Thank you for posting this ... I find it very strange that both Taliyah and her brother have the same surname, but the father's surname is different ...

Fathers surname is not different. Only his Facebook is listed with the "P" name. Police have identified him with Marsman as the last name he legally uses. I know- gets confusing when people use different FB names.

Thank you so much for explaining ... That never occurred to me, lol!!

It does seem curious that her brother spoke to her last night but no one's seen her since Sunday.

Just doing a FB search for her and her deceased mama, it appears both are family names so who knows.

The brother of a missing five-year-old Calgary girl says he spoke with his sister last night, telling her that he loved her.

He said the last time family members other than her mother had contact with Taliyah was about 10:30 a.m. MT on Sunday.

So which is it? Sunday morning or Monday night? If her brother actually spoke to her last night, he would know where she is, or at least where she was last night, wouldn't he?

The brother mentioned in the article is on FB ... I would guess that he is about 20 years old or thereabouts?

While sluething family (parents, parent's family/friends) is off limits, it's sort of impossible not to run across this info while searching for this little girl's name. Especially when they're posting about her too - and making their posts public. Just wanted to point that out.

heartbreaking to watch the family speak. :(

I missed the part which named the main gentleman who was talking ... Is he Sara's Dad?

What was said at the presser?

Not a whole lot, other than Taliyah is not an average 5 year old, she is taller and more mature, and her name is pronounced Ta-lee-uh
They were obviously devastated, and have all the hope in the world she will be returned to her family.

Taliyah Leigh Marsman's uncle makes public plea for her return
(click for Global's video on Facebook)

Scott Hamilton, the uncle of Taliyah Leigh Marsman, fought back tears as he begged for the missing girl's return.

Calgary police have issued an Alberta-wide Amber Alert for the five-year-old girl after she went missing from the community of Panorama Hills

Heartbreaking :(

So does anyone know, uncle Scott would be Sara's Uncle? Or brother? Brother in law?

And I'm sure the cops are very interested in the details of last nights phone call. Was anything "off"? Did taliyah mention mommy had a friend over? The phone call was "last night", yet the family called police after 8 pm because Sara didn't arrive to work? Who was supposed to have Taliyah while Sara worked? Wouldn't they have been alarmed that Taliyah didn't arrive to be babysat? What time was Sara's shift supposed to start? Or is the phone call misquoted as "last night" and should be Sunday night... Still after the last reported contact? So hard to wait and not know where Taliyah is. My heart breaks for this family. Reminds me too much of the Dunbar-Blanchette case, also in Alberta :(

Can someone familiar with Stampede Week give us a rundown of where it happens and what happens? I understand there's a rodeo, but I'm assuming there are other festivities.
