gated, bushy area south of the highway not clearly visible from the road — between the Peterson Creek Bridge and a runaway truck lane and west of exit 374, which is near Rose Hill Road.

Dropping down west of exit 374, on TCH facing east just before the Peterson Creek Bridge & 600 M before the truck runaway lane.

Could’ve been to confuse the investigation? LE has never said where Shannon was confronted by her killer but it‘s possible it was right after she left home that morning and her body wasn’t in the jeep on that northern jaunt. Purely speculation…..
