Jmo, but I think this person, who was first spotted in the same river near the Provencher Bridge on July 14, likely ended his life then and there and it took his body 8 days to rise to the surface.

Was probably caught on something.
This is the reason my Dad never took us boating on the red.

That's possible; however the current in the Red River is very strong. Lisa Gibson's body traveled from the West Perimeter Highway to the Forks in 3 days.

River patrol and fire-paramedic members tried searching for him twice, but with no success. I checked the map and the male's body didn't travel very far in 8 days....from Provencher Bridge to Alexander Docks - assuming he died on the 14th of July.

Although there are numerous mobile crisis intervention units and foot patrol officers readily available it doesn't look like they were notified after the man was spotted in the river. jmo

I look at them on twitter and have been able to read articles through those links.

Because there has been no sign of Thelma, she may have left in a vehicle. The border-patrol stations should be notified if they haven’t been already imo.

I'm mostly convinced of an inside job at this point. The newest Interview with the husband and daughter troubled me. Hubby very nervous, and they both used past and present tense Thelma statements. In past cases, with proven non-family involvement, there's usually that firm conviction of them being alive...or at the very least you're not thinking past tense only a week in.

Curious to know that if the police cleared the husband, would they tell us? Why won't they say if he went to CDN tire? If it was to be a 3 hour walk, why did she not have a water bottle or a hat?

It's a new paywall, you'll get 30 days or so for free.

IIRC.....Lisa Gibson's body went in the Assiniboine....

The Homicide Unit is working on this case so they could/should be conducting a criminal investigation.

One thing I've seen families do when a beloved member is missing is to hold a press conference and plead with the person who has their loved one to let her go.

Thanks for correcting me. The Red River flows to the north and the Assiniboine River flows to the East. They meet at the Forks which is located in downtown Winnipeg and very close to the Provencher Bridge.

Here is a video clip who shows the areas that were searched yesterday and Thelma's co-workers wearing purple.

Thanks Crosby , anyone wanting to dump something in water would prefer a spot like that , it is remote , has access by car , a low traffic bridge , and several openings right up to waters edge etc .

For the sake of out of town members , I made a rough map of some locations

.... small circle is the Krull home
.... medium circle is the community center where glasses were found
.... large circle is the swamp-lake area being searched in Crosbys video
.... The other map is a zoom out showing the general location within Winnipeg.

This is interesting and definitely they should, but she probably didn't have her passport with her (unless she was planning this getaway). If they/she tried to cross the border without her passport it would draw A LOT of attention so the thought is scary, but it could turn out to be a very good thing. Same if she has her passport and border-patrol has been alerted too.

Yes.... my problem is I started my 30 day free trial 34 days ago .... haaaa !!!!

Too bad about the paywall , The Winnipeg Free Press has some pretty good online content ..... trouble is they have a Dinosaur newspaper too .... and if content is available on the internet people will stop buying the paper .... so they shut off thousands of non subscribers and think it will solve their problem.

It wont .

Just my opinion, but I think any talk of a voluntary disappearance is absurd because of the grandson birthday angle. She adored her grandson, as most do.

Sounds like hubby drew no attention her disappearance until missing the birthday party. I would have been phoning the police by 11 am (1 hour after meeting time at CDN tire, especially since phone was turned off), but that's just me.

I agree about it not being the voluntary disappearance angle. I know myself that there is NO way in he-double hockey sticks ...that I would miss a family b'day ...especially children or grandchildren.

From what I recall....there was a missing person report called in about 10:30? Someone correct me if I'm wrong....Whether it was hubby or daughter/son....I don't recall that ....But 10:30 sticks in my mind...
Plus her daughter had tried calling her about 9...no answer...and she *daughter* was concerned even then...with the no answer....

Edited to add link on 10:30 time reference:

"By 10:30 a.m. the family launched a missing person’s report and they’ve been searching for her ever since."
